Recent pleasures:
Binge watched and enjoyed Clarkson's Farm at the weekend 😊
Back a lot easier so did a little more at swimming yesterday.
Made a chocolate heart shape cake for Valentine’s Day and got a bunch of lilies from OH.
Sunny day so towels dried on the line and managed a short walk in the park.
Test results back, bloods all ok but chest X-ray shows light scarring on the lungs from previous infections and a slightly enlarged heart 💗. Not sure what the implications are but probably explains the shortness of breath and fatigue, telephone appointment with doctor to discuss next week.
Night all 💤9 -
1 Am I ever going to stop being surprised by price rises every time I venture out.
2 We pondered over the bridge today and stopped in at the range for lunch.

Quick 5 pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) The emperor came round for a cup of tea.
3) After I dropped him off, I went to M and S for a pot of tea and did some Arabic.
4) Bigger son might have a house! The landlord says he has got it but they are just doing credit checks. I parked outside and took some photos.
5) The emperor and I went out for the evening and I have just got back in.8 -
All ok thanks Highdays just feeling sad for a dear friend so not in right frame of mind, however
For yesterday,
Bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Over to the yard, there has been some issues on staff bringing equine girlie in so some reinforcement of good behaviour work done.It was a sunny day and good to be outside.
My friend came with her mobile dog grooming van and small dog no longer resembles a little brown bear!
Made a mackerel pie for tea and we finished off the wine from the night before.10 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Felt a bit tense first thing but went to Ludlow and looked around the charity shops (didn't buy anything). Had a pot of tea in the cafe and did an hour of Arabic and some Farsi.
3) Got back home and topped up the windscreen washer bottle and was trying to remember where the gauge is for the water for the radiator. Saw my neighbour and he looked for the water gauge as well then we talked about my car lights being awful at night as the glass (plastic?) has become crazed and dull. He said his girlfriend had sorted that out on her car so I drove down to their garage and she spent ages with different grades of sandpaper and a buffing machine and they are now perfect! I also adjusted the angle of beam this evening and they are like lasers now.
4) Bigger son popped in briefly. He is still waiting to be accepted for the house for rent...
5) My blood tests came back clear from the doctors apart from being on the very edge of anaemia. I had an emergency egg sandwich for tea!
6) I went to the other hotel as it was games night. The usual chess man was not there but the other man was and I was annihilated once again! I took some jaffa cakes in to sustain us. We then had 2 games of draughts. The name for the bishop is elephant. The rook is called a castle (or it would be if it was in English) and the knight is called a horse, reasonably enough. I already knew malik, malika and baydaq. The man goes to a chess club on Wednesdays. I didn't know it existed but he suggested I go to that. I found out there is also one in floody town on a Friday lunchtime.8 -
Morning! Very wild and windy here.
Yesterday was wet in the morning then dried up in the afternoon.Had to do some work stuff at other side of town in the morning so went to big supermarket at that end and got my caffeine free DC ( on special hurrah!) and popped in to charity shop and got three books for a pound. And some nice things for DD2 upcoming birthday in tkmax.Home and out to finish last bit of patio that needed cleaning, it’s such a big difference as it was rather grotty. And hurrah! It’s all put away as I’d just been leaving it in the living room at patio doors as I was just doing a bit at a time. Tidy again.Started new book and retired to bed early to read it.This morning I can procrastinate no longer and have a load of work emails to do!Have a lovely day.10 -
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a quick food shop, picked myself up a bunch of scented narcissi, just because.
Home, shopping put away and then back into town with small dog riding shotgun in the mini for her annual check up at the vets. We had to sit & wait for 10 minutes and they had a candle burning in reception which means that someone is saying goodbye to their fur baby, always gives me a lump in my throat as we’ve all been there but never gets any easier. That said our animal pals do teach us to just live in the moment and today my little girl was ok ❤️Lunch and then over to see my other girl, all ok and she got extra cuddles.
Driving home and lovely sunset, makes such a difference that the days are drawing out.
Easy tea, baked spuds with cheese & beans, bit of reading then watched a couple more episodes of the Dectectorists.9 -
Good day
I seem to have mislaid this week! Like The Lost Weekend but mid week. I have felt quite ill really so have barely moved from the sofa except to go to bed!
Hoping all the other missing posters are not suffering similarly but are all off doing pleasurable things!
Decided I would do a covid test. Thought we only had one left but we had three. Except there were none of the little vials of liquid! So that was the end of that. Wouldn't have made any difference anyway as I was already isolating because of feeling ill!
Fortunately feel a bit better today. Think I'll live!
Email today from B Gas asking for meter readings! We've had a smart (ish) meter for about two years now! Did the online chat thing and was advised we didn't need to do a reading. Email sent in error. Think how much profit Centrica could make it they were more efficient!!
Been watching Fortunes of War. Very enjoyable though a bit confused as to how Kenneth Branagh looks so much younger than Emma Thompson in it and nowadays he looks so much older than her!
Think I might pick my crochet up today. First time all week
Happy Friday everyone9 -
Hello.Up early though dozed until DD2 went out to work ( was reading and fell asleep)
Up and at ‘em. Went to supermarket to buy two willow trees with my tip money. Nearly got ran over on the zebra crossing by a very elderly gentleman!Home and bargained with myself…read a chapter, do some chores! So kitchen cleaned and hoovering all done. Then I really had to do work stuff. Done ✅
Mums NDN popped round to see me which was nice.
Hung washing out for a few hours this afternoon. A dry wind! ( was a wet wind earlier on)
Finished book.Had some nice seeded sourdough toast.Fire on. All cosy.11
