Had a flurry of surveys to do in the morning.
Popped down to the GC for bird seed and found a diary in the sale for a £1.
Eldest niece and hubbie popped in on way back from bike shop, natter over a cup of tea and enjoyed hearing all about their trip to Oz.
Made a big batch of Bolognese so tea was some over a jacket spud, watched a couple of old TOTP programmes.

& I've spent many an hour watching DS2 play mini/junior rugby at Westcombe Park. It always seemed cold and wet there.
For Thursday
1. Bus to and from work. Managed to send a coup!e of necessary emails and then read my book.
2. Work was quiet for once so sorted out leave for the year.
3. Had a healthy lunch and tea.
4. Chat with a neighbour
5. Some decluttering done and house looking tidier.
For Friday
1. Had a lovely dog walk. It was sunny and dry. Saw some deer. It cleared my head.
2. Met a friend for coffee and had a catch up. We put the world too rights and exchanged Christmas presents.
3. Long chat with DS1.
4. Cakes from a patient of DH and she is sponsoring him for running the London Marathon.
5. Finished my book.10 -
Frith - how are you finding Arabic? I'm already on the lookout for another language to try, although DD did seen quite interested at the thought of leaving ancient Greek with me over the summer.
VJsmum - I always call finding money Reverbing after a poster on here many years ago, Reverbe, who was a whizz at spotting lost coins!
My pleasures for yesterday:1. Lovely chats with DD after her second A level mock exam2. lovely cuddles with the kitties3. Worked from home, well my bed, yesterday 😄4. Had lots of help from a colleague when I discovered that what I thought what was all of a certain task (I'm basically a posh party planner a lot of the time) was only part of over of three events linked in to this particular area! A little bit mind-blowing and I've had to do a lot of research and ask colleague a lot of questions, but feel that I'm getting more of a handle on it now.5. Loving the fact that at 5pm, I shut the lid on my laptop and don't have to think about the above until Monday at 9!10 -
Purple kitten - your leftovers made it to the freezer? Awed. Steady with all the cleaning! Reserve some energies for fending off junk. New Father Brown?! <scampers off to research!>Frith - what is a match ball & how do you tell? (Suspect not stamped with Swan Vesta) Sorry, complete veldt of ignorance. Love house with angling neighbours - at last place they were neighbours over road & excellent - very quiet, well behaved just one day a year maintenance - whole families turned out. power tools, but then back to beaiutruful quiet. Worth checking how long their lease is.ampersand - Meriva est morte? malade? chatouilleuse? Delighted loved boots in the hands of a craftsman who appreciates & will return them to functioning beauty once again.DundeeDoll - the bowl looks delicious! Cello joys & livers can hopes. Phew all sounding hopeful & wow Mr.Piano's sister in touch to relocate another tile from house tetris! I thought one 'wombled' bits of paper/useful receipts, but 'reverbed' dropped money/coinage... Could easily be wrong.mhagster - rugs & hoovering & Haggis & lots of weather. Oh, tiny butter dish & ironing as linen.LaineyT - tulips are glorious - absoliutely as loving as checking jabs & rasping booked. I've not seen any tree with a calendar, I think you can wassail when it suits you.topsyturphy - yeay 2 days off! Go steady with the cleaning - energy & time off are finite.Happycas - Dunelm is very skilled. Well done planning donations to charity shops.VJsmum - home videos are lovely.village life - leave sorted - magic words! Dear heavens, your DH is a marathon runner?!kittikins - the other joy of academe, you learn so much!Lost much of Friday as head rather stuffed with cold. However:I can count on my sister for the unpalatable truth: “you sound a bit rubbish”. Other family disagreements are filling the news & making returns to tolerance very difficult. What is this “viking toast” thing? As while I do love Welsh rarebit (we call it rabbit), I do not see anything wildly ‘Viking’… Pleasure is I can ask, here! The weekly shop is rarely amusing but behind the paper mask again? Youngest (sounding like three TB wards in competition) insisted I stay in the car. It almost worked, & now I am back home & bring plied with tea HWB & a cream bun. Love his home remedies!Middleson, having wielded the clippers to good effect, insisted I do the nape. (He can’t do a smooth curve behind himself, so I’ve learned.) Both of us pleased with the outcome, even if he feels like ActionMan.Pizza for tea! And cold for tomorrow breakfast. (Cheerful wicked old student habit.)health strength love & courage to all as have need & may your HWBs stay hot!9

