For yesterday,
As always, getting the sloggus domesticus done first so it can’t spoil my day, ha ha.
Over to the yard, got girlie in from field - oh the mud! - and got her ready for our lesson, yep someone else casting their eye over us after quite a while, eeek!
But, some really lovely comments on my girl which made me proud, stuff to work on for next time as well, horsey homework if you like.
Spent some time chatting to my pal at the yard who is going through a rough time health wise and then home for a very late lunch.
Capt S came home with some more of the soil conditioner from local recycling plant so shovelled that into the veg planters.
We watched last weeks GW then played a few games of Yahtzee.

Hello again, a lovely sparkling morning to wake up to.
Topsy - so sorry to hear about your poor lad's ongoing leg problems.
A busy couple of days here but in a very pleasureable sort of way:
1) Family came for lunch on Monday, nine of us in total and it worked really well. First time I've had a biggish 'do' since we moved here and it was big fun. I love having people round my table, laughing and chatting and enjoying themelves. The food went down really well, recipes asked for which is always a good sign! My bairn joined us for lunch in a break from work to catch up with rellies including two of his godparents.
2) They had a good tour of the work in progress on the house and agreed it wll be 'stunning' aand 'fabulous' when finished - so no pressure there then! All could understand now they've seen it that it would have been just too good to walk away from eventhough it came up a couple of years too soon and is big work. However, it did allow hubby to 'retire' a few years early and that extra time we have had together has been a massive pleasure.
3) Because it all went so well, I have offered to host our traditional family Christms (sorry!) get-together and am really looking forward to it! We always pre-Covid had this on the first weekend of December and this year it will fall on my mum's birthday and the following day is my sister-in-law's birthday so we are making a weekend of it and they were so keen they have already booked a local hotel to stay overnight!
4) Yesterday we caught up with my dad's golf partner and his wife for lunch. He had been wonderful with my dad in his later years, picking him up and taking him to meet his pals at the golf club when he could no longer play and couldn't drive. I used to take my mum out for the day every Thursday and they would poodle off for coffee and bacon sandwiches at the club, it gave my dad such a lift. We didn't want to lose touch with them now mum and dad are no longer here so it was lovely to have a catch-up and to be able to treat them to lunch.
5) Back not too late as last night was the first night of the play, so packed hubby off and had a lovely restful evening with a good book and some leftover bits and pieces. All went as well as an amateur production can, a few sound issues but a very tolerant audience! Our local theatre is in a lovely converted church and has a very loyal following so pretty good audiences for the week which is good, I am going tomorrow night so they should have all the teething problems ironed out by then!
So, a relaxed morning and a trip to the garden centre to start looking for some new patio furniture are on the cards today. If hubby behaves himself I might let him treat me to afternoon tea while we are there as the diet is pretty much shot to pieces this week anyway and there is always tomorrow!
Enjoy your day.8 -

After a long absence I will start posting again.
Some pleasures from the last couple of months.
DS1 and girlfriend wedding is organised for October. Church and venue booked, caterers and photographer and disco arranged.
I went wedding dress shopping with her. A lovely dress was chosen which she looks beautiful in and we both thought so.
Family gatherings have been fun. Spoilt in Mothers day by breakfast and afternoon tea. DS2 and girlfriend had stayed the night before as they went out local to us and wanted a taxi service so they could drink.
Have 2 vases of flowers which look great.
Seeing the spring bulbs flowering. It seems a sign for better weather and a fresh start.
Enjoying cooking more so eating healthier and snacking less on stuff I shouldn't be eating.
New next door neighbours are normal still. Such a difference to some previous ones.
Sowing seeds in my greenhouse and pottering in the garden.9 -
Hey Villagelife
For yesterday,
Weather started off with driving rain which was fun for first dog walk of the day but by 11am the clouds had blown away and the sun was out.
Cleaned the bathrooms, as always pleasure only when done.
Made a loaf and a chilli for later, added a few squares of 100% dark choc which we found too bitter to eat by itself but yum in this.
At the stables, gave Missy a 10 min lunge just to check all ok after previous days exertions, she was fine and we shared an apple, well I had one bite before she realised what I was doing and stuck her big nose in my face.
Home, hungry so chilli very welcome, tad hot so had to have cold glass of beer with.8 -

Last nite I came back with a quickie live Scrabble. Wobleades and cheeses were taken.
I has perfected the Chick inn Tikka for this season, recipe soon. Testing a new Chick Inn Satay today. Will report of it is tasty.
