@Frith - It has been awhile, but I have crossed the US several times on the train and done part of Canada. Always wanted to go all the way across Canada but haven't made it yet. Will he be in a sleeping car or in a seat? I usually took an afghan with me as a blanket as I couldn't afford the sleeping car. There are videos on-line he can watch about the train routes. The routes are much longer than traveling in England, two days and nights from Southern California to Vancouver, Canada. Some of the lines in California have been washed out. Not sure about the ones back east. How long does he plan to travel?11

1. Work went ok. Meeting by teams in afternoon so most of work admin done..
2. Surprised that a certain colleague was helpful.
3. Chat with DS1 and DH had messaged him and not mentioned wedding as is his way. I explained that DH best friend is unable to come to wedding as only gets back into country that day from holiday in USA and is arriving at Cardiff I think. Whole situation could be avoided. DS1 had explained he could come to service and evening so but just not meal part.
4. DH bought mussels for tea. He would have had a pasta dish he doesn't like otherwise. He won't apologise for what he did but will be extra nice for some time.
5. Reading my book.10 -
Good morning! My Tuesday was extra quiet…so extra quiet that I went to bed and never posted!Went to the beach wth the doggy. It’s about a 15 ( ish) minute drive away through the most stunning countryside which was all blanketed with frost and looked very pretty and wintery. Car was saying -4.5o on the drive down. The sand on the beach was actually frozen. I don’t know why this surprised me so much but I’ve obviously never been on a frozen beach before!
Anyway he had a good run and I had a much needed walk. Blow all the worky cobwebs away! Then it was home and fire went on and I think I only moved to add logs ! Very lazy afternoon!Today I need to be a bit more productive! I really do!Have a lovely day10 -
Glad that there is some resolution with the wedding VL
For yesterday,
Sunny but v cold day.
Another visit for my equine girlie, this time it was the vet to do annual jabs and teeth, he was a bit late but had been to an urgent case of colic which is enough to strike dread in the heart of any horse owner.
I had asked for some sedation as the last time my girlie had her teeth done she got really stressed, much better this time and the electric rasp made short work of a couple of sharp points. Sat with her in the stable whilst the sedative wore off and at one point she had her head resting on my shoulder, aww 🥰
Finally left the yard just before 2 so home cold & hungry, a big bowl of soup sorted both out.
Watched Mastermind and was chuffed to answer four questions about Thomas Cromwell correctly.10 -
Ten Days and it's on! #UTM
Tin Pots and Stands!
Court up with the uni challenge last night! Then the box thing fell back on a low channel, and the power switcher was on. The one who told everyone to switch, but not to read their meter! But then he told them too last March and people were hit with catch up bills! I did say on this forum that I fixed when he was saying other! Well he was selling credit cards last night. Not giving straight advice like Alvin Hall did! No wonder some are in a mess! Mr McCawber springs to mind and I did not do lit, I did proper stuff! Do people actually believe him?
Not much has happened, except our IT has decided that at lunch we is all to be fixed! Hang on, we fixed without your interference! Weather the connected thing works again will be anyone's guess!
Just realised I has too of mes peoples this morn and I am not ranting. Educationalists and Software keybored worriers!
Has the snorkers inn tom juices last eve for dinner. A special food of the Admiral!
Getting set two bee inn the Jim this evening. They are moving as the council, inn their wisdom block their car park (they park for nothing?) and everyone uses theirs. They be just over the road soon! So I will be even moor beech ready!
All is good here, Jen sends her(She's due for ripping out inn ...)
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9
