Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Lots of crunchy nut corn flakes for breakfast. This is why I don't buy them!
3) Tidied up vaguely.
4) Went to M and S to have a pot of tea and do some Arabic. Saw my chess partner outside M and S (who I wave to from my car) and he seemed delighted to see me and we had a little chat.
5) English lesson during the afternoon was very positive. I think they were quite confused when I said I have to type into Google Translate, not speak, as it can't understand my accent. I then wrote by hand several things in English with the Arabic translation next to it - cue a long silence!
6) Quick tea made and I am going to watch television in bed this evening and do very little else.9 -

3) a lovely walk into work chatting to a friend i'm playing a ceilidh with this weekend
4) invited to a poster presentation and free lunch (that's not the only reason i went!) with lovely fruit kebabs
5) haggis balls and veg waiting for me when I got homeMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures
1. Got a full refund on my previous bought car after another fault.
2. Bought another car to fit ds2 & wheelchair in which I paid to get transported from North West to South.
3. Called on Saturday to car place to find out the transporter had not yet collected so made decision to take train up north and collect and drive back same day.
4. Refund on delivery cost and knowing I have transport for visit to ds2 consultant appointment at addenbrookes this week.
5. Meet up with friend for walk and coffee, haven’t managed to see friends for a while due to car troubles and work.
6. Still ever thankful to my wonderful neighbours.
7. Sleep so needed to keep going.11 -
Good morning. Sunny now but no doubt will be raining soo!
Topsy T - you have enough going on without car troubles to add to the mix! Well done for sorting it out yourself though. Sometimes it's the only way! Hope DS hospital visit goes well.
I had a lovely mother's day weekend. On Saturday we went to a dinosaur themed restaurant with DS and family. Those dinosaurs are very noisy animals! But it was lovely to spend time with the whole family together. DGS invited us back to their house to see his newly decorated bedroom ( very smart) and then we had to admire DGD ( nearly 3) big bed! We had coffee and a natter ( without the roaring in the background) then came home with me carrying my lovely pot of tete a tete and tin of posh biscuits.
Sunday afternoon we went to see DD. DH continues to help ( in an advisory capacity) her partner to tile the kitchen while DD and I chatted. This time I came away carrying a beautiful tiny Venetian glass vase she had bought on her recent trip. I really am spoilt!
But then yesterday DH was ill. D+V! Unfortunately those were some of the symptoms of the hernia problems last year so I was worried and didn't want to leave him alone so cancelled yoga and a visit to a friend. Fortunately by teatime it had settled down and he slept all evening and all night and is still asleep now. Sleeping himself better!
Here's some good news. Since yesterday the days will be longer than the nights! A real OSP.
Happy Tuesday everyone10 -
For yesterday,
A trip into horsey town for a food shop, decided rather than sit and have a coffee I would have a mooch around the charity shops and found a copy of St Delia’s Frugal Food, now I don’t need another cookery book but….
Twas Ostara, the spring equinox, so I changed the decs on the hearth & mantlepiece and hares & eggs now abound.
Chat with my elderly pal’s daughter and tentative plans made to visit her in hospice.
With my pony, she was marginally less muddy than at the weekend, hurrah! I lunged her and she was a good girl.
Saw a barn owl again, this time flying across a village green, it’s one of those big ones with houses round the outside and a road through the middle, Mr Owl was flying low to the ground, no doubt hunting for his tea.9 -

DD - I didn't remember that you were not Dr DD then..
Other pleasures for yesterday
1. Another whose workety work was worked. Two more for this academic year - both after Easter. I have agreed to do the same next year but we'll see about the following one. If i'm moaning and groaning about going back then i'll tell them that it'll be my last year.
2. came back home for lunch and watched the concluding episode of my Norwegian 'scandi-noire' drama. Very satisfactory
3. a walk to the chemist via the cemetery - always so peaceful there (which, I guess, is the point)
4. sausage and cauli cheese for tea.
5. a night by the fire - but it was a warm night anyway so i was boiling 🤭🥵 Watched DNA journey and the Dog House
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Waitrose cafe to do some Arabic.
3) Did little annoying admin jobs including making a hairdresser appointment at college. I emailed/texted a few people but couldn't seem to get a straight reply to any of my questions. Someone replied "thanks", which isn't an answer at all! Also accepted election day 17 hour shift and either 1 or 2 postal vote opening shifts (again, no clear communication).
4) Posted on an old thread of mine on MSE to try and get me saving again. Found Prolific and Quidco owe me money and YouGov will soon have to give me £50. Transferred some money to PB. If I have only a little in my current account, I shall be able to see what is coming and going more easily.
5) Took smaller son to McDonalds. Passed bigger son driving home from work. Smaller son said, "Where's he off to?" I said said he was driving home and smaller son said, "Oh ! Yes!!"

Pleasures for today
1. Whilst walking the doggy, met a lady with a dog who also just wanted to run and play, was lovely to watch them
2. pleased with the new to me car, good journey to and from the hospital.
3. My wonderful neighbour came and walked my doggy this afternoon.
4. Not a pleasure as such Ds2 has to have further surgery on his leg as the bone is growing fast enough. This will take place in the next few weeks. Pleasure is that the team at Addenbrookes are the best in the area.
5. Ds2 took the above news ok.

Morning. After a very wet and wild night it’s now a fresh and bright but windy morning! For Tuesday!Woke up with a sore head. Not what I wanted for the first day off! However a couple of painkillers later and it sorted itself.Went to next big town with DD2. She had stuff to return to pr!mark. It’s been a long time since I’ve been. So. Much. Stuff. Give me a wee shop or charity shop any day! Did buy some new pegs ( I know…the highlife!) and a pair of crocs for the garden.
Home. Hello doggy ( who is fine thankfully)
Went as far as supermarket. Got bits and pieces for tea. I could not believe the price of chicken! It’s obviously been a while since I’ve bought any! Made fajitas for tea as friend was over. I’d given her the choice in the morning of fajitas or gammon ( don’t normally give a choice 😆) anyway fajitas turned out to be the more expensive option! Not that I grudge it! Used my vouchers up to pay for some of it.Another lovely evening of friendship and laughter and nice food. Perfect!Hope you all have a lovely day 😊8 -
Morning everyone 😊
Mothering Sunday went well with OHs mum enjoying coming to lunch for a roast dinner and homemade fruit sponge. My son turned up for a shower after a weekend off roading with a card, bird book and toffees for me 😊
Took OH back to hospital yesterday and surgeon happy with xrays. OH can now weight bear with the boot on and crutches which will make getting around the house a bit easier. Stopped at Sainsbury’s on the way back for petrol and some shopping. We were going to eat at the cafe but I bought fresh rolls and doughnuts so we had lunch at home instead. We had a lazy afternoon watching the previous episode of Grace so we are now ready to watch the new series. John Simms wasn’t how I had imagined Roy Grace, but I think he’s quite good now 😊
Out for coffee and lunch with a group of friend’s friends in nearby town this morning.
Have a great Wednesday all 😊8
