5 for the past few days.
1 I applied for another what looks like amazing role, and the application process is completely quirky in a great way. I really hope this one comes through.
2 The radiators are moved and plumbed in they look great, now we need shorter curtains one end, and of course need 2 pairs as the long pair needs to match.
3 Ordered in
4 Dr referred over to hospital, what a day, home now and just eaten simple chicken and chips with salad. I did watch a lot of people spend a lot of time trying to get sweets and drinks out of the machines there. I was grateful I had a bottle of water with me.
5 A bit early for Easter, but 20p hot x buns were consumed.

Will keep 🤞 for you PK.
For yesterday,
Bed changed and hoover wafted around.
Driving to yard and listening to last KB show on R2, we already tune in to Greatest Hits for the SM album show so looks like we will do the same for Pop Master now.
Seeing 8 magpies in a field together, only know the rhyme that goes up to 7!
Another one who has already indulged in a Hot Xbun, with an afternoon cup of tea and while I read for a couple of hours, Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, interesting stuff.
Made a winter slaw and we had that with southern fried chicken thighs.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Another very decent sleep.
2) Did some Arabic. I am on unit 13 now, which seems to be a lot about the weather.
3) Tidied the house (or rather, kept it tidy after the huge tidy for the house viewing) and there is a load of washing on.
4) Went to watch the football at 3. A 0-0 draw but not a bad match at all.
5) Went to see bigger son and his girlfriend at their house (!) They have put everything away and bigger son has made a workshop in the cellar. I was glad smaller son agreed to go in and look around as well.
6) Back home now and in bed with 1 hwb. Will try and phone my school friend and/or watch Casualty and catch up on the radio shows that I did not get round to listening to last night.9 -

1) up early as worrying about saying i'd do the intercessions for today's diocesan synod - i've never written intercessions in my life, why did i say yes?! and why did i leave it so late?
2) caught early bus and sat top right front (best seat) and who should get on 3 stops down but the provost. She came sat next to me and i mentioned my concern re intercessions - she sent me the ones she'd done last synod and a lovely iona community prayer so i was able to write my intercessions phew
3) caught the bus back with her - got the top right front again (turns out also her favourite seat!)
4) leicester game with DrM. oh dear. 3 points for Luton though
5) home to a lovely supper waiting in the microwave to be reheated. having mum move in has definite advantages!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Bit of a lie-in then coffee & croissants.
We have finally received the additional help for non gas heating users, will be put towards an oil tank top up next month.
Spent most of the afternoon at the yard, tidied out my box in the tack room where years worth of “ I’ll just keep that odd bit of tack in case “ reside, tidier now and my leather hoarding paid off as I had a spare noseband that another owner could use.
Driving home and listened to last 10 minutes of Utd game, another loss and suspect as Fraser would say We Doomed!
Easy tea of pizza and the rest of the winter slaw.10 -

Hello again.
Back from my travels but, blimey, it's jolly cold out there.
Some lovely pleasures but hubby not well again so a bit mixed, anyway here goes:
1) Met up with my brothers and their wives for the first part of my birthday celebrations. Stayed at a most gorgeous Cotswold pub, our rooms were in the stables and a converted worker's cottage and were totally heavenly and very luxurious. What a treat!
Had a lovely time visiting Oxford, Blenheim Palace and then a very posh garden centre - though those words hardly do it justice... found some amazing things for my summerhouse so will have a return visit when it is built. In the meantime, found a couple of wonderful books in the bookshop there - well, more than a couple but narrowed it down to two in the end.
2) Had some wonderful food and wines, lots of laughs and good conversation, they are exceedingly good company. They also surprised me with a very generous birthday gift. aww!!!
3) Three days later hubby and I moved on to our city venue and the theatre on Friday night. Enjoyed it as best we could but his chest infection was returning with a vengeance and he was really not well. Yesterday had planned a day out and had another theatre trip booked but he looked ghastly and was very wheezy. He wanted to stay on so as not to spoil the trip but I think was relieved when I insisted we come home. Swung round by the walk in NHS centre, luckily didn't have to wait long, and he is dosed up with more antibiotics. Came home, he went to bed and is now looking quite a bit better but still very wheezy.
4) While he was asleep yesterday afternoon I managed to book tickets for the show we missed later on in the tour, also a hotel for the night so we won't miss it after all. Told hubby it is just an extension of my big birthday celebrations and he was really pleased that I will get to see it. Just hope the theatre managed to give our seats to someone else or that someone in not so good seats could get a free upgrade as it was pretty heavily booked.
5) I have balloons, cards, presents and a big birthday cake, courtesy of son and grandsons. They are coming in shortly for the ceremonial cake cutting (and eating).
So, a lovely few days, just a shame poor hubby wasn't well for some of it but the biggest pleasure is he is now recovering, tucked up warm at home, which after all is our most favourite place to be. Will get him mended and back on his feet and will then continue with my year of birthday pleasures.
My final 'sort of pleasure' for the day is that I had expected to wake up today, at this grand age, feeling grown up at last, However the reality is I didn't, just the same as ever - so that's a relief! I'll try again in another ten years!
Have a lovely evening - still not dark yet.11
