Highdays that sounds awful, I know what it’s like with an adult son taking advantage without any appreciation, but at least mine doesn’t have children! You go away and enjoy your birthday and not feel you have to entertain others!
OH happy that Scunthorpe beat Maidenhead yesterday (first win in 10 matches) 😊
lunch, chat and learned to play Rummikub at my friends on Friday, got the hang of it and enjoyed it.
Not felt right over the weekend, coughing and heady, tested negative though. So not done much, binge watched and enjoyed Light in the Hall and looking forward to Happy Valley tonight.
Nice food, chicken fajitas Friday, chicken Kiev Saturday, and pork with apples 🍏, onions and potatoes today.

I like a good moan, Highdays, so indulge yourself! It sounds as though there are a lot of things going on. If I could give my two penny's worth about birthdays, we have found all meeting up for a cooked breakfast in a nice cafe works very well. Everyone enjoys it, doesn't last long, then you have the day to yourself! And it doesn't have to be on the actual day. I hope you are choosing an excellent hotel.
Steady, Suffolksue!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) House clean and tidy and I cleaned the bathroom. Just a bit of drying still on the radiators to be put away.
3) Bigger son and his girlfriend came round at about 1. They cooked themselves a baked Camembert, then chicken wings. I went out at that point (had already eaten) and when I came back, they had not only given some to smaller son but washed up and cleaned up after themselves! Bigger son is on day 2 of giving up smoking (5th attempt - he usually manages for several months) but day 3 is the grumpiest day.
4) I went out to M and S cafe for a cup of tea.
5) Am weirdly organised for tomorrow/next week with a Sainsburys order coming at 9, a cake for bigger son's lunchboxes, my lanyard found and ready for invigilating at high school tomorrow morning AND the donated footballs and hoodies ready in the car to take to the asylum seekers in the afternoon.
6) Have done hours of Arabic today as it was one of those days where, after several difficult days, things suddenly make sense. Soon it will overtake Welsh on Duolingo as the language I have practised the most.10 -

Highdays - it's your birthday. Make it easy for yourself and what you want to do
1. P!eased to get up after a rubbish sleep. Sent an email to my work email at 4.30 with points I need to makers a meeting. Slept bit better after that.
2. Cleared out a drawer and things ready to take to charity shop .
3. Trip to rugby went ok. Got on a train that was advertised as stopping at Twickenham. Announcement on train said it wasn't! Got off at first stop and DH asked the driver. He wasn't going to Twickenham.
Then asked platform staff which train goes to Twickenham his response was the one you have all just got off! The group of around 25 supporters figured it out without asking platform staff any more.
In way home there was an announcement that a train wasn't running because it was lost.
4. Got very wet walking to rugby from station and we lost the match. Still enjoyed going .
5. DS2 has properly started marathon training.
He had lost a tooth from his denture eating a sausage roll on Saturday so decided to glue it back into place. It was only after my enquiry that he checked it was non toxic glue.10 -
Ouchy indeed SSue, arnica is good stuff.
It is your birthday Highdays so only right you decide.
For yesterday,
It was my turn to get up for small dog but she was still snoozing when I came downstairs so slow start.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge, had a tear in my eye when Chelsea & Brad did their thing!
Made the most of the dry weather to do a few quick jobs outside, checked tyre pressure on car, check oil level in tank and topped up bird feeders, came in at midday just as the rain plus JAM started.
Rest of the day was a lovely lazy Sunday, did some Pork Belly with mustard mash & red cabbage for a late lunch followed by a quick walk with small dog.
Two more episodes of The Light in the Hall followed by Paul & Sukey motorhoming around the Cotswolds.9 -
Good afternoon
Highdays - I try to do as Dylan says ' She knows too much to argue or to judge' ...but..this won't do! At the very least, your birthday is for you! Go away. Don't tell anyone where you're going. Don't apologise. Don't explain.
Sorry. Too bossy?? But I'm really cross on your behalf. Hugs x
S Sue - hope the bruising is subsuding. Bet you're looking very colourful!
