Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did lots of Arabic throughout the day.
3) Went to the library in floody town where they were in disarray as a new printing setup has been installed. We used to just go to the man and pay him 15p. Now you have to scan your card and put coins in a machine, then go to the printer and go through various menus (no instructions) and show your library card again to get your printing. It took so long today and he put some more money on my account for me as it suddenly started printing in colour! Anyway, I printed various sheets of footballing terminology ready for English class next week.
4) Went on to Ludlow to look round the charity shops. Did not find anything. Had a cup of tea and a flapjack in the cafe.
5) Vaguely started to tidy up ready for the house viewing tomorrow morning.
6) Made rabbit stew for tea, with dumplings.
7) Sainsburys order arrived. They swapped a punnet of fresh figs for a mango again. Now I have 2 mangoes and no clue what to do with them!8 -
Friths. Mango. No, just bin them. End of.I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!7
-
Frith - from these, the chutney, sponge and curry are vg.😋 Haven't done any others, but did put some in a rumtopf or two.

1. New2& Fiat Doblo is so different and such a pleasure. Much handbook reading for this, &'s first diesel. Many thanks to person whose generous insistence has made it &'s. It feels like a huge and special trust, knowing b/g.
2. &'s double-header weekend at rugby Club as Raffle Harridan The Nasty fundraised big ££££s, all much needed and everyone wonderfully good-natured. Sunday's luncheon speaker was Deborah Griffin, O.B.E and dhe also won a prize!.m She'd spotted a Signed limited edition b/w drawing as a jigsaw - apparently her big thing! Who'd have guessed it?
3. 10%-off-everything-Tuesday at Food Warehouse was lovely again, as are all the staff, always. Such a help to ancient & and others, with whom much is shared.
4. Back after midweek Communion to find mail included a £25 cheque. & has won another prize in the monthly local LP raffle. It's done & rather well over the years.🌹❤.
5. Spent cut-off time down at river until after dark. Rowers still out training for Henley et al, white lights at prow, red lights astern. Fed swans with extremely crunchy pasta left over from Tuesday night's rugby training. One swan pecked twice at &'s chignon. Okay big chap, my hair's up in a bun, but it isn't one for munching!😁
That's as far as everything wants to go from &squat.
Rugby Preview work almost done, but must check back to see if DoR has replied re:C and VC for tomorrow's FNL match.

Good morning. Bright and sunny 😀
Topsy - sorry that DS not progressing as well as hoped . But once again, thank goodness for the NHS. ( One of our catchphrases, after three years of tests and procedures for DH, still ongoing, is " Think what this would have cost in America! ")
Ampersand - Still as busy as ever! You are obviously going to " wear out rather than rust out".💃 Me too, I hope, though nowhere near your level of busy!
Back at the caravan to open up and check everything is ok. It is, but the weather yesterday wasn't! Stormy, heavy rain and a bit of thunder for good measure so we've not seen the sea yet. Today looks great though so we'll go check it out when DH gets up. Might wash up noisily soon to bring that time forward !
Had a lovely lunch yesterday at a local farm shop/ cafe. Bacon and brie on crumpets ( pikelets to me) with red onion marmalade. Beautiful! I don't usually eat much at lunchtime so I was still full at teatime. Just had a bit of flapjack and a coffee. And then a glass of vino later to welcome in the new caravanning season.
One of my caravan treats is Nutella on toast for breakfast. I allow myself one jar per year and when it's gone , it's gone. I daren't buy it for home because I'm so addicted I'd eat a jar a week!
Happy 🌞 day everyone

The first thing we would be asked in Australia…do you have private insurance? Which we did with my husband’s work but not after he died. You do get seen in the public system you might just have to wait. The first time DD2 had a GP appointment here she wondered why we just walked out at the end. Why didn’t we pay? You’re also required to have ambulance insurance ( which is quite reasonably priced) but otherwise you’re charged. So there’s much to moan about here ( horrendous waiting times for a blooming appointment) but at least we don’t have to pay upfront to be seen.Anyway ! It’s Friday already and it’s raining, guess what I did yesterday…painted the fence then it absolutely lashed and lashed all evening and all night.A quiet day other than fence painting. Thankfully still had a full tub from last year and as I’m getting a new fence next month only had to do the back fence which is easiest to paint. The chap came out to help but did about a tenth of what I did…but it was a tenth I dint have to do.Brought the garden bin round the back garden and filled it with plants that did not survive the big frosts before Christmas. Sadly quite a few.Found a new to me medical drama ( ha another one! ) called Transplant. So rather binged on that in between the painting!Watched the final episode of The Apprentice. Anyone else watch it? DD1 does but she’s away for weekend so I can’t even talk to her about it as she’s not seen it!Absolutely rubbish sleep. So was just glad to get up this morning.Meeting up with niece and little chap this morning.Have a lovely day 😊9

