A real pastiche of osps: steps back, but ultimately more forward over recent days.
1. The sadly anticipated, forewarned final midweek Communion with our wonderful S and husband, J, yesterday, followed by such a 'perfect tone' soup lunch. Many, many attendees and & not the only one with tears. A wonderful address, as it was bound to be. David Rayner warmly remembered again.
2. An offset to the whole day for & was, still is, the shock resignation of Aotearoa's truly remarkable PM, Jacinda Ardern. The way she spoke, the words she used mirror exactly what our wonderful S said to & in one quiet moment several months back. 'I'm burnt out. I just have nothing left to give.' & totally supports their reasons and salutes Jacinda's honesty, decency and clarity of vision about herself and what's needed. Clarke and Neve need her too and she needs to recover and rediscover her own self, unencumbered.

The viciousness of NZ's 4th Estate, entirely Murd-oick, has not a single Graun-style offset. It is shameful, especially to this former NZBC professional, when that organisation still proudly held sway.
3. Left the happy, full of love and caring soup lunch in time to reach P&R, thence to CAT and The Lavender Hill Mob with another total & fave, Miles Jupp. A brilliantly-staged, timeless comedy and farce, performed to a full house, BUT the row behind....😡😱😈. An entire gaggle of teenage girls who chatted, chattered, rowdily opened packets, plastic bottles, cellophane and foil bags and consumed contents, while kicking the seats in front. It was beyond infuriating, unforgivable, ignorant and crass. Not only & thought so. Come the interval, they were rude, obscene and cheeky to many who addressed them, but staff were made aware..... Hooray! Day saved! Nuisance removed.
The staff at CAT are superb, in response to any and every situation, yet so likeable and professional with it. & has experienced this both times recently.
4. And, double Hoorah! Not long since, P&R Mike has confirmed &'s left-hand red leather glove IS in their Lost Property.👍👌👏 😃 Off to collect it shortly.
5. Still working on Preview beyond 0230h today, going on to Club after theatre, for connectivity, pitch inspection latest and consequent updating/rewriting. Should be online any moment.
Big day tomorrow - Women’s and Men's 1st XVs double-header, with grand unveiling of the Women's Captains Board, Villagelife.👍
🦚🏉
Let me see....Yes!

Ampersand - the growth of women's rugby has phenomenal in the past few years
For yesterday and posting late
1. Reading my book on the bus to work.
2. A study day on human factors. It was very interesting and ideas to put into practice. I now know what I need to survive if ever shipwrecked at sea.
3. Early finish so managed to make it home early.
4. Beautiful blue sky.
5. A huge pile of ironing done.8 -
Bizarrely posted yesterday's post and it's gone, maybe I didn't press post comment, ahh well.
I’ve noticed a pattern in someone I know in the family, talked with them last night and they were back to toxic, it seems to be this time each year they are more than hurtful and unbearable, so excuse the musings. If I said back to her what she said, I doubt she would ever talk to me again, right now that doesn’t seem like a bad thing!
1 Chopped the top off the shampoo bottle to reveal about 3 more washes worth.
2 I procrastinated today finding everything to do and avoiding what I should be doing, feeling uninspired to write just now.
3 I did get the floors mopped up.
4 And stuck to the meal plans and cooked up rice and chicken.
5 birds on their second feeders of the day – yikes.

DundeeDoll - I know those teacakes!topsyturphy - hurrah, planning a recovery space - Excellent!Happycas - no tech leaves until you have figured how to wipe its memory/"full factory reset". Use a power drill if you can't.LaineyT - not just me thinking "that's daylight!"Suffolksue - the infernal tech...BoP - spreadsheets are the playground of Lucifer.VJsmum - ooooh, sauna & steam room in this cold - glorious!ampersand - left-hand red leather glove, meriva va, Women's Captains board - hurrah!villagelife - so what is the first thing for survival at sea? (Intrigued. My pyromaniac instincts would not help me.)Purple kitten - yes, sometimes family just do not abide by professional rules. Hurrah getting floors mopped anyway.OS PleasuresJacinda Arden - what grace: “not enough in the tank”. Deeply impressed. (I gather her countryfolk may be less impressed, but I am still smitten.)Gods to be the plumber of Stornaway! It was forecast to be -8 last night & maybe as high as +10 today & if that doesn’t spring a few leaks, the locals have been diligent in their insulation & caution…Observing Middleson roll out of bed for work - he’s been staying off the snacks & on the gym equipment & is looking very fetching, (if unwise) puttering in underpants alone. I hugged him: “argh, cold zip!”Hunting acorn vases - no success, acorns may be perched in Erlenmeyer flasks...My wonderful collegaues. We're on the same page as to why we get out of bed.Health strength love & courage to all as have need, and may all HWBs maintain structural integrity.10

PK - I know what you mean. If I said one single thing as bad as the comments I have received over the decades, the recipient's head would explode! In fact, I've just been through an exchange of text messages to see if it is as bad as I remembered. It annoys me how my messages were really dull, including a picture of a sunset. Those are not the type of messages I received in return... And you can bet they are not sitting there worrying about us!
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep, once asleep.
2) An online training session this morning. It was not really relevant (I found, once 5 minutes in). Anyway, that is Raising Awareness of Exploitation and Vulnerability covered.
3) Then a massive wait for a phone call. In the hour and 40 minutes I sorted washing, washed up, watered plants, fed the cat, put the recycling out and cleaned out under the stairs (30,000 bags for life). I could not stray far from the house phone. Also did plenty of Arabic. My book for Christmas (from bigger son) to trace the letters and numbers has now been completed.
4) I survived the DWP phone call. It was to prove smaller son is disabled, despite their having about 8 huge reports and completed forms in front of them. The phone call was an hour and a half. I described how he spends his days (unable to communicate, no social life, no one to assist me) and the woman, presumably picking up on how long he spends sleeping, said, "Oh, that sounds like the life of Riley for him". Hmm, hardly!
5) Popped to Sainsburys and have just eaten 90% of a box of baklava. Bought another birthday present for little niece who will be 8 tomorrow.
6) In bed with 1 hwb (though I will get up again!) and nothing much to do this evening.11 -
DFV - we had a l I've raft and most important thing was petrol as had matches so could start a fire and attract attention.10

Hello.I’ve had a very quiet day. I think I’m a daffodil just waiting for spring.Alarm went off at silly o’clock. And I went into work for an hour at silly o’clock. Had to defrost car so did that and walked dog! Multi-tasking! Then had to re-defrost car when I came out of work. Then it’s just been a very quiet day at home with a doggy by my side.Made cheese scones in airfryer. Lit the fire and started a book and I’ve just read for the last 6 hours and just finished the book! Occasionally moving to add a log to the fire!10
