ampersand said:1. The treat of your post and pics, Paulie, with vicarious Yum.😋 Safe journey home.
2. Introduced to oat milk with free emporium café earlier. Jolly member of staff assured me it wasn't cheating, says she has changed over to same. & is much looking forward to v.v.v. buttery HC buns on Sunday.😁
3. About to swap one carpark for another. Into Town of Gown for 'Mrs Warren's Profession'. Meeting rugby club friends and another 'much looking forward to' both.
4. Huge help from MrT phone shop, to somehow transmit forms and docs urgently to &'s NZ MPs. Time deadline nears and Something Must Be Done....& outraged and angry over payout stunt being pulled after 35 years. Both MPs and constituency staff very willing. & has form-filled authorising them to do what they can. Made a point of waiting for a manager to express thanks re: same person, 2nd time in a week. Gladly filled in a staff appreciation thingy. Manager appreciated & doing so.
.
5. Booked for another bit of theatre with big discount - Sarfend this time.🙂 Will probably do an antique fair or 2 while down that way and magically find self near the Turner Contemporary somehow .....😁Carolbee8 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The house I am buying now says "sold" underneath it on RightMove! (The for sale sign outside my house also says sold).
3) Went to the pharmacist and bought the iron tablets that the doctor should have discussed or prescribed for me 6 weeks ago...
4) Went to M and S for a drink and to do some Arabic.
5) Went to bigger son's house (it is strange, Mhags) so I could help him renegotiate his phone contract but also to get it out of my name and into his. This needed a trip to Carphone Warehouse/PC World in the end.
6) Bigger son made steak and chips, onion rings and tomatoes for our lunch.
7) Got back and had to have a sleep. I will be glad to see the back of this anaemia.

For yesterday,
After a couple of days full of playing with pony in the sunshine it was back to being an adult and doing chores, as always the only pleasure is when they are done.
It looks as if a pair of robins have beaten the usual blue t*t occupants to the bird box, lots of activity going back and forth.
The sun come out after lunch so in the garden, was meant to be working but mostly just sat on the seat with small dog and soaked up some VitD.
Over to see girlie, much later than usual and she was already in, good groom and we shared an apple.
Opening the kitchen door to let dog out for her last wee and the rain smelt so fresh.

Just a few before the Bank Holiday Weekend gets a grip...Lovely colleague discussing new office and the view of another office with a room with bean bags. His comment (whilst innocent) could be interpreted in at least two other ways & I chortled and turned slightly pink, both to his satisfaction.M’lady mother has managed to “lose” her walking frame. She doesn’t like it, but we’re intrigued at *how*.Young leader doing law psychology & criminology wants to go into HR. Fellow leader knows criminologist who went into accountancy. Young leader slightly bewildered by my view that they’re two sides of the same coin.American relative, both vintage & having survived the tornado that made a mess of Little Rock, has got in touch - yes it was her daughter who last wore the family veil, but she posted it to some female relative of granny’s. (Ah.) Twenty years ago. (Squared) The field is not narrowed down at all. Still, she's well & chirpy & the hunt for the Veil can continue.Nice run over into Yorkshire for work - beautiful weather & as I got home, solid cloud - But Not Rain so urged Youngest to get bedding washed & linen on the line...While I did my travel & subsistence claim. Happy admin!Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, and may the Bank Holiday Weekend be a happy time (within reason, human nature being all it is)!7

Hello everyone.
Quick pleasures today for a change!
1) Lovely day and a good forecast for the holiday weekend.
2) Masses of daffodils under the trees, a beautiful sight.
3) No travel plans for the next few days, thank goodness.
4) Big steel girder thing was craned over the hedge today and fortunately missed my car which was just the other side of the hedge.
5) Read that coffee grounds will keep squirrels off my veg patch, son has started collecting them for me from his coffee machine eventough he looked quite sceptical. We shall see!
Enjoy the long weekend.

