Pleasures for last couple of days
1. Doggie had a groom, she looks lovely.
2. Work was done now on day off, will be worth it when I get paid next month.
3. Cooking up soups, sauces to use up the free food from Olio.
4. Took food into work so no spend.
5. DM is improving
6. Good chat with work colleagues who I don’t normally work with.
DFV - it was the first time I had used Olio, I did well got 3 packs sausages, butternut squash, salad, mozzarella slices, finest new potatoes, chilli’s, macaroni cheese meal, tomatoes, some fruit pies and a few other bits. I only asked for things that I knew I would use. I found it really easy to use.10 -
DundeeDoll - a fire alarm? That might take a few secoinds to be understood!Frith - argh not sleeping is not good. Fingers crossed on house offer!VJsmum - managing not to snigger at church is good. (Even better not if you are doing the reading.) OH had tea cooked - yum!ampersand - all hopes for car & awed that Mr Paulson managed to keep all 45 of you in one place for a photo.villagelife - coffee is one of those pleasures that is all too easy to underestimate.LaineyT - even ponies get the new year new you resolutions? Absolutely right to fend off headache with sleep.Kittikins - an office buddy & a good natter are special pleasures!topsyturphy - good to hear Olio working out well & DM improving.Educational half hour with rightmove. Retirement needs to be a bit further off or more ruthlessly saved for.Sis has blue fibreglass over plastercast - ordered black & metallic sharpies to be delivered to her - she may have dog prints & sketches rather than signatures!Mum grumbling a bit that the one room with the computer is cold, so we devised rules of lap rug & hot drink & hot water bottle before Any zoom call.Today's zoom included not just the balance exercises but also finger wiggling so when sis' cast comes off, she'll stil have some muscle! She's lots better than she was a week ago.Rousing cheers that non-domestic energy customers (like Scouts!) should fall within a new scheme for help. Must check the details so I can take it to the weaving museum committee this weekend!Health strength love & courage to all as have need & as the weather gets crazier, have waterproofs that can cope with wind?12

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A slightly better sleep.
2) Various admin type things done. My offer has been noted but they are going to wait to see if they get a higher offer, or an offer from someone who has managed to sell their own house... Spoke to my agent and we have reduced the price of my house.
3) Made some tomato sauce for meatballs tomorrow.
4) Tidied up a bit and did a load of washing.
5) Went round the charity shops after lunch but didn't buy anything. Saw my dad's old Landrover driving along as I drove home. I think he owned it from 1990-1995 ! It must be 40 years old now.
6) Took smaller son out to get a new extension lead for his computer after the old one made a sizzling noise!11 -
D4V, I googled your first retirements pleasure to be, but couldn’t find any information on it online, is there a link at all?
1 A pleasure to be able to deal with but not a pleasure, I didn’t spot the water bill hadn’t arrived, apparently a problem with their system, but it also meant payment was due immediate for 6 months water, I was more annoyed I hadn’t noticed to be honest.
2 A pleasure I spent the now I’ve spent their goodwill gesture I am really done after half of the order arrived! It may be Ocado in future.
3 Sorted out some more bottles of wine to gift MIL, given to us over the years by well-meaning people, they know people to pass it on to.
4 I got on and tidied and sorted, offered a briefcase and vase away, and tidied in general.
1 For today a lot of conversation and research over a property, I’ve opened a new worktop for property tabs as I seemed to be reaching 100s, It is a wonderful place, however it would be not rural, to the point of houses around, which we already have so a bit of umming and ahhing going on.
2 Tonight’s food will be fridge leftover aka, grilled chicken, last of the ham, the home-grown cress at the end of its time in a salad with some new pots.
3 Bird feeders re stocked, I do love seeing the woodpecker, who announced their arrival on the fence panel.
4 Offered inherited Samsonite case out free but no takers, so DH is going to up cycle? As a toolholder.

Hello. Just off phone to aunt as she’d messaged me to say uncle taken to hospital this morning so I’m glad I’ve had a chat with her.A quiet day. A very wet day! So much rain. And just when you think it can’t rain any heavier it does!Only went as far as supermarket.Chaps came to connect fibre cables for new internet…6 weeks after ordering! They were very nice.Friend over for dinner. Had RTC steak pie , leftover from work baked potatoes roasted, with parsnips and carrots, broccoli, cabbage. Very yummy. Then had an apple and pomegranate crumble for pudding .
I cleaned the fridge today so friend went home with cheese and olives and grapes!Watched the Harry interview. I actually wasn’t going to but I did.11 -

Perfect for longtime expat. &.
3. Suddenly see that daughter of family who brought & home from rugby on Saturday, shares her Capricorn birthday with & today. She helped scrumple up raffle stubs on Saturday too.😇 Only a hemisphere and over half a century separate us chronologically.😁
4. After osp1, was time to set off for update talk from Heather Johnstone on the Rehema Project. An hour-ish walk, no rain. Amazingly, was given 2 gifts! - but bought an elephant, a lion and 2 bags, reasoning 'No fuel bought over last 4 weeks of no car.'
5. BUT....car was gone early today, so & hopes S kindly squeezing in this pig of a job sometime during week - i.e.exchanging flasher relay unit - actually stops indicators flashing and some sort of 'normal' and independence returns.

& happy birthday
1. After meeting in Monday my manager asked how I was feeling. Long may it last.
2. A colleague helping me out. She doesn't know but at the meeting I was saying how good, helpful and hard working she is as she is often overlooked.
3. Been told I have another 5 hours of leave to take. It is from having Covid on a bank holiday Monday over Christmas. Wasn't expecting it. Not quite sure how 5 hours was calculated but not complaining.
4. Took lunch into work - that's everyday so far this year. The money is being saved.
5. DH home before me today. He had to move the bins from the drive before he could drive in. As it was raining that was more of a pleasure as I didn't get wet.
6. Toast with grapefruit marmalade for breakfast. I finished it but have enjoyed thejar.8 -
Happy Birthday & 🎉
For yesterday,
Despite early night and good sleep I felt tired so after a few chores I embraced my inner sloth and read my book for the rest of the morning.
The rain was heavy all morning but with small dog cuddled up with me and a mug of hot blackcurrant squash all was cosy.
Big bowl of veg soup and a slice of cheese of toast for lunch.
In the afternoon made a visit to elderly friend, she is now in local hospital for rehabilitation. She was quite sleepy but enjoyed one of the marzipan sweets I had taken in, she is particularly fond of marzipan.
Watching a very gruesome episode of 24 hours in A&E between my fingers, it was an injury sustained by a woman on a fun run so just goes to show how dangerous running can be 🤣
