Good morning. Bit grey today.
DfV - love the named mango seeds. Hope they continue to thrive. I think mango trees are quite big but don't know why I think that because I'm pretty sure I've never seen one. Will have to pop across to Lancashire in a few years time and check yours out!
Ampersand - love the 'sweep the room with a glance'. My dear aunt used to take off her glasses to dust. That way she couldn't see the dust and ' what the eye doesn't see......
VJ's mum - glad I'm not the only one who sleeps through tv programmes. I often have to re-watch next day. Wish I could nod off so easily at 3am!
The garden is really perking up now. The hellebores are fantastic this year. And now the mini daffodils are flowering. I always plant out bulbs that have been given to me as houseplants - usually for Mother's Day - and lots of them are popping up too. But sadly my wild garlic has not reappeared.
Actually managed to get to yoga yesterday. I seem to miss more sessions than I hit at the moment. It was good and my hips certainly know I've been!
Took eldest GD out for tea yesterday ( middle one was poorly and youngest didn't want to leave him!). It was lovely to see her on her own! Can't believe she's reached the stage where she's discussing her options for GCSE!
DH is having some wood delivered today so I'm going to the supermarket on my own. Usually quicker and cheaper that way anyway!
Happy Tuesday everyone9 -
Hello. It’s been dry but a raw kind of day.Alarm clock went off very early. Quick doggy walk then into work for a wee while.
Home. Chap came to fix a broken bit on my blinds. A between 9-1pm slot so was glad when he came at 9.30am
Went to supermarket. Sigh. At the increased prices …45% increase on dogs biscuits!Home.
Then walked to work and back. I’d something to change in diary. Lots of spring flowers in gardens.
Home and doggy snuggles
Dinner was a gammon joint in the slow cooker. Potatoes ( leftover from work) and parsnips inn the airfryer and broccoli and cabbage and green beans. Very yummy.Watching Unforgotten. In a bingeful kind of way!9 -

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Spent a great deal of time cleaning and tidying. I cleaned the stairs, the bathroom, moved my bedroom furniture so the room was impractical but looked better, cleaned the windows, the floors...
3) Had part baked rolls for lunch with l.o chicken and stuffing.
4) Smaller son decided he wanted to go for a walk (!) So we walked along the riverbank, over the bypass bridge and back down the other side of the river. Of course, we passed the emperor twice as we drove there and back.
5) Someone came to view my house at 5pm.
6) Went to a meeting.10 -
For yesterday,
Filled the mini up and the pleasure is that it doesn’t cost quite as much as a few months back, ignored the siren call of Mr Sparks goodies - looking at you lemon & sultana danish!
Made a loaf, rye & malted flour, then a few chores and cashed out Prolific surveys.
Met lovely brother at farm shop cafe, sibling catch up although we nattered for so long we missed chance to share a cake, particularly galling considering #1
CaptS had popped the heating on so walked into a warm house.
Youngest DSS and lovely gf are in Iceland visiting brother, sent picture of Northern Lights, errr….

Morning all 😊
OH home from hospital. He’s very clumsy with the crutches but manages to get upstairs to bed on his bum! He’s in the other room so we’re both getting some sleep 💤. His foot and leg are very swollen and he hasn’t had the follow up call or appointment call as he was told he would get, so I am telling him to call the hospital today.
Beautiful clear skies on Sunday and Monday evening and I spotted Jupiter and Venus.
i went swimming yesterday and managed to do a further 2 lengths, so now up to 34, which I‘m pleased about as unable to go for walks.
Lie in this morning, then a haircut later.
have a good Wednesday everyone.

Hello. It’s the anniversary of losing my husband. Six whole years which of course feels like six minutes.DD2 and I were at the beach with doggy by 8am. Traffic a bit busier than it was on Saturday! But all along the verges are snowdrops and crocuses and growing daffodils ( not quite flowering yet)
DD1 was at the beach in Melbourne.
Home with a tired out but happy doggy. Then we went out to my favourite place for breakfast. With The Chap. He was quite sweet as he didn’t want to intrude. Then met someone I knew who gave me a huge hug ( kind of took me by surprise as I was paying my bill ) and I got a mouthful of her hair! I was probably still just saying ‘hello’ with my mouth open! We had a nice walk afterwards round all the snowdrop filled gardens ( with daffodils next in line to bloom).Had a work phone call so nipped outside to take it and could hear 2 woodpeckers then saw one.Saw a kestrel as we drove up too.
Home. For a little while. With people messaging me and checking in with me.Went into town to get some specific flowers at my florist. Parking Ticket machine out of order so I just chanced it but only went to florist and straight back. Came home and the florist had only been and delivered me beautiful flowers…could have saved myself a car journey!Went down to our woods and had a good stomp round. Lots of squirrels! Went to OH tree. It’s slightly leaning to the side and as luck would have it as we were walking back past the castle we met the ranger who I’d dealt with when we sponsored the tree. ( worked with her before) so had a nice chat and an ‘I’ll get that sorted! ‘
Stopped at supermarket on way back and met friend who’d already messaged me and I’m seeing tomorrow but got a big hug from her too.Home. Hello doggy. I know it’s teatime! And up to bed. Possibly not to sleep yet although alarm is set for very silly o’clock as I’ve work in the morning. It’s quite hard to fathom just how quickly time can pass. As in years. Just after he died and we were still sitting with him I’d told the kids not to make today a sad day but to do happy things. So yes we are still so deeply saddened. You’ve really no idea. However it’s a day to honour him and live life and to love life. So it’s been a mix of lots of tears ( which to be honest is my every day) and moments of joy and happiness in who and what I still have in my life. I’m so lucky to have good friends.10 -
MHags - Hugs.
For Tuesday
1 Swapped out today’s food for a healthy option, fish, greens, and brown rice.
2 The radiators are arriving tomorrow, one radiator is already off and wall behind it freshly painted, the other isn’t so easy, and it’s moving completely, so more painting needed when it’s done.
3 We put the scrap out, blinked, and it was gone.
4 Why when we are having work done have, I hoovered and mopped, ah well it’s a start point.
5 Disappeared down an archive site old maps area and spent hours literally looking around and comparing places.
For Wednesday
1 Took a month end metre reading, bought the bill up to date, will be doing weekly metre readings as something seems off, and maybe I do just mean their profits.
2 Sugar soaped the doorways and under stair's cupboard as they are the next on the paint hit list.
3 Chicken and sweetcorn roll for tea, and hm pizza with stuffing and sweetcorn topping for dinner.
4 Found myself shouting ate news, so turned it over – self-care!
5 The radiators arrived and thankfully they delivered them into the hallway as we were a bit concerned with moving them around, ones up, all finished off tomorrow.
6 A tiny tiny woodpecker arrived, right by the french windows I've never seen anything like it before, hope to see it again.
