Hello.Well work came round quickly this week! Oooft! But day one is done ( hallelujah)
Up early and had a lovely walk with the doggy, just us and the birds. Slightly disconcerting when a police van went past then on the way back a police car went by in opposite direction. Not what I was expecting at 6am!Then in to work. Was going to walk but decided to do longer walk with doggy so took car.Very quiet then crazy busy! Oooft! Decent tips and despite thinking the day would never end it did.Dropped stuff off at boss and she gave me stuff from her fridge that she didn’t need! Will make soup.DD2 and the chap went out early to a new in town bake house. So I’ve just had a very lovely cake they’d got me and I’d some lovely toasted sourdough bread for my tea.I put the washing out in the line whilst it was still dark this morning and it was almost dry! Hurrah! Long May dry days continue 😊11 -
PaulieHerts -Union Chapel has been the site for more than one Spookymen's Chorale concert, last one several years back. & will travel far for anything Spookymen's Chorale......so, August in Germany, j'espère.😀#1. Winning🦚🏉 ways have returned. 4 from 4! &'s working yesterday's home scoreboard had nothing to do with it.😁🤩Late victory news from our Women’s 1st XV, on the long road to Birmingham Moseley, whose hope for 8 on the trot was curtailed by our ladies this arvo.👍2. More marmalade done, a rum lot.3. Asb resumed by toxic family, in breach of Police Community Standards/Behaviour Order, but & sustained by others. Have to report again tomorrow. Good, caring, strong and helpful church today.4. Dear 🦚🏉 boys yesterday. & progressed from scoreboard upstairs to serving post-match munch from kitchen downstairs. All so lovely and happy with the win, despite Sir being G. Earlier this season, G entered the senior changing room and said 'I don't like you. I don't like this Club, but I'll try and be fair.'...... ☹️ Something has to be done. Then the 1sts returned from Sidcup and many silly games, much singing and music, with the usual match post-mortems followed. All helps offset osp.35. T'internet - for all its double-edged everything, & is in touch with her 3 oldest schoolfriends, all in Cyclone Gabrielle's path. This is after record-breaking rainstorms during summer. And:#🤞for everyone.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

For yesterday,
Up early and small dog cuddles whilst reading my book.
Lots of radio listening, the Hurchers, DID, JAM and then switched over to a different station for Simon’s album show.
Roast chicken dinner, yum and too full for any pud.
Afternoon walk and saw a heron being mobbed by crows, too close to nests I guess.
We are re-watching the Dectectorists (again!) and loving it.7 -

Hurrah Hurrah Hurrah! Done. Done. Done. ( done in more like 😆)
Started the day reading and could quite happily have continued reading however…
Had to go to work but drove and it wasn’t pitch black. Not quite bright daylight either bit somewhere in between ( yesterday I was in early early so it was still dark)
Crazy busy day! Oooft but it’s done. Decent tips. Good company. Occasional laughter! Much groaning as it was crazy busy. But it’s done.
Doggy has an upset tummy so he was delighted with chicken and rice for tea and he’s had his two favourites here all day. ( DD2 and her chap)
She got stunning roses . I also got roses…slightly less extravagant ones but very nice all the same! And driving home and it was proper daylight! What a difference a few weeks makes! And washing was hung out again. Hurrah! And window cleaner came which isn’t a hurrah as I’m only half way through my patio cleaning which sprays muck everywhere! But they do look nice and clean if only briefly! And now I’m going back to my book!8 -
Hello.
Just popping in as hubby has taken big grandson to football training so tea is on hold til they get back shortly.
Will try and keep my pleasures brief today, I always seem to blab on for ages, so here goes:
1) Glorious sunny day, some heat in the sun and a lovely glowing - getting later - sunset.
2) Some of son's new partner's family came yesterday and we popped in to say hello. He is very happy, lovely to see.
3) Hubby was very pale and waffy yesterday afternoon, his cough and cold is really lingering. He went to bed for an hour or so and was then more his usual self but is still very tired. Will keep an eye on him but he seems a bit better today.
4) Sunday nights with the thought of no work on Monday is still a huge pleasure three years into retirement. I reckon going to work has traumatised me on deep level! I did carry on working for three years after my retirement date so have earned the right to be very happy not to still be in the rat race.
5) Funday Monday so met up with some old work colleagues - well, they're not old, they are still there but I'm not. Lovely gossipy lunch but I am SO glad I'm retired. We worked in a very stressful environment with some very challenging issues. Lockdown and cutbacks and people leaving and not being replaced have all added to the stress and a new management structure leaves the team feeling very unsupported. Scary stuff and on a very selfish level I am glad to be out of it all. Nice to hear though that a lot of the work I did has had ongoing benefits and is still appreciated and good to catch up on the gossip and news of old colleagues.
Haha, old habits die hard and I started my list of brief pleasures quite well but they've got longer as they've gone along. Oh dear!
Must try harder!
Off to sort very quick and easy tea then it's feet up and quiz night on the box - another pleasure.
Have a good evening all.9 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) House is vaguely tidy.
3) Went to English class. Nobody on my table knew what "humid" meant and (by a fluke) it's a word I know in Arabic so I said that out loud and felt like an absolute genius for a few seconds!
4) Went to M and S afterwards for a pot of tea.
5) Cut smaller son's hair! Took about 12 cm off now so he looks like a different man. Also hacked at his sideburns whilst he wasn't paying attention so he looks less like Guy Martin now.9