Hello all, we're back from our jollies.
Pleasures
1. Vietnam is amazing. Such an incredible place. so beautiful
2. The people are among the loveliest we've ever met - so friendly, polite and helpful
3. The food is gorgeous. And healthy too as well as cheap
4. We've cruised, cooked, boated, walked, observed, train travelled and been educated. And taken our lives in our hands every single time we crossed the road 🙈
5. too many individual events to name but one that springs to mind was an 8 year old girl in the station when we were waiting for the overnight train who said "May i speak English with you?" and she and i embarked on a lovely conversation about our families, our hobbies and past times and her school. Enchanting.
6. Another is a man yesterday stopping the traffic so i could cross the road - my own individual lollipop man
However, we've both come back with COVID which has some... erm... distressing symptoms (we thought it was the change of diet at first). therefore pleasure #7 is a taxi from the airport home. It cost us £54 but was worth every penny.
I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday, though it has felt like Saturday all day)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The mega dose of iron has not felled me, though I had to have another lie down this afternoon. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have been anaemic for many years...
3) Finally sorted out the premium bonds (a long phone call) so now I can redeem them when needed so I can buy my new house.
4) A lady from the estate agents phoned and she will be the go between for me, the sellers and the solicitors.
5) Have been offered even more postal vote sorting! With lots of invigilation as well, it is going to be busy.
6) Went to Waitrose cafe and did some Arabic. Sometimes I get on a roll and can write a few complete sentences. But then the most simple of words escapes me.
7) Sainsburys order is coming shortly. I never send back their substitutions but this time they have changed the Easter egg order (for sons) to Twirls! How ghastly! I bought the ones I wanted from Waitrose and the twirls will be sent back. What an outrage!

Hello!Have loved your pics VJsmum but not so good about being poorly. Hopefully you’ll feel better soon!Just filled my hot water bottles and came upstairs ( being thankful I remade my bed a couple of hours ago!)
Been rather binge watching The Night Agent…one more to go!Went to supermarket this morning. I know exciting! Then dropped something off for DD2 on her lunch break so me and the doggy’s just decided seeing as we were heading in that direction we’d keep on going till we stopped at the beach!I was ever so glad I’d a wooly hat in the car! As it was blooming fresh! But in an absolutely amazing way! Sky was so blue. Waves were so choppy and the dog was a bit confused at the kite surfers in the sea…don’t normally see that at 7am on a Saturday! They were a sight to behold. Reminded me of Melbourne beach life…though it was a tad warmer. Just an amazing half hour today! Then home. I’ve caught up on laundry. Didn’t do any yesterday as it was pouring. But that’s all the last bits of DD2 stuff all done. She can do her own now in her own washing machine! So she’ll get her last pile back tomorrow. Then I have to get used to not doing a wash most days! Years ago when I was a student it was a shared laundry ( for hundreds of us) and when we moved into our first flat I was delighted to have my very own washing machine and since then have have always liked laundry! All change!I slipped off the Lenten path and ate chocolate this afternoon. So near yet so far! However it gave me a sore tummy so it served me right! And I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. So I didn’t have tea for one!Chat to friend on phone.Several calls from DD2.Tidied up my kitchen. So I now have very clear worktops. I don’t really eat much bread so put away the bread box. Put the chaps coffee machine in its box to get collected tomorrow. Moved some things about in a cupboard and put the airfryer away. Tidied the cupboard under the sink. And thought aaaah! That’s better.Quick nip outside for a last dog wee. It’s fresh but clear outside. A gentle sunset.9 -
I have started to post a few times but been finding it right to complete tasks.
DFV - many stamps have been brought thank you.
1. The support and compassion from people. A friend at work being there and coming with me to the bereavement office and to take a card and gift to ITU to thank them. I was pleased too that the nurse I saw hadn't cared for my Dad as that would have been too hard.
2. The relative ease in which things have been organised and companies have been helpful.
3. My Mum is making plans and had a holiday booked to stay at my cousin's holiday home and she is going with her sister. She is managing very well.
4. Been on a few dog walks which have helped. Did find a fallen tree and bees have moved in.
5. Thankful that I had been freezing meals so been able to cook without much thought and it hasn't all been rubbish food.

Sounds a wonderful holiday VJS but not so keen on your souvenir lurgy!
For yesterday,
Wet start so into horsey town for a few bits of food and coffee with pal.
Driving up lane to stables and a hare crossed the road in front of me, long-legged beauty.
My mare was feeling very Woohoo with spring, wisely decided to lunge first and set up some trot poles in pen to amuse horsey brain, she worked hard and didn’t so much as graze a pole. Warm wash down afterwards - oh the joys of a hot wash - and left her in with a big hay net.
Home via the village store for some triple choc cookies!
Watched and enjoyed the footie, no hysterics & diving, no aggressive surrounding of the ref when decision goes against them, so refreshing.6
