happy birthday @PaulieHerts
love the thought of an emergency egg sandwich @Frith
can't believe I haven't visited since Tuesday. for the weekend, now sadly behind me.
1) Saturday went to the bank to deal with a 🐸 and as always thought that was easy why on earth didn't i do that ages back
2) then picked up latest Raynor Winn from the library and have already finished it - brilliant book
3) invited to choose and plant a fruit tree in our community orchard - mum and I chose the Falstaff red apple
4) took the boys on the bus to get them a new bed - we had to go upstairs as there was already a dog downstairs - their first time upstairs, not keen, will remember that in future, but no accidents (phew)
5) home to read book (see above) then watched The Railway Man - amazing man, amazing film
and today
1) put the latest batch of home-made fat balls out and 2 robins arrived at lightening speed
2) walked to cathedral (dd2 had borrowed the car for guide camp) reading the Winn book then pancakes at young church nom nom
3) had worn out my thinsulate gloves so called in at Blacks for a new pair - they had a sale on so I got 2 pairs and 2 new hats - hmmm is that mse? but they are cosy cosy
4) watched leicester game with DrM. thought they played very well till the VAR decision went against them. Well done Man U, we'll have to see what we can do against Arsenal
5) episode 2 of The Gold. The boys are snuggled up in their new bed (i did consider one each but they always sleep together so got one large bed for them to share)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures over last few days1. Work done for this week, had to take 2 days of as back to hospital in Cambridge to see ds2 consultant.
2. Sold my car to C**zoo, got £2k more than offered by dealer.
3. Negotiated a £300 discount on my new to me 5 door car.
4. Good friends, family and neighbours-all make a difference to help me at the moment.
5. DS2 coping whilst I am at work, although he says it’s not easy. Although at times I feel like I’m on a hamster wheel.12 -
Good to see regular posters, you are always missed!
Love the Raynor Winn books DD.
For yesterday,
Bad nights sleep but it wasn’t my turn for a lie-in and small dog needed a wee NOW Mum so up we got, just before 7 🥱
Breakfast, Archers then out in the garden but neither my heart or energy was in to doing much so sorted my herbs pots for a bit then went back in to listen to JAM.
Read my book for a while then stirred stumps long enough to make lunch, steak pie this week.
Afternoon walk which was nice in the sunshine, thought Capt S got a march on towards the end then realised he wanted to get back for the Spurs match.
It was a clear sky so Jupiter and Venus were bright in the early evening sky, southwest direction.11 -
Good morning. Another lovely bright day. Such a blessing!
Happy Birthday Paulie. Sounds as if you're enjoying it!
Frith - you know what we're all going to say, I'm sure. You're well off out of that relationship.
DfV - I like the Anne Cleeves Shetland series. Best to read them in order if you can ( pretty sure I didn't!). Not so keen on the Vera ones though I like the tv series. Think the scenery helps on tv!
No yoga for me today. Although the lurgy has gone I'm still weary and definitely not up for an hour of bending and stretching.
Going to see my post op friend. First time since she came out of hospital because I didn't want to pass on any germs.
Leftover Monday. Pretty sure there's some chilli in the freezer so that's soon sorted.
Happy Monday everyone

Hello Everyone.
This is my first post to this thread. Today (Monday) has been quite an enjoyable day -
1) Did some cutting back in the garden first thing this morning. We have a huge garden and I am hoping to spend a little time each day doing chores, weather permitting.
2) Next stop...the library. I am very lucky that our local libraries loan jigsaws. I returned 2 which I had completed and chose a book. I really need to get back into reading. Years ago, I always had my nose in a book. Other things took over, but now I would love to be able to relax with a book.
3) Went to the gym after the library. It`s one of my favourite places. For over 30 years I have been really keen on exercise and classes at the gym. I am so lucky that our local council gym is amazing. My membership which is a premium membership works out at £20 per month. What a bargain !! I can use the gym, attend unlimited classes, have a swim, showers and sauna etc. Today I used the gym them went to my weekly yoga class. If I paid for the yoga class individually, that alone would be £7.
4) Our meals today were pretty much all from Olio. Lunch was soup and salad. Tea was chicken, potatoes, cabbage, stuffing balls and gravy. My husband and myself have 3 olio collections a week. We are allowed to keep up to 10% of our collection and the rest is to be listed online and distributed to people who request. I have a freezer packed with items from my 10%, and items that no one requested. I try not to waste anything.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful old style day x

Belated Happy Birthday Paulie.
Frith, hoping Mr Emp is long gone.
1 I’m cooking again which feels good, first time in a few weeks, batch cooked up a bolognaise, and cooked up a proper Sunday lunch pork roast.
2 Meal planned; well I made a list of things we will eat but who knows which day.
3 The first daffodil is out in the garden and loads of crocuses.
4 I went to sort today’s meal and found the unopened in date wraps were mouldy, not impressed. Change of plan to some sort of artisan pasta covered in bol, with a side of greens.
5 We have been looking for a very long time to replace a double Ikea unit we currently use as a ferret cage overnight what we use at the moment has been amazing and lasted 23 years now, we couldn’t find any quality second hand that has to be deep to be comfortable, so we found another Ikea unit, rather gob smacked at how expensive even ikea has become, I looked second hand and stumbled across someone selling most of the unit and now at £30, amazingly still available and just down the road from where DF used to live last night. We collected it today and are now dis assembling the older unit.

Hello and here I am again saying hurrah the big working days are over! A couple of work meetings later this week. But the big days are done. Hurrah hurrah!Up early
Busy day at work. Much to be done. Decent tips. Good company. Much laughter. Much singing.
Hello doggy. I am home. Quick wee, fed and then a proper hello! Him. Not me! The chap was here most of the day so he’d had company.Insurance chap called me, so refund given. Compensation accepted. Apology accepted. Calls are monitored and were played back and chap in agreement with my issues! Anyway I am now properly insured.
Lovely sunset as I was talking to him. Then fencing chap called so job booked in for a couple of months time. A bit ouchy price wise but needs doing and it’s a long stretch to fill.Sat downstairs longer than I normally do of an evening. I usually just come up to bed! Not necessarily to sleep but just to be cosy! Lovely stars in the sky in between the clouds.
Organising DD2 birthday ‘cake’ …me to her..what’s your favourite chocolate? Aha…and she just told me without even asking why!11 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not the worst sleep.
2) Got jobs done during the morning.
3) Off to English class during the afternoon where we all took games. I taught someone chess (much writing down of the rules in my best English) then luckily his friend came who could discuss the rules and tactics in their language. Like last week, they call the bishop the "elephant". Then his friend played two games against me and we found we both knew all the names of the pieces in Arabic, which is the language of neither of us. I got completely annihilated!
4) Went for a walk afterwards along the riverbank.
5) Steak for tea, with roast potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms and blue cheese.9 -
waves to all - that's another monday banked. actually much better than last monday.
1) the boys love their new bed and i got a decent night's sleep
2) the boys also love their walks with the dog walker - they were rather muddy tonight so have had a bath and now drying in front of the gas fire
3) at lunch time took time out to walk round the perimeter of the hospital
4) mum made some yummy lentil stew so had that for supper and lots left
5) caught up with the last 2 episodes of father brown with dd2MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
