5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Hello, back again!
Nice and brief today, due to 2) below:
1) Lovely sunny weather, the summerhouse base is drying out nicely and yesterday actually 'smelled' like spring.
2) Text from a pal asking what time her and another friend should arrive on Monday. Eek! I can vaguely remember a conversation about them coming for lunch one day but no recollection of firming up a date! Will be lovely to see them though, need to plan a lunch menu and go shopping.
3) Luckily the house is relatively clean (apart from the brick dust) and tidy from our visitors this Monday. Had shoved a load of stuff in boxes and bags in the workshop which hubby had just started bringing back in. I hadn't started unpacking them so they can go straight back out again!
4) Had a nice evening at hubby's play - an Agatha Christie - maybe not quite as professional as The Mousetrap but they did well, though some of the newbies need to project their voices a bit more and talk 'forwards'.
5) We have the building inspector coming on Monday to ok the steel work and then we can crack on a bit further.
There, short and sweet today, no rest for the wicked!
Have a good weekend.

Out and about today. With all the weather! Rain. Wind. Bit of sun. Wild. Rain. More rain. Hail. Dry. Cold. Rain.
Dropped DD2 off at work.
Went to garden centre to meet niece and great nephew.
Went to their town and had a good mooch around the shops all by myself and took all the time that I needed. It has lots of little independent shops.Stopped at beach on way home. Just went a walk up the shore but it was blooming wild in a bright way!Went to big supermarket and bought a couple of plants.
Home and hello doggy. And woah look at that weather!Did some work stuff. Paperwork/ emails/ texts. I’m such a good procrastinator…tidied my bedroom first 😆
DD2 and chap supposed to be traveling tonight but flight cancelled…me oh dear, I’ve just eaten your very nice curry from the fridge! Anyway they came home and managed to get something sorted for first thing tomorrow. It will be an early night for me as I have an early start tomorrow. Hot water bottles filled. No heating on today and what a difference to the smart meter that’s made.8 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Spent a few hours last night putting money into premium bonds and opened a new instant access saver. Also fixed something that kept going wrong on my current account banking app. Felt organised that the "house money" was going to be better in PB and a saving account than waiting around in my current account while my house is on the market...
2) Not a bad sleep.
3) Up relatively early to clean the floors, the stairs, wash up, empty the bins and tidy up generally before the house viewing at 11am.
4) Put smaller son in the car and we had lunch at McDonalds.
5) The estate agent phoned while we were still on the car park and the lady loved my house and had put in an offer which I accepted !!! I now have to retrieve all the money from the places I sent it to...
6) Booked an appointment to look at a house next Tuesday. The one I liked months ago (with a lake behind it) is still available - I emailed to check. Smaller son is now saying he doesn't like that one, which has thrown me. To be honest, I don't think he will be happy with anything.
7) Went to Waitrose cafe, did some Arabic then filled in lots of online portal form things for my new solicitor. The buyer is a single lady and paying in cash and I don't have a mortgage so hopefully it will go fairly smoothly.
8) Got home and found all the certificates for the new windows and front door, the shower installation and the new central heating. I couldn't find a way to log back in to the portal and attach them all so that will be a job for Monday morning. I also need to provide a map of where the septic tank is.
9) Made a tasty tea of steak with hm chips, onion rings, tomatoes and blue cheese.
10) Nothing much to do now apart from watch television this evening. Bigger son was going to come round with an angle grinder and chop the bunk beds in two tomorrow to make the little bedroom look larger. He doesn't have to bother now!8 -
Frith - congratulations. I hope everything goes smoothly with your house sale - and that you find a house that you like. Hugs.8

Frith - excellent news. So exciting 😃
We were very lucky with the weather yesterday. Very bright and sunny if somewhat windy ( bracing 😂). We went to the Spa cafe which has big picture windows. You can see the sea but in the warm. Perfect for this time of year.
Nothing else much. Bits of maintenance and moving things from one cupboard to another, and much chilling.
Back home today, but mission accomplished and longer breaks in better weather to look forward to
Happy Saturday everyone

Congratulations on the house sale Frith.
For yesterday,
Sloggus domesticus, changed the bed and made a loaf, larger than normal batch of dough as wanted to make a pizza for tea.
Went to see my elderly pal in hospice, she had really deteriorated but still knew who I was and we held hands to have a chat 💔
The yellow blaze of the Forsythia as you come in the garden gate, was pretty ruthless with it last year when cutting back and it obviously liked the rough treatment!
With my pony, mud is arrrgggh and at one point my wellies got stuck and I had to lean on her to pull them free. Once in she stood happily with her hay net while I gave her a good groom, have a handy tool that really helps with her shedding coat and I cut the end of her tail as it had got rather long, will have plenty of time to grow back to swish those pesky flies away.
Home, hungry so had a small pot of cashews & sultanas, then Capt S finished work and opened the bar so had a glass of wine as well 😉 Finally got round to making pizza and then watched Gogglebox.7 -
That’s great news frith hopefully you get the place you want too🏡6

Lose an hour!
Brighter Nights?
All is well on deck!
Tuck the wheels inn for the service yesterday and she is good. Just new tyres next weak, butt is bucked inn for that. 11 years old and a tad bit on body work, but apart from that, lick the gas furnace, ifs yous luck after them ...
Then cooped up the Alabatross at her mill, home for some proper food. I always this at this times as we ate our tom sauced meat balls (not Swedes) about those peoples who can only eat in the burger flipping joint!
Then we eyed another flix on the screen. Elvis Very good, buit a good reflection. Thinks these days people forgets that he did come from a poor area as well! Wobbleades and cheeses were takens. We has the LieSter Red that is smoked this weak!
Now glued to the airwaves as the mariners are playing this day! #UTM 'UTH
That is all
Jen sends herI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!7 -
Rain! Rain! Rain! Absolutely lashing down !Right, I was up exceptionally early this morning to go to work for a couple of hours. Very quick doggy walk and it was so lovely and quiet. A few birds awake though not very many.DD2 phoned to say their re-booked flight this morning had also been cancelled! They then had to go cross country and then were delayed on the tarmac but finally got to their destination! Hurrah!Home for 6.30am and grabbed a doggy and off we went to the beach. Roads lovely and quiet.Beach also lovely and quiet. Tide was so far out. Sun reflected on the island.Stopped at supermarket on way back. Got three pretty pink ranunculus plants that were RTC.
Home.
Id picked up a couple of books from the charity shelf and I’ve just sat and read on and off all day. Finished the first one.Niece was coming up to take my rather sorry state garden sofas. Was a struggle to get screws out. They’d all rusted on. This was bought in Australia and lived on our porch…not quite so damp as Scotland. Had a bit of a moment using husbands tools. He loved tools and had tools for every occasion other than taking apart a rusty sofa! Anyway finally got it sorted and taken apart. Then we had to do car jenga to get it in! She’s got it al together and was delighted with it! Me…I’m just glad it’s doing her a turn. Then the rain started. I’d a washing out that was maybe half dry. So that’s all on the clothes horse and in front of the fire!Put fire on using my last of the winter logs. I do have some other logs in my shed but they’ll be a bit damp so hoping to use them up in my fire pit over summer.I’ve enjoyed having the house to myself today. 10 more days till that’s what I’m like permanently. It might be a different feeling then.Had a supermarket lasagna ( blah) and peas for my tea. Won’t need to buy it again.Probably going to have an early night after such an early start. But I’ll wait till the fire dies down.9
