Yes, that’s the one DFV
For yesterday,
Changed the bed, hoovered & cleaned through, popped a few drops of essential oil in the hoover bag to prevent that doggie smell.
Also made a loaf and baked a batch of mincemeat muffins to use up the last of the Christmas stock.
Capt S home for lunch and came in the kitchen with his nose in the air like the kid from the bacon advert!
Decided on an afternoon at home and spent most of it with my nose in a book, had to quality check the muffins of course.
More food, this time tea which was baked ravioli with garlic bread, glass of wine as well, yum. Few games of Yahtzee with beloved.10 -
Morning all from wet, grey and windy ICT

2. excellent drive to wild and woolly wales. really enjoyed it.
3. Did a circuit by the sea. Sea was a bit wild too.
4. Meal out with friends - although as we always go to the same pub, the menu is getting a little tired.
5. my hot water bottle to thaw out my blocks of ice feet

Hello! I’m actually so warm in front of the fire I’ve had to take my big jumper off!! However if I venture out of the extension I’ll need to put a hat and gloves on😆
It is absolutely ghastly out there! So wild and just the heaviest of rain.Bit of a long lie this morning! 6.40am…not the usual 5am!We went to garden centre and had a very nice cheese scone…with a takeaway malteser slice for later. Was looking for kindling but wasn’t prepared to pay what they were asking but on the way back saw a basket of beautiful big, heavy glass baubles ( similar to ones I already have) reduced to 50p each…me, I’ll take them all please…12 of them. But they are very pretty and will look lovely on my huge big tree next Christmas!Met a friend and had a lovely chat with them.Home and hello doggy. He’s had someone with him most of the time recently.Kindling bought at supermarket for half the price that garden centre wanted but half as much as it was last year! Fires been on all afternoon and I’ve been reading.
Well after I hoovered and washed floors! Then I started a new book that I’m about half way through and enjoyed my malteser slice! Just waiting on fire dying down then I’ll fill a hot water bottle and head to bed. With an early o’clock alarm set! The quickest five days off each week 😆 I know I’m lucky that i can just work two but oooft they come around quickly!10 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son and his girlfriend popped in during the morning.
3) Listened to the football on the radio. We are now out of the FA Trophy as well...
4) Did lots of Arabic.
5) A rather boring tea but we have some sausage rolls to heat through to eat during Casualty later!
6) Floods have not gone over the defences yet but Hereford is in for a rough night.9 -
Friend came for lunch yesterday. I made smoked mackerel pate and we also had some breaded baked Camembert with red currant jelly, served with warm pitta bread, very nice. We watched the Glass Onion which was quite enjoyable nonsense, I preferred it to Knives Out. What with eating, chatting and watching we didn’t have time to play Rummikub.
I felt awful again this morning, but as it was OH dad’s interment, I dosed myself up with cold and flu capsules and we had a nice little gathering, followed by lunch at a local pub. By then the capsules had worn of so I had a top up and inhaler! Glad to get home and lay on the sofa. We watched 3 episodes of Rich on ITVX, which was quite enjoyable.
Off to bed now and I hope this lurgy disappears!
Night all 💤

1 Up and out for 8am hospital appointment, lovely lady was very helpful and all okay.
2 While in there instead of paying for parking, DH popped to an address to pick up a wood roll top bread bin, that we cut a hole in the side for ferret beds, for a whole pound off a lovely person on fb marketplace.
3 Then we went to a very local to the hospital garden centre for brekkie, and found they have an offer on for 2 which was handy and delicious, but I was very surprised at how busy the café was, but still, plenty of space between us to feel safe.
4 Spent a long while sorting out power of attorney’s finance and health for the in-laws, it’s changed since my dad’s. I think I’ve got to grips with what’s what now, printed them all off and filled in basics for now.
5 That clean to us bedding feeling, it takes a lot longer to change bedding when you have the help of 5 very awake ferrets helping with everything, but it's far more fun.

Hmm, malteser cake Mhags
For yesterday,
A lie-in followed by coffee & croissants, they seem to have overtaken boiled egg & soldiers as our preferred saturday breakfast.
Ye gods will this wind & rain never stop, only pleasure is we were safe & warm in the cottage.
Did get over to see equine girlie, the promised respite from weather never really materialised so, apart from a 10 minute walk in-hand, not much was done exercise wise but a long groom and a tack clean at least meant something achieved. Commiserated with fellow owners, think we all have our teeth gritted and sights firmly set on spring now.
Home and a very welcome cup of tea.
Chicken fajitas followed by the latest two episodes of Silent Witness, was glad that we had finished eating as gory and cushion of protection deployed.
