Good morning - it is, too!
Paulie - I've missed your photos. That's a lovely one. Thank you.
Got a nice email yesterday from our chosen charity shop to say how much our donations had raised, and how much gift aid. To be honest, I don't think it would keep the children's air ambulance in the air for 10 seconds but I suppose ' Many a mickle...' And we usually call in the cafe, and buy a couple of books so it all adds up.
Sainsburys yesterday and bought the Easter eggs.. Quite surprised they weren't too expensive! ( of course, there were some expensive ones but we ignored them!)
Then to the outlet centre where I got a dress from Next. Very smart but a bit big on top ( unusual for me!). At that price, I'm willing to alter it. It's sleeveless, so not a big job.
I also got an Elly Griffiths book from The Works. It's a Ruth Galloway one, fairly early in the series but I've not read it before so that's a treat to look forward to.
We got some summer flowering bulbs a while back, and today looks like a good day to plant them, so I will!
Happy 🌞day everyone

Oooh, love Cornwall, hope you have a smashing time PH
For yesterday,
Chilly but bright start, the frost was sparkling in the early morning sun.
A white egret sitting by a stream.
With pony, she was clearly enjoying the sunshine so much that every time I went to put the head-collar on to bring her in she would nonchalantly walk away, good job I keep an emergency carrot in my pocket!
Driving home and so much green & blossom in the hedgerows.
Fancied a risotto for tea, had it with fried mushrooms on top and plenty of Parmesan.7 -
Paulie - know that spot exactly! Have photographed from other side with tide out, to include where Alfred Wallis was first 'discovered' painting. Love your pic!💗
If you're still there, climb up behind the Tate to his Leach-tiled grave in the Barnoon cemetery:

1. A gloriously sunny day today. 360⁰ look around and not a cloud in sight.
2. Have brought bird with broken wings to Red Lodge dentist. Young person in desperate straits with broken teeth and severe pain. It took her 20 days to find any appointment and that was 10 days ago. Have brought her in new2&, safe, legal Fiat Doblo. Loving it so much.
3. Food Warehouse 10% discount day again much appreciated. A few pass-on extras found. Always a pleasure to shop there on Tuesdays. Staff are consistently lovely.
4. Line-dried laundry.👌
5. Only the Mildenhall Base jets leaving a trace today -

Hello again.
A glorious day here, sparkling and sunny - but pretty chilly outside still.
Today's pleasures:
1) Fell in love with a reclaimed wood table/desk online while I was ordering a chair. Went to the factory/showroom and ordered one to be made to my exact size on the spot. Beautiful oiled old wood and local steel framework, lovely backstory too - chap was made redundant so sold his house, lived in a caravan, bought secondhand tools and taught himself to do welding and set up on his own. Now has 25 staff and going great guns - so much so that I won't get mine until June but it will be totally unique and suypporting a great local industry.
2) Dentist this morning, was a bit wary as I broke a back tooth at the weekend but not causing any problems so waited for today's check-up. Dentist is going to leave it as it can't be mended but says it is fine as it is. Nothing else to be done which was a pleasure but she wants me to see the hygienist again which is £60 of non-pleasure as last time I went she said she didn't know why I'd been referred as all was fine. Grrr! Still, at my age, better safe that sorry I suppose.
3) Didn't dare eat or drink before the dentist so coffee and a bacon roll with hubby afterwards while we were out and about. Everywhere felt very quiet considering it's the Easter holidays.
4) Lots going on here - first skip arrives tomorrow, Velux windows next week, paint chosen for front door, old scaffold boards for raised bed sourced, sand and hardcore delivered so builders can finish patio, path and summerhouse edging on Friday, prep work on roof removal starts Saturday. Busy planning my 'crops' for the raised bed.
5) There are two really big and really old magnolia trees in next door's garden, just the other side of the fence. They pretty much fill my view out of one side of our extension and, against the bright blue sky, they are absolutely amazing.
Right, off to have a cuppa and a very naughty slice of homemade caramel cake. Diet will begin again imminently!
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Hereford for the charity shops and had a cup of tea in the garden in the middle of the cathedral.
3) The survey on the new house has been arranged.
4) Went to Ludlow on the way home. Bought 2 t shirts and 2 cardigans from the charity shops.
5) Smaller son and I went for a walk round the nature reserve down the lane.
6) Watched Celebrity Hunted.8 -
1 A lot of tidying, cleaning sofas and spring cleaning in general.
2 Mowed the front lawn, I’ve left the back for now, its great with the ferret’s free range they keep it down a fair amount I want to let the crocus leaves die down a little more before doing it, I don’t know if it helps the bulbs or not but it’s not getting done just yet. Saw a lot more butterflies today, a rather large red admiral and various yellow ones.
3 A few new Ikea containers in the hallway and I’m using the old ones to tidy the greenhouse, also now have plans to jet was the patio and I get the job of re painting both sides of the fence, so I’ve ordered in the fence paint as it’s half price, delivered to the door. I don’t mind painting the panels it’s the lifting them in and out with both of us with arthritic arms causes a bit of bluntness.
4 Cooked up pizza slices from the fridge.
5 Had a text to say our glasses are ready, looking forward to being able to read again, dh was surprised when he handed me a container to read the instructions and I couldn’t.

