Somehow never pressed the send button! Even windier now!Hello! Wild and wet and windy out there!Today : Lugged the rugs into new positions. They are about 2m by 3 m so a lot of lugging! And try lifting of legs of furniture to shove the corners under.Doggy walk. Thankfully she was okay ( sore ) and her poor husband got such a fright too. Checked her again before we left.Home via supermarket! I’ve been taking a vitamin and was running low and DD2 had finished the ones she was taking so they have a 3 for 2 offer at our local supermarket. May also have got RTC tube of smarties! The continuing of the shifting of the rugs! Three huge rugs needed manhandled! I feel like I’m constantly hoovering just now as dog is in series casting mode.Bathrooms were cleaned.Moved onto series 2 of Happy Valley.Chat to friend on phone and then popped out to pick up something for her that someone local was giving away free. That’s when I realised it was rather wet and wild!Don’t need dinner as had big lunch and smarties! And alarm is set for silly o’clock. For the first time in a long time. See if I can remember what to do!9

Hope all is well after your mercy dash Highdays
Know exactly where you mean Ampersand friendly chap, very jealous over your trip to the CAT to see Miles Jupp.
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for provisions and a treat for myself, big bunch of tulips.
Filling my car with petrol and pleased to see that the prices have at last dropped, not so ouchy as it’s been.
Cleared away the majority of festive decs, just left out a few generic winter bits so it didn’t look too bare and the two vases of flowers helped.
Chat with one of my ladies and better news from the daughter of another, hoping for a visit next week.
Over to see pony, didn’t tell her that I’d booked vet for two weeks time to have yearly jabs plus teeth rasped!
Earlyish night, reading book and listening to wind howling around cottage.10 -
Pleasures for Thursday
1. Now on 2 days off.
2. Took Tuna salad & overnight oats into work to save spending
3. Drove in due to rail strikes, traffic better than expected.
4. Good Colleague’s
5. Chilli made in slow cooker for Ds2 tea and some for freezer.11 -
Oh heck. We'd drifted off the first page again!
Up early today for DH fasting blood test. ( actually I'm always up early but he isn't!). Had to go to a cafe straight away afterwards before the poor love fainted from lack of sustenance! ( nothing since 10pm the previous evening😂)
Went to Dunelm then for a cushion to replace the Christmas one and came out with a cushion, a pair of curtains and a panda. Oh and 4 mince pies from the cafe. Everything greatly reduced, inc mince pies, so couldn't leave them behind 😂
More post-Christmas sort out going on. Spare bedroom has become a dumping ground! Trip to the charity shop is needed - to donate, not buy anything!
Signed up to a floristry course with DD. One starting next week is fully booked so we're going on the March one. Looking forward to that.
Crispy fish burgers from my new cookbook for tea. Nice to try something different.
Happy Friday everyone

Art'noon all.
Hope all is OK HIghdays
Pleasures for yesterday
1. reading all of your pleasures
2. reading some of my book - "HIs Dark Materials: The Amber Spyglass". I've read the other two and started to watch series 3, but didn't know what the heck was happening so decided to read along. Had struggled to get into it, but am finding it easier now.
3. We were going to go for a walk in the hills, but the weather let us down (again 🙄), so just did a circuit by the sea.
4. watched some home video - DD was soooo cute
5. Cooked harissa chicken for tea. Was lush.
Have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
many thanks ampers the scan shows no change except the fluid has gone which is good news - she'll need to wait to see the hepatologist re the liver but the scanning person thought it looked good news.
1) last day of annual leave (boo) so lazy morning (hooray) reading my book in the bath oh and got my washing done and almost line dried as lovely windy day
2) broughty ferry with mum - mhags will be able to picture it well - we dropped lots of squashed cardboard boxes at the recycle, the dyson at the dyson mending man then went to Gillies cos mum needed to see the curtain lady
3) fell in love with a bed - this is one day after i started looking online at beds (current one springs broken i suspect from children bouncing on it when it was DD2's) - bed had extra 20% off, would be rude not to! bed arriving wednesday and, thanks to mrssd's decluttering thread, all i've had to do is sweep under the bed to prepare for their arrival
4) then off to garden centre for lunch - found a lovely penguin with dd2's name on, half price, nice little thank-you for her help with moving furniture, that and the fact that today's 23 mins declutter, finally emptied her office of stuff that had been dumped there during house tetris. oh and mrpiano's sister has been in touch to collect his stuff, hopefully one evening next week
5) then walked the boys and wombled 50p (i think wombled is the right term ampers?)
Right, still need to finish my 'how delighted i am to be a professor' talk for next week, it's on pronouns and professional identity, I have of course got Luton Town Football Club in on slide 3 bop 🤣

