Belated birthday hugs & 🎈🤗
Yesterday.....1. Had a lovely bus driver this morning2. Got the later bus3. Lunch at work was divine, especially the raspberry topped crème brulée 🤤4. DD was well enough for school and a mock A level5. Have wangled an invitation for a colleague to an exhibition 6. Have booked DD and I on to a Greek myth workshop next month10 -
Yep, that’s the one Frith, we had it on record and must have whizzed through the gore warning so the first sight was a tad shocking!
For yesterday,
We had some sunshine first thing, very welcome after days of what feels like relentless rain, still very windy mind.
Chores and errands ticked off list, pet store for small dogs kibble and feed store for girlie equine balancer.
Lovely long chat with my uncle.
Over to see my horse, sorted out her feed, gave her a groom etc, by this time it was lashing it down again, sigh, wistful thoughts of spring.
Home, cold and hungry so roasted a couple of chicken thighs, along with carrots, parsnips etc, mini mid week roast.9 -
Art'noon all.
Tea - i drink rooibos tea, the first one in the morning i like in a 'bucket' (basically the largest mug we have clean at the time), I drink a couple more during the day and then, for some reason, get heartily sick of it. it's why i drink wine 🍷😂
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Tutorials went fairly well - apart from the whole hour where no-one turned up so I
2. did some Vietnamese on duolingo - inspired by Frith and her arabic and the fact that we've booked to go.
3. Managed a walk in between the rain
4. leftover autumn veg casserole for dinner = no cooking
5. went to the pictures to see Till. Very harrowing and distressing but (mostly) well done (I took a bit of a dislike to the music..)
have a great afternoon and evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -

Ah well PP just had some more with my tea! They are full of goodness!Up early with doggy then went back to bed and dozed off! Only woken by DD2 shouting bye on her way to work.
Had chatted to DD1 earlier.Filled car up with bags for charity shop and put a dog in too. Quick walk with him then we dropped stuff off then went to Lidl to get lactose free milk ( and maybe a pain au chocolat!) then big supermarket to get caffeine free cans. Then back home.Friend phoned for a blether.Started painting the upstairs landing. I hate painting! A few months ago I’d had a quote and the work would have been done while I was away on holiday but it was a huge amount of money and I just thought nah …I’ll slowly do it myself ( as in very slowly)
and keep the money for something else.Made sausages and roast veggies in the airfryer and sprouts and cabbage and peas too. Delicious ( especially those sprouts!)11 -
Sorry RL got hecticSent txt “ Your Amazon orders including a wood wobble balance board have been delivered by next door....” We’re Fascinated, but will leave it to named son to unbox. [He wants to develop his core musculature for kayaking.]Have re-read book on bleeding & burns. Peace of mind takes many forms! Then fun with triangular bandages I ask you, can you really go wrong with a triangular bandage? Especially when every uniformed scout wears one as a necker? Half the troop barrelled over to learn burns with their neckers as natty headgear!Son singing Away in a Manger whilst in the shower. “Be near me Lord Vader” nearly had me fall off my chair - happily I misheard him!Youngest has declared the apple crumble is in the oven “and in half an hour, you will be forced to have a bite”.Happily discussing How to Cook Sprouts. Sons' views blasphemous, mine “oh just boil for a bit”…
Health strength love & courage to all as have need as even in a pelting rush that's important.11 -
1 Rain was pouring against the house wall, so DH dug the ladder out and sorted the blockage out, then he decided to clean up the soffits as they were very grubby, great job done.
2 Food was a tomato soup for lunch, and from the freezer so to speak, turkey, stuffing gravy with greens, sprouts and some mini aunt Bessie’s chucked in to heat up.
3 A bit of a tidy up, and usual clothes wash rounds, more food out for the hungry birds.
4 Small CV re jig, applied for a role I would really like.
5 A top arrived I bought in a sale, I have to say I am very impressed, very heavy and quality velvet material.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Hoorah!
2) Bigger son had a good day at work and is on day 9 of not smoking.
3) I was at the cinema for 10am to help move sandbags and take stuff from one storage area and put it up on the stage. No flood yet but possibly later in the week. I was peeved today at the number of people who stand around watching and don't actually do anything! There is one paid member of staff who wanders about and has never said hello. One volunteer started a monologue about the police wasting time when "rainbow flags" are set on fire as that (apparently) is not a crime. I need some pithy retorts to fire at one or two people.
4) Still impossible to speak to the medical centre on the phone so I gave up and drove there to order the next fit note for smaller son. The big disability assessment is next week.
5) Back to floody cinema town for the dentist! The bit chipped off the back of a front tooth felt as big as a dustbin to me. She didn't drill, just put some stuff in it and zapped it with the special light.
6) To Ludlow afterwards for the charity shops and I found a Gudrun Sjoden top.
7) Back home and made 2 pizzas for tea from various bits that were left (peppers, beef, 2 figs!) but they were a bit disappointing. Made some lemon curd sponges in ramekins that were better.
8) My brother popped in with some tennis rackets for the hotel and we had a game of chess.