For yesterday,
#1 has to be the spring weather, nothing but blue skies and sunshine, perfick.
At the yard, girlie worked over trot poles and she was a little 🌟 her fitness is definitely improving and mine is being dragged alongside.
She was warm and tired afterwards so I gave her a lavender wash down before turning her back out in the sunshine, she probably rolled at some point but who cares, my pony was happy.
Few chores in the afternoon, dog food from store and bird seed from GC, also picked up some seed pots which I’ve been meaning to do for ages, think too late now for first crop but salad pots are my favourite anyway. Popped them in egg boxes and left to chit.
Tired so early night and book reading.

Morning everyone
Another day in Cornwall, home tomorrow. Doggy walk with friend and her cousin around the village and church yard. Nice views over Penzance.
Then out to lunch, a delicious crab 🦀 sandwich at the Cabin overlooking the spectacular beach at Perranuthnoe.
Dinner at cousins, a lovely lasagne.
The sea air must have worn us out as the dog didn’t get up during the night and neither did we 🤣
We’re going to the village church for coffee and cake and a look around this morning and then taking Pasties to her uncles for lunch.
have a great day.8 -
1. The treat of your post and pics, Paulie, with vicarious Yum.😋 Safe journey home.
2. Introduced to oat milk with free emporium café earlier. Jolly member of staff assured me it wasn't cheating, says she has changed over to same. & is much looking forward to v.v.v. buttery HC buns on Sunday.😁
3. About to swap one carpark for another. Into Town of Gown for 'Mrs Warren's Profession'. Meeting rugby club friends and another 'much looking forward to' both.
4. Huge help from MrT phone shop, to somehow transmit forms and docs urgently to &'s NZ MPs. Time deadline nears and Something Must Be Done....& outraged and angry over payout stunt being pulled after 35 years. Both MPs and constituency staff very willing. & has form-filled authorising them to do what they can. Made a point of waiting for a manager to express thanks re: same person, 2nd time in a week. Gladly filled in a staff appreciation thingy. Manager appreciated & doing so.
.
5. Booked for another bit of theatre with big discount - Sarfend this time.🙂 Will probably do an antique fair or 2 while down that way and magically find self near the Turner Contemporary somehow .....😁CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello. DD2 has just been here for a few bits and bobs. Very sad doggy as she left!Right for Tuesday ( was such a busy day I just kind of fizzled out before posting last night.Basically all revolved around them moving out. So back and forth, back and forth all day. Their flat is nice and in a nice part of town.Picked her up from her work at lunch so she could nip ‘home’
Thankfully it was a dry day ( has lashed for most of today)
Chat to friend on phone when I eventually got home.Unsurprisingly slept like a log ( by my standards)
Met niece this morning and and a child free catch up. Which was nice. Spent the remainder of my garden centre gift card ( from surveys) on some herbs and seeds.Went to supermarket at opposite end of town as I was coming back into town that way. Got a few bits and pieces.Nipped into charity shop nearby and got 3 books for a pound and another ( because I love them) stripey top!Home and hello doggy!Had a rug up for sale and someone had asked for a silly price and I’d said no then thought just sell it! And then she was like oh I’ll need to get a lift. It was a 5 minute drive away so I said I’d drop it off. Rather than hang about waiting on her sorting something out. Anyway rug gone. I really didn’t love it. A bit less than I paid but hey ho.Not that far from mums house so popped by on the off chance her NDN was in which she was so was in for ‘10 minutes’ which was more like 40!Home and hello doggy!Took down heavy winter curtains and replaced with cotton voiles. In the hope that spring warms up! Changed heavy throws for lighter coloured ones. And sorted through all my flowers that I’d got for my birthday. Room looks so much better and lighter and no blooming annoying rug!I’ve booked in decorator to paint my spare three bedrooms! But it won’t be for another few weeks. But that’s okay. Plenty of other things to be getting on with.Sister phoned just as I was cleaning my patio doors. So had a half hour chat with her.Cleaned my bathroom. Then it was the dilemma of what to have for tea…now it’s just cooking for one. This will be a whole new ball game for me! Anyway I chopped up a potato, a parsnip and popped them in the airfryer. Then steamed some broccoli, carrots, mange tout and sprouts ( real food PP) and made a wee cheese omelette. And of course it’s not that I’ve never eaten on my own before, it’s just that I’ve never really done dinner for one in a very long time! And because it’s so nearly the end of lent and I’m at that so close to the end that I will not succumb to any cravings for sweet stuff I made a couple of little cheese scones in the airfryer and enjoyed them
!Then DD2 phoned to say she was just going to pop up to pick a few more things up so that was nice but also a bit hard! We are both still at the oh this is strange stage!Hopefully tomorrow is a dry day as there’s a load of washing to go on!Have had a heating free day ( though I’m now sat with two hot water bottles on my lap!) and I ain’t putting it on either! An alright kind of day!8
