Not much to report as cough/lurgy lingers, so sloth mode continues .
i did manage to keep my hair appointment on Tuesday, although you wouldn’t believe it now as it looks a mess!
Shopping at Lidl on Wednesday, although that was exhausting as I left my phone/credit cards at home so had to come home and then go back to pay, then when I got home the second time I found I had been charged twice for one item! Sorted out with a credit on line but must start checking receipts whilst at the shop as it’s not the first time! I once got charged for 39 bags of carrots 🥕 instead of one 🤣
Watched too much rubbish tv but did enjoy The Apprentice last night.
Friend coming for lunch/2nd round of rummikub, although she did say she wants to watch The Glass Onion, hope I can stay awake!
Have a good Friday everyone 😊

For Wednesday
1. Caught bus to work. Enjoyed reading on the journey.
2. Work generally good but find it hard to deal with a couple of very lazy people. Neither manager was in which makes them even laxier.
3. Took lunch into work.
4. Spoke with DS1 mainly about wedding plans.
5. Arranged to meet up with friends.
For Thursday
1. Early wake up to get to airport.
2. Flights and car hire all ok.
3. DH mobile not working. Used mine and EE sorted it very quickly. We are on an old contract which still includes freecalls, texts and data roaming in Europe.
4. Warm weather and sunny. It is about 16 during the day but chilly in an evening.
5. Lovely meal of fish.

Oh MHags, the current Albatross, bless her, loves them sprouts! Though they do not seem to get into the shopping trolly when I do the emporium run at the discount surplus store!
Friths. 18 years no cigs!
Oh the Discovery! Reminder. #UTMI'm Here!
Seems this new WfH is going well. I is able to food Kitty all day and she does love her mix! She is growing, but she somehow seems to Growl Purr a lot. That is how relaxed it is with the Admiral!
Usual things at the end of mes Giddies, only has the soup last night. No need to call the Quack centre as they have to deal with the cut fingers. Will has one moor perfection of the Wobesin sauce for your chineses tonight and release the recipe inn the morning. All tested by the Albatross!
Watched the football last evening and good to see Chelski falling. We is goooooooners here! Since Charlie George in '71. Fruit waters and cheeses were taken.
Must do me work now as the connexion to the Tower is inn place.
Jen sends herI work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!9 -
Glad all went well with your inaugural professor talk DD and yay to all that support.
Hope you feel better soon PH
For yesterday,
Into horsey town, dropped a bag off at CS and picked up a few fresh bits of F&V.
Got through to my bank and opened up another savings account, the lady on the phone had also had the dreaded flu over Christmas and we commiserated over the sheer nastiness of it all.
Over to see equine girlie, the rain had actually stopped by this point but still so windy, did a few bits with her and chatted to fellow owners.
Have decided to re-read the CJ Samson Shardlake novels starting with the first, Dissolution, hooked again and far enough in the past to have no memory of who did it!
Tasty tea, prawn stir fry with lots of ginger, yum.11 -
Good afternoon. Lovely sunny day here
D Doll - Good start to the year!
Admiral - think I would have liked WfH but teaching doesn't really lend itself 😂 !
Fascia man finished off today. Took longer than planned because of torrential rain one day and high winds another. Anyway, looks very smart now. We reckon the previous lot lasted about 35 years, so if this lot last that long, the next lot won't be our problem!
DD and partner came for tea yesterday. Sausages and oven veg went down well. Made some gf oatie biscuits for afters, using up some of the gf flour I bought to make DD some Christmas biscuits.
Picked some tiny sprigs of winter flowering jasmine. They're in a bud vase on the dining table and make me smile every time I catch sight of them.
And now got a thumping headache! And I don't get headaches! Had paracetamol, to no effect, so think I'll have to try a ' lie down in a darkened room'.
Happy 🌞day everyone

Will have to cope without Mrs McCarthy.QI on axe murderers triggered me thinking of the Canadian axe courtesy where, if you borrow another chap’s axe, you’re very careful with it; & usually it’s simpler & politer just to ask them to chop something.Son has upended the bark chippings to form a protective mulch around the little fruit trees, before the temperature drops!Trying apple cider vinegar for the health. Fairly sure you are aren’t supposed to then eat a lump of dark chocolate to take the taste away.Lovely colleague shared the excitement of learning to swim at 60. As I remember learning at 5, and the heady thrill of emerging competence, I cheer her on!Health strength love & courage to all as have need with patience & tolerance if anyone has any to spare?!11

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep, but disturbed by the power going on and off about 20 times at 3am during torrential rain. This made my phone (plugged in to charge) buzz each time and the house phone do a loud chirrupy noise. Then the power went off completely until 7am which would have been fine except that set someone's house alarm off...
2) Had a quick tidy round then went to get my eyebrows threaded. And my sideburns. I imagine the poor woman is having a lie down after that.
3) Pot of tea in M and S.
4) I went to floody town to look at the flood defences and to walk up the middle of the main road across the bridge (which is shut).
5) Smaller son wanted to go to PCWorld and Sainsburys so we did that.
6) Made a shepherd's pie for tea which has received praise from smaller son! Also had a Sainsburys trifle.
7) Watched Travel Man.10 -
