Over the Moon!

There, the Admiral is quiet happy today, even if he did has a glass of the wobbleade last evening with sum cheese as well! 

Has the proper Boston Snorkers in toms last nite for dinner, topped with mushrooms and some peppers. Very Tasty!

After listening to the Theatre of Fish, we court up with the uni challenge!

Still over the moon.

Jen is being checked on Monday. Her days are numbered!

Well my day isn’t quite over yet…even I don’t go to bed this early but I am in my jammies as I got soaked earlier so had a warm shower ! 

Rubbish sleep. It’s quite ridiculous. But I’ve a sore shoulder and I roll over on it when I’m sleeping and it wakes me up but tonight I’m going to try painkillers before bedtime and see if that makes a difference. I’m just rubbish with tablets! 

Anyway woke a bit later than normal with a waah I should have been up by now…things to do, people to see 😀

Went to catch up with niece as she’s visiting my sister soon and I’d stuff to pass on. First time it’s been no kids so was actually quite nice just to sit and chat without entertaining a three year old ( as much as I love him😀) 

Lovely drive home ( drive there was rather rush-houry! It’s through stunning countryside and was a lovely bright morning. 

Went to big supermarket as came into town at a different direction. Got some daffodils and mini eggs and caffeine free DC. 

Popped into charity shop down that end of town and bought a nice pair of jeans and a pink jumper and a light scarf with robins on it. 

Home and hello doggy! 

Another bit of painting.

My sister called ( unusual , usually me calling her) 

Then I went in to the back garden and power washed patio for an hour. What a difference! Wow! Anyway still loads to do so that’s a job for tomorrow. 

Got rather soaked so had my shower! 

Have a gammon joint in the slow cooker and I’m just going to pop some veggies in to roast . And probably broccoli and carrots for tea.

Frith - Pilates?! Within reason, hurrah for the email. Anyone who gets monery for you signing up can come help sign up! A breakfast wrap sounds intriguing. Every now & again the medics have a fuss & it is ususally simpler to just cooperate. Wholly reasonably bloody annoyed.

LaineyT - it has been mild. Then, not so much. A nice sociable yard is wonderful! Aw hoovering out the Mini. "trot or talk" love it. A heavy frost but not wearing the fleece - tricky one!

Highdays - I wouldn't surrender the proper birthday parties just yet, just pace yourself? How wonderful to be able to say, and be heard, that what you want is to just potter for a bit!

Happycas - Canny DGD coming to you to escape & do homework! How are chunky handled hooks? I do love "Got as far as the giraffes"...

mhagster - ah muddy boots, & car tetris with chap! Sunrises and frost & sunsets & full moon - awed. Planning leave - good call. Paint spillage is Freud bored with bannister & spindles? Yeay pressure washer fun!

DundeeDoll - wholly right to have friday afternoon off. Yikles unwell dog, but love "fish fingers for grown-ups"! Surplus whiteboard markers - given to students, admirable!

BoP - chocolate eggs in your hands now probably should not be left til easter. Good to see being at the Tower hasn't interfered with your grip on sporting events. Snorkers - yum! Best to Jen.

topsyturphy - so please DS2 zimmering & there will be other times future. Upside is You spotted licence out of date. In all honesty 5 doors are such a blessing, you do adapt & wonder how ever did I?! Spot on with prepayement alas. A UC Claim - boring but worth it.

PaulieHerts - I do hope you add the physio fees to your sons account? And that it helps.

Suffolksue - yikes unprovoked angina is not fun - hoping fewer meds helps. Further meeting of wine group - excellent!

Purple kitten - hurrah Rhubarb & Custard both well & that you were surprised by informal call - best way to mop up information without anxiety ahead. Oooh, found cake!

Pleasures for several days!

Day off to remember, drizzle, update meter reads, phone contract, bank acct, generally take the finances & shake out any dust!

Lovely lady at medics who runs repeat prescriptions, ensuring I have pills this weekend & all this year! (Pharmacy similarly wonderful, but lack her ability to wring doctor’s signature.)

Youngest devouring yellow-stickered cream bun with absolute focus.

Celebration kebab - we’ve not had one in ages & at the current price & the "did it usually taste like this?" flavour, we may let that particular old way lapse. (Same money funds a glorious Lancashire hotpot!)

Middleson back from course & vigorously planning action to take in the kitchen. It has not been lovingly tended.

Listening to the mixing of epoxy resin & the guesstimate of colouring. He won’t make pseudo van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra shapes with leftover resin goop as “doesn’t make jewellery”….

Getting back into Elizabeth George - she writes the human condition under pressure so well. (Lyndley & Havers - so much fun, far better than the TV versions!)

Youngest bemused I will not join him even in one bite of Bakewell tart. Yet I swig tea.

How had I forgotten Lynley was bereaved? Havers’ approach to the chip butty is one I recognise, endorse & deploy (so long as in a strange city). 

Scrambled egg is delicious but it’s very hard to eat without cutlery. Amusing to try, though. (Son yipping in shock!)