Hello. A very quiet day here. I’ve got a very sore shoulder that is not looking forward to returning to work. Had it looked at and given exercises to commence. ‘Try not to lift anything heavy’…oh that will be everything at work then! Anyway pleasure is I suppose I’ve had it seen.Alarm clock set. Bah! It’s been three weeks off and I suppose I have to go back at some point! And it was just fortuitous the way the public holidays worked in with my working days!A day of much weather again. Sun popped out at one point but mainly rainy.Person finally came to take stuff away. I find I’m very well I’ve decided it can go so I need it to go now! NOW!We all shared a nice takeaway ,that the chap collected.Watched new drama that’s been on C4.Dog snuggles. Always a pleasure.11

many thanks all, reverbed it is. girlie day today in Glasgow with dd2 - her friend is having a very tough time at the moment and DD2 is doing a lot of supporting. So today I felt DD2 needed a bit of pampering though #1 was defo dundeedoll pampering!
1) My current fave handbag is wearing out - it needs to hold 2 pairs glasses, 1 purse, 1 pass, 1 phone and some small other bits and bobs but fit in my work rucksack, and have a shoulder strap so i can wear it at the pub when i'm watching the footie. I've bought 2 previously judged by eye rather than testing and they've been a bit too small. We wandered into Radley and just as we were wandering out again I noticed a bag which looked about the right size. So i asked the sales assistant if i could put above mentioned items into it. they fitted. and it fitted in my rucksack. and it had a shoulder strap (and added bonus of handle) and of course is a cute Radley and should last for ages. It was in the sale
2) went to Nero for pastries and a coffee. Then dd2 went off to get her nails done (her nail technician moved back to Glasgow last year) and i got my laptop out to work on my talk for next week
3) then we had chips from DD2's fave Glasgow chip shop - very yummy
4) I'd said to mum I'd get Chinese on the way home so that's what we did
5) and shared a chocolate orange for pudding

1. Being able to get all our washing done at Beloved's work today, whilst we wait for engineers to come and fix our dead machine.
2. Free parking at his work right in the middle of town.
3. Ended up having a bit of a pamper day: had my eyebrows and nails done by really nice ladies at different walk in salons.
4. Bought some great presents for Beloved's niece and a couple of other people in the sales and had great chats with assistants in the shops
5. Beloved bought us dinner to say thanks

DfV - a match ball is (I think) a ball actually used in a match. They have different markings on them each season so smaller son could see there was a 2021 match ball in the net.
Kittikins - I am enjoying Arabic very much. I can still make errors in reading (the Arabic alphabet) if I don't pay attention.
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son and his girlfriend got here at 9ish and we went to look around the house for a second time. Better in the daylight and at the foot of the garden we could see the few saplings then there is the pool! Bigger son liked the garage.
3) We went out for breakfast afterwards in the cafe. It was a bit weird as my ex brother in law (bigger son's uncle) started queueing for a takeaway sandwich and drink... then so did a woman that he is very obviously having an affair with. I mean, she joined him in the queue. Luckily, he didn't see us. Randomly, today I have been a single parent for 18 years.
4) Did some cooking in the afternoon as I had lots of Greek yoghurt left. Made a cake and some muffins.
5) We had a Chinese takeaway for tea.
6) Spoke to my school friend on the phone.
7) Might get some fresh hwb and a cup of tea and watch Casualty in bed just now.9 -
Pleasures for Saturday
1. Doggie slept till after 9 and so did I😊
2. All decorations now packed away, ready to go in loft
3. Free food from Olio, some in freezer, some used for tea, some in fridge, - this was first time of using and was so easy.
4. Roast potatoes & roasted veg with thin beef steaks for tea
5. Long walk today and coffee with friend, managed to dodge the rain.11
