PaulieHerts - I was thinking about you on Tuesday and wondering how you had got on. Your post hadn't appeared when I typed mine last night so I was so pleased to read this morning that you had got on ok at the dentist. Of course you cried afterwards, all that pent up dread and then relief!!! I'm so glad it's done x

Evening all - AWOL again 🙄
Pleasures recently
1. ICT bedroom finished, just waiting for the carpet
2. Nice few days there with OH, weather was AWFUL so we watched a lot of films
3. Nice meal with friends
4. After which OH and I drove home, uneventful journey once we got out of icy fog.
5. My bed after the journey above.
6. Last teaching day went well - got some nice feedback from last year's students
7. Did some yoga - nicely achey after
8. Watching Traitors
9. Visit to MiL, and a good lunch at a vegetarian cafe in Milton Keynes. It's a community cafe and many of the staff have Down's Syndrome
10. Lovely walk along the canal with OH and a pub lunch (we'll gloss over the protracted journey back..)
Have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Could not get to sleep until 4am as I felt too ill. Then slept until about 9.30.
2) Did various bits of housework.
3) Went to Waitrose to take back a plate my friend ordered me for Christmas that had broken in transit. Had a cup of tea in the cafe whilst there (rude not to).
4) Went to M and S to collect the traditional Christmas Eve new pyjamas. Had a cup of tea there. The man who works in the cafe (who looks like a handsome pirate) doesn't even ask my order anymore! I said one day I will ask for something which is not a pot of tea and he will know it is the fall of civilisation. He said, "Yes, it'll be the end of days!" Also bought my friend a t shirt for Christmas. I have never bought an article of clothing for another woman before!
5) Did plenty of Arabic on Duolingo. It is funny how you learn, with something being beyond comprehension for ages then suddenly becoming clear.
6) Had a nice email back from the school smaller son attended from years 5-6.
7) Still a bit ill so a quick tea of HM tomato sauce and meatballs from the freezer.
8) In bed and will watch television this evening.
The decorations are still not up here!9 -

1. Wafts of 2 emporium rtc rolled lamb breasts, roasting nicely, are drifting into & bedroom as we speak. Courgettes with h-g garlic flash-banged, ready and waiting. Potato baking. Looking forward to it all immensely. Nods to 'healthy' in there, sortakinda......😁
2. Just heard Leinster annihilating Gloucester at non-round ball 1st half. Sadly, but sensibly, all matches off for our 🦚Peacock🏉 men tomorrow. Awaiting updates for Ladies' Sunday matches. Safety first.
Edit: full-time just blown, Leinster 57- Gloucester 0. Hmmm.
3. Well, that's a quirky juxtaposition to share. Two & faves, Jane Austen and Wassily Kandinsky, both have their birthdays today.😃
4. Long call from someone last night, during which we most enjoyably batted opposing🌹views to and fro. Bound to continue thus😁. No, & doesn't possess the judo black belt or same approach to Latin, but more teaching likely....on &'s terms, not the super-generous ones offered 🙃
5. Warm feet again/still. & begins to feel the umpty times reboiled water must surely 'wear out' soon.😁

feeling quite a bit better today happycas unlike the hapless drivers who crashed their cars coming down my road - one into a wall, one into a fence - hope noone was hurt but goodness the cars look a write-off
1) woke to a Dundee covered in snow
2) after 2nd meeting donned wellies and walked to my hairdressing appointment (about 30 mins walk and of course 30 mins back after)
3) made some fatballs for the birds and we threaded some past their best dates for the birds
4) coffee and a great catch-up with colleague back from 3 weeks in Thailand
5) decided against the pub, candles lit, fire on and watched The Chair having discovered DD2 still has NetflixMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning. Oooft Saturday already! How quickly the weeks go.
For Friday…hurrah, the ice has gone! We had rain and wind and never was I so glad to see rain and wind again. No defrosting of the car ( the car that coughed and spluttered to a start on the third splutter! A bit of a waaah moment but it’s subsequently started ) .Had to go in to town to pick up something. It’s free parking in December. Hurrah!Dropped a bag of stuff off at charity shop but may have came home with a jumper! That was new with tags and had literally just been put out in the rack.Fire on. And fire will be going back on today. Then I had a work event late afternoon/ evening. Came home and fire was out but downstairs had retained heat thanks to quilt on doorframe. I will try and get a heavy curtain to go up that looks a bit more aesthetically pleasing no now I know it definitely works.Chat to friend when I got home from work. And the main happy news is finally DD2 is home. Should’ve been Tuesday but snow, car very broken, rail strikes etc made for an extended break. Was very late when they got in but I’m just so glad they are safely home.Vjsmum I’m rather enjoying The Traitors. Absolutely did not think it was my thing but I love it!Have a lovely day.10 -
For yesterday,
Another cold one, heartily looking forward to big thaw tomorrow night.
Running errands and doing chores, dropped into feed store to see my pals and picked up a horsey treat ball for the beautiful grey one to nudge around her stable.
Long chat with my bf.
Just like Mr Benn, small dog vanished into my friend’s mobile dog grooming van and emerged 40 minutes later all trimmed and smelling sweet.
Tired after a couple of social evenings so easy tea of baked spuds then caught up on Only Connect etc.9 -
1. Enjoyed my dog walk. Cold but blue sunny skies. Snow still looks beautiful.
2. Met a friend for coffee and exchanged gifts. Had a lovely catch up and saw photos of her grandchildren.
3. Saw my parents and delivered presents including my Dad's birthday present for today.
Also took him apricot tart, which he loves, from where I had coffee.
It was good to catch up with them.
4. Most of Christmas shopping done and wrapped.
5. I am also enjoy traitors after DS1 told me about it.7 -
Had to look for this tonight we were off the first page!Just in from work night out. Lovely meal and good company but oooft as I’m up early for work in the morning. And don’t really do late nights easily.Out for brunch with DD2 this morning. So much to chat about.
Met friends in Dunemlm Mill. I absolutely can’t abide this kind of shop but needed a curtain for the front doorway , it looked like a squat with the quilt up! Anyway nice chatter with friends.Home and er where are you doggy? Yoohoo? Poor thing had somehow got shut in DD1 room and the door had closed over enough that he couldn’t get back out. So much cuddling needed.Hoovered upstairs and downstairs and even the car! Was picking someone up tonight so felt I should at least make a bit of an effort.Had too many house plants so popped a post up and rehomed them very quickly! And now I have space where they were. Also dropped off something else I’d been gifted but really didn’t need at the time and it was just taking up space. All dolled up and out and about. Had pate, lasagne and then a very unnecessary dessert of a sundae with brownies in it. Absolutely stuffed. And my sisters in law were just leaving as I was pulling up outside. So they popped back in and had a quick hug and chatter with them. Then they left and I had to jump back in car and park properly. And nice doggy hugs before bed.Alarm clock set! Sigh ( but just a wee half day tomorrow)10