Back to Pratchett & Night Watch. Oh, my… when I need restful escape, the gardens of Pemberley but when I want a familiar but livelier environment Ankh Morpork…

Family tree climbing & I’ve found a branch for whom Sherlock is a genuine Christian name. Hence several thereof! (Wills stupendously unimaginative - all to the missus. The default military option.)

Oh what a cracker - one lady was very MSE wanting her funeral to be “attended with as little expense as possible save & except a superior oak coffin”. Love the lady’s priorities!

What is the plural of inamorata? Logically inamoratae (I think) but why stick to logic if there’s a better way of saying the damsels with whom it is likely the two brothers will spend decades with & probably beget the next generation upon?!

For simple happy effective bribery, find Reece’s pieces. An endangered species in the UK, i acquizzed & squirrelled a stash & son blithely cooperative!

Manager being admirably supportive about my lack of enthusiasm for coming into the office (hours of commuting, expensive parking & still risk of sneezes of tears - the first two are not valid but the latter is understood.)

Family tree climbing - one branch absolutely army mad & reaping the inevitable rewards. Beautiful international memorials… Their sister was an impressive lady, born at one end of the empire & not minded to settle til she was over 70 & perhaps couldn’t outrun our weather.

Sister in law planning hol in Tenerife once her father in law safe in a carehome. Seems all her sibs-in-law have been globetrotting & she hopes the lads & I may. Leave the garden, just as it might blossom or even fruit?! 

Have met the Blundstone boots & am sore tempted but can't afford this month. Canadian relations & sister both swear blind they're worth every penny - can anyone else speak for them?

Health strength love & courage to all as have need, along with the correct paperwork, effective painkillers & reliable HWBs!

Pleasures for yesterday

1. A bit of normality, sat in my chair ploughing through emails and getting worky things in order.
2. a walk by the sea
3. a fat face cardi in the chazzer
4. bit more painting in new spare room
5. an evening of sea bass, glass of wine and The Dog House.

And today

1. HElping with the tree felling - though they won't let me actually fell the trees...  I was 'fire-wallah'
2. Beautiful day up the valley and great company
3. gin and tonic - i've earned it.
4. getting a parking spot outside the house (small victories)
5. looking forward to a similar evening to last night (see above) but replace sea bass with salmon.

@DigforVictory - I was really lucky one year. Elizabeth George was teaching a class here at our local college on how to write a mystery - and I got to go. Four hours on Friday evening and eight hours on Saturday. She was fabulous. Took us through the steps of planning your location, characters, sub-plots, everything. She used to spend six months in England writing each book - and would then come back to the US to plan the next one. Still have all my notes.

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)

1) Not a bad sleep.

2) Had my hair cut locally. They are chatty in there.

3) Dropped some stuff at the charity shop and bought a Seasalt tunic for £6.

4) Bigger son and his girlfriend sold the van today and looked round another house. They prefer the first and are just waiting to see if the landlord will accept them as tenants.

5) An English teacher reappeared to finish mending the shower screen for me. It went well this time and (after a very long time) does not seem to leak at all now. 

6) After a flurry of messages yesterday, which failed to make me jump in my little car and drive to see the gentleman, he has ignored me for 24 hours. I shall look back on this and laugh one day. To be fair, I didn't message him either so he is sulking, rather than ignoring me.

7) Bought stir fry from the butcher's for tea, which we had with rice.

8) Walked 2 miles in the forest.

9) I am now on episode 5 of Happy Valley, series 3!

10) Not in chronological order but I opened the curtains at 1.30am as I could hear something outside and there was a fox on the patio, eating the cat food! I have not seen one here before.

1 I may have added custard doughnuts to the shopping entirely last minute, all delivered. I often wonder what my mum would have made of the deliveries to your door - she would have loved it.

2 A bit more prep, all over by tomorrow afternoon.

3 A very needed catch up with DB.

4 Despite shopping, basics for food, chicken soup for lunch and oven pizza for tea.

5 Started gathering bits of research all over the place into a list of places that accepts submissions.

haven't been avoiding you bop just avoiding the computer cos I have a phd to mark - almost there
well done mariners, at least it wasn't as bad a score for us as 1996 
so for today
1) worked at home today so i could really focus - i do love my new office
2) had a lovely walk with the dogs at lunchtime
3) refilled the bird feeders including my home made fat balls
4) got a lift to the pub - it was chucking it down (and yes BOP i saw the grimsby goals at half time)
5) toast with marmalade with whisky - one of the small pots my dad gave us for christmas - yum

For yesterday,

A better nights sleep and seeing the sunrise.

Pottering around all morning, that did include some pilates but even more reading! Still powering through with Shardlake and all.

At the stables, decided on some groundwork in the school but two muntjacs made girlie jump as we went in so the first five minutes were a tad excitable.

Have seen a buzzard sitting in the same tree over the last few evenings, looks like he is facing the sunset and enjoying the last few rays.

Seeing that our U18’s got through to the quarter finals of Youth Cup and are off to the Emirates.

Has the paprika buzzard last nite with hot chilli sauce and rice. Peppers and others things tossed inn as well!

Doing a curse at the vpn for the Tower. Passed! Another certificate for the closet wall! Two brainy me, should be like others here, butt I is practical!

Will bee at the Jim tonite keeping me beeched ready looks up too date!