Hello. It’s been a day of much weather.
Absolutely wild first thing. Was in at work the back of five ( this allows me time/space to work) quick doggy walk before I went. Then another quick ‘wee’ walk when I got in.Took the stepping stool upstairs to look for something which I found. Put them up for offer on local FB page…I’m only using it this month for selling/give away purposes.
Can I have them said someone and then hasn’t been back in touch. Grrr!
Whilst I had the stool I sorted out the top shelf of my wardrobe so now have tidy jumpers. A bag of clothes for charity filled.Made cheese scones in the airfryer! I deliberately didn’t buy butter but then remembered I’d some left in the tiny butter dish from NYD! Just enough to melt on a hot scone!May have had a snoozette! I’d woken at 2am with a noise coming through my dream. It was actually a cat outside, yowling ! So was a bit wide awake then got back to sleep after 3am for the alarm going off at 4.30am .
Hoovered upstairs. Did a mini ironing as I had linen napkins. So all DD2 uniform ironed too!By this time the wind has blown itself inside out and we had a lovely blue sky.Walked around to friends for an hour or so. Walked home in darkness. Then DD2 was dropping something off for me at another friend so took me along too.And finally in and ready to head to bed!9 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did some Arabic.
3) Paid smaller son's cheque in to his bank. Bigger son can't find his bank card for the account for that bank. Smaller son needs a proper adult account so he can photo cheques and pay them in that way. That is something to research - whether he can take advantage of any "golden hello" offers when choosing a new account.
4) I parked near the potential new house and thought I would try and walk round the back of the garden, to see what was there and how noisy it would be. It turns out the public park does not go as far as I thought. I managed to steal away down a little track (no trespassers signs up everywhere!) and behind the house is a huge pool owned by an angling society. I looked at some swans and a moorhen!
5) Had a cup of tea in the Greek cafe.
6) Back home and changed the bunkbeds, did lots of washing, did the washing up mountain and hoovered and steamed the floors downstairs, put the rubbish out etc.
7) Bigger son popped home temporarily so we had a chat.
8) Made pizza and potato salad for tea.
9) In bed now and might get a hwb and a cup of tea just now.9 -
1 Made a grilled bacon and poached egg roll for brunch, Dubious if this is a pleasure but a pleasure its done, after setting off the smoke alarm making brekkie, which in turn alarmed the ferrets and made me think it doesn’t normally go off, I realised the oven needed a deep clean so got on with it, and while waiting for things to work on it, I then hoovered the whole house and wiped down the landing and stairs. Now having a cuppa feeling like I’ve over done it a tad.
2 Aired our bedding, clean bedding on for us.
3 DH saying he was impressed, we haven’t been food shopping for a while now, but we will have to next week, he opened the fridge and of course I’ve planned from the freezer for the next 3 days, he doesn’t think ahead or plan when it comes to food, thou I have been doing it for many years think I should maybe be insulted 😊 Anyway, meatballs, chickpea pasta and grated bendy veg made a dinner, dregs of Christmas cake and freezer cake warmed up and served with leftover baileys cream.
4 Watched the new Father Brown episode.
5 I’ve been actively unsubscribing from junk and going paperless where I want things as they come through so far.
