Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Slept until 10am. Hoorah!
2) Started the tidying up ready for the house viewing on Tuesday.
3) Changed 2 beds.
4) A flurry of WhatsApp messages from Wildlife Club. We have a quiz each time and yesterday's was 8 piles of animal poo set out on a table (!) Guess who won?! At least I have expertise in one area!
5) Listened to our football team's match on the radio. It was a good match and a draw in the end.
6) Took smaller son to Sainsburys.
7) Looking forward to Casualty later.10 -
Happy Birthday weekend, Lainey.
Frith, happy ferreting there.
1 I’ve not been baking, dual reasons, weight and the cost of electric, but I’ve missed it, so today I cooked up foraged blackberries, that I accidentally left out of the freezer while packing it Thurs. in low sugar sponge cake, and not so sugar-free used up opened mincemeat to create tarts, and used the oven to also cook sausages at the same time, then popped it on full for 10 mins, to cook pizza slices through with leftover Christmas stuffing on top, tastes amazing.
2 Snaffling the above.
3 Watching the sappy You’ve Got Mail as it was on.
4 2 ferrets demanding I play up and down the stairs, not sure who is more worn out.
5 3 things declutter to the bin.

For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in, followed by boiled egg with marmite soldiers.
Made a loaf, de-bobbled a cardigan and sewed up a seam on a t-shirt which just leaves some winter socks left to darn in my mending pile but need some 2-ply as they are thick wool ones.
Over at the yard and took equine pal for a hack out, bitterly cold wind but good to be out & about.
Back home and Capt S immediately suggested a dog walk so coat didn’t even come off before out I went again, bracing walk and was glad of thick yard gloves in pocket.
The treat of a Chinese takeaway for tea, I had lemon chicken which was delish.9 -
Morning all 😊
Enjoying a lie in although I’ve been awake for hours ☹️ Listening to the Salt Path and reading on here.
Also speaking/messaging OH as he’s in hospital, having had his ankle surgery yesterday. It was a long day, arrived at the hospital at 6.50 a.m., he went down at 12.15 and reappeared at 4.45, I wasn’t expecting him to be so long! He was as white as a sheet, but had braved a spinal rather than full anaesthetic. He got some colour back after he had eaten a chicken salad sandwich, a yogurt, a pot of coffee and biscuits. He’s in a lovely room in a nearby private hospital but on the NHS, so very lucky.
I treated myself to a KFC on the way home, a delicious change as OH wont have it and quality does vary. Watched Gogglebox and had an early night.
Catch up on the washing as it’s a lovely morning, get newspaper as I didn’t get round to my once a week yesterday, a few treats for OH, then off to the hospital. He should be coming home today, with crutches and walking frame. As we’ve no downstairs loo we’ve dug out the commode I had when I had to sleep downstairs a few years ago.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone ☀️

So much to catch up on - congratulations and commiserations as appropriate.
Pleasures recently
1. trip to wales for more coast path. 39 miles in 3 days. SOme beautiful scenery, (some not so much. 'Dog poo alley' being a particular lowlight). the glamorgan heritage coast is stunning - unexpectedly so. we walked from near Porthcawl to just past Barry(bados).
2. Friends behaved for the most part. They are a bickery / argumentative pair.
3. Drinkies in the local pub plus a lish meal one night
4. seeing the stars - and particularly mercury and jupiter
5. excellent journeys to and fro. after trogging off to pembrokeshire and anglesey, this seems like a short hop.
6 - infinity. my bed
Have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Saw a TV cabinet going to free on our village FB page so had popped round and collected that by 11am. It will go in bigger son's new house.
3) Went to M and S cafe and did plenty of Arabic then went to Sainsburys for bits. Got bigger son the pasta bowls they wanted.
4) Came home and bigger son and his girlfriend were here and took nearly all of their stuff away with them (ready for my house to be viewed by a potential buyer on Tuesday).
5) The house buyer clean started! I dusted and hoovered upstairs then sorted all bigger son's clothes out and bagged them up, ready to go.
6) I am in the middle of making a roast dinner.9 -
Oooft at the busiest day we’ve ever had at work! Do not need to beat that record ever again!Don’t know if I can think of five pleasures…

decent tips!That’ll do!9 -
1 I created a bin bag full of gardening stuff until it got too cold. Also doing gardening in a teddy fleece jumper was a bad idea, I’m still picking bits of Rosemary and random plants out of it.
2 Spaghetti bolognaise with garlic bread for dinner.
3 Restocked the bird feeders, I swear the robin would have had it directly from my hand.
4 More decluttering, not as much as I hoped but still 3 files worked through.
5 Following on from the pension mse programme, reminded to update and email paperwork across for expression of wish.

Hello again.
Typical early spring day here - looked lovely from inside but very cold when we got outside.
PaulieHerts - hope hubby got home safe and sound and makes a speedy recovery.
Short and sweet tonight, I need my bed.
1) Celebrated grandson's birthday (after the football) with cake and fizz. He is now apparently old enough to drive, this is quite scary! Reminiscing about the gorgeous baby he was, first grandchild for us and a total miracle in my eyes. Grandchildren are a total pleasure and today I've been a grandma for 17 years.
2) Hubby much more like himself, went to take back the clothes he's not keeping and treated ourselves to lunch out. Very scrummy, have decided the diet will now take a back seat til we get back from holiday so had pudding too. Yum!
3) If we put a deposit on my summerhouse before 1st March we will avoid a hefty price increase. Chose one today and they are happy to adapt it to exactly what I want as it will be built to order. Double-checked with my bairn that he is happy for me to have it in my chosen spot and will go and pay the deposit tomorrow. Very excited, must treat myself to a birthday present more often!
4) Made plans for meeting up with my siblings for the first part of my birthday trip this week. We will be away from Wednesday until Sunday so I will be MIA here for a bit but I will be back!
5) I'm tired, been an emotional week and now it's caught up with me. The pleasure is the thought of my lovely bed (changed two days ago so just right now it's settled down a bit) and a lie-in tomorrow.
Night night.10