Have you tried Bonne Maman’s version @Happycas? I picked up a jar reduced a while back and oh my, as with you it has to be rationed!
For yesterday,
We had sunshine and a decent amount, two yard coats washed and dried on line.
Into horsey town and the cheery sight of so many daffodils on the big green at the top of town, someone has been busy planting.
Then a hair appointment in Uni city, I had half a mind to look around the chazzers but thanks to a HUGE boat being escorted pass the football club I was only just in time for my slot and then didn’t have the heart afterwards.Capt S cooked tea, his specialty…..cheese omelette, tasty and the effort was appreciated.
Watched the footie and cheered when H scored his record breaking goal, top chap.9 -
1. Bright sunny morning as I went to work by bus which was on time.
2. Didn’t manage to break the printer at work!
It did want to print over 300 pages and wouldn’t stop. Switching off was the only thing that worked.
3. Flowers in garden - some bulbs have come up which I don’t remember planting.
4. A chicken pie for tea and made one for the freezer.
5. A conversation with a patient of DH about eyes. Always interesting.9 -
For yesterday
1) got my washing done and out on the line - always an mse pleasure for me and refilled all the bird feeders (I have a couple of extra so i can rotate, washing out the seed one in particular)
2) external examining was fun - it's now hybrid and asked if i can go down in person in September - it's quite near to Luton so have booked whole week off and hoping for a home match one end or the other 😎
3) packed lunch AND supper as busy till 8 and sadly couldn't wait for the free food after the 5pm meeting as needed to rush to the 6:30 (both uni meetings) - sat at back and ate my supper quietly ;-)
4) the england result - managed to get to 2nd half so missed the better performance but my pint was waiting, DrM was in good form, a very pleasant way to end a very busy day
5) washing had been brought in by mum - almost all dry and sweatshirt and trousers now hanging on clothes horse in my bedroomMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello, back again!
Nice and brief today, due to 2) below:
1) Lovely sunny weather, the summerhouse base is drying out nicely and yesterday actually 'smelled' like spring.
2) Text from a pal asking what time her and another friend should arrive on Monday. Eek! I can vaguely remember a conversation about them coming for lunch one day but no recollection of firming up a date! Will be lovely to see them though, need to plan a lunch menu and go shopping.
3) Luckily the house is relatively clean (apart from the brick dust) and tidy from our visitors this Monday. Had shoved a load of stuff in boxes and bags in the workshop which hubby had just started bringing back in. I hadn't started unpacking them so they can go straight back out again!
4) Had a nice evening at hubby's play - an Agatha Christie - maybe not quite as professional as The Mousetrap but they did well, though some of the newbies need to project their voices a bit more and talk 'forwards'.
5) We have the building inspector coming on Monday to ok the steel work and then we can crack on a bit further.
There, short and sweet today, no rest for the wicked!
Have a good weekend.

Out and about today. With all the weather! Rain. Wind. Bit of sun. Wild. Rain. More rain. Hail. Dry. Cold. Rain.
Dropped DD2 off at work.
Went to garden centre to meet niece and great nephew.
Went to their town and had a good mooch around the shops all by myself and took all the time that I needed. It has lots of little independent shops.Stopped at beach on way home. Just went a walk up the shore but it was blooming wild in a bright way!Went to big supermarket and bought a couple of plants.
Home and hello doggy. And woah look at that weather!Did some work stuff. Paperwork/ emails/ texts. I’m such a good procrastinator…tidied my bedroom first 😆
DD2 and chap supposed to be traveling tonight but flight cancelled…me oh dear, I’ve just eaten your very nice curry from the fridge! Anyway they came home and managed to get something sorted for first thing tomorrow. It will be an early night for me as I have an early start tomorrow. Hot water bottles filled. No heating on today and what a difference to the smart meter that’s made.8
