Hello.Log delivery ( eventually) managed to get it all in the garage rather than all the way round the back to the leaky roofed shed.Walked to supermarket first thing to get cash for logs. The sun rise was stunning. A glow of orange over the woods.Just so blooming freezing. Rather over it all! But got a toasty fire going.Watched Haz and Megz.Put up a quilted throw over the doorway ( no door) at front porch. See if it makes it a bit less frozen!9

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A short lie in, after waking up in the night feeling very ill indeed. Everything seems worse at 4am! Just a sore throat and tiredness now. Bigger son has every possible cold symptom, including actually being sick.
2) Tidied up but still haven't got round to putting up any Christmas decorations.
3) Bigger son's girlfriend came and they made very good chicken burgers from scratch, with burger buns, salad and garlic mayo. And hm potato wedges.
4) Took smaller son to Sainsburys. Much hiding from him as TWO of his former teachers were at the self checkout!
5) In bed now and will watch television.8 -

Recent pleasures:
the dreaded dentist visit was done. Only one tooth removed as wisdom tooth seems to be ok for now, it was the one tightly squeezed against it causing the problem. Over very quickly and nowhere near as traumatic as my previous experiences, which caused my phobia. I still cried when it was done though 😢
Thick snow ❄️ on Monday and OH had to dig the car out and grit the drive and road ready for dentist trip on Tuesday.
Beautiful sky with a faint pink glow from the sun on the drive back, which along with the snow covered trees and fields, looked quite magical.
I haven’t been out since as won’t risk the roads or pavements. OH off work today as there is not much they can do on Country Park in this weather. He only gets a token payment though ☹️
Lots of television watched, I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do all the indoor jobs I could/should be doing.
Keeping warm but the energy monitor is whizzing up!
Night all, sweet dreams 💤8 -
Pleasures for today
1. Checked tyre pressure & topped up windscreen wash
2. Main Roads are clear of snow.
3. Learnt how to poach eggs in a pan of boiling water, they were delicious - why did I wait so long to try this?
4. Leftovers made in Lasagna with wraps instead of pasta sheets and hm cheese sauce.
5. In bed ready for sleep.8 -
Hi everyone.
Had a pretty rotten couple of days, the infection that saw me in A & E recently returned with a vengeance and completely floored me til the meds started kicking in yesterday, now feel grotty from the meds and not the infection. Hey ho!
To some pleasures:
1) Starting to feel more like me again but I've lost most of the week so feel a bit disorientated. Luckily most of our Christmas prep was already done so no need for any panicking.
2) The boys break up tomorrow lunchtime from school and college so it will all feel a lot more relaxing and they can have a good rest. They are tired and have all had cough and cold bugs so a lot of rest and relaxation will be happening.
3) Couldn't help but watch some more of Meghan and Harry/Harry and Meghan on telly today. Have just finished reading The Palace Papers and Courtiers too. 'Recollections may vary' springs to mind!
4) The couple who last viewed my mum's bungalow didn't seem too keen at the time, however apparently they have asked for second viewing on Saturday and asked if it's ok to bring their builder. Sounds quite positive so fingers crossed. Sister will do the visit as not sure I'll be up to it.
5) It's been too cold for all the snow we had at the weekend to thaw and the sun today really made it sparkle. We had a wonderful sunset, the sky was shaded from blue down to apricot and the black skeletons of the trees against that backdrop were stunning. Winter skies are a endless pleasure.
Been asleep a lot of the day so not really tired but will snuggle in my bed with my new book. Missed a few days of writing my diary too, I'm halfway through year 5 of my five year diary and have never missed an entry so will try and untangle the last few days which have been a bit of a blur and get it up to date.

Happycas Pleased you are starting to improve.
1. Gorgeous sunrise on drive to work. The snow made it look better than usual.
2. The vast array of Christmas jumpers seen at wotk. I think all schools were having a Christmas jumper day.
3. Apple crumble for pudding. Apples were kindly given to us by someone at local garden club. All windfalls but masses of them.
A couple of weeks ago we came third in the quiz there.
4. Spoke on phone to both my parents and DS1 whilst I was cooking tea.
5. Sorted out seed packets so I know what to order for next year.
6. Write a list of what I need to do before Shy and pleased that it is more manageable than I thought it would be.8 -
Totally concur on winter skies Highdays glad you are starting to feel a tad better.
For yesterday,
Even colder, -9 in the car when I set out for a food shop, I seem to have permanent bobble hat hair!
The bird seeders are frozen so scattered food all the ground, inter-species squabbles all seem to be suspended as everyone helps themselves.
Over to the yard, far too cold to take girlie’s rug off and ride so she went into the school for a charge about & roll.
More socialising, drove over to see our pal and had a meal in his local, bangers & mash for me, just the job.
I drove home as Capt S had a Guinness or two, patchy fog made it an interesting one but home safe & sound and stayed up a bit for small dog cuddles.

Good morning. Still brrr.
Village Life - think it's Highdays who is feeling better. Or maybe D Doll. But thank you anyway❤
Excellent news about the impending wedding though. It's great to have something good to look forward to.
Highdays, DDoll, Frith - look after yourselves please. Need to have everyone fit and well for Christmas
Paulie - you deserve a Brave Little Soldier badge! Well done!
It's been a week of bitting and bobbing. To say we're out for main meal both Christmas and Boxing day, there still seems to be a lot to sort out! But we're nearly there.
Our yoga teacher's three classes raised over £800 for the local food bank! Amazing. It seems most people must have donated much more than the usual class fee.
Managed to watch the first episode of Three Pines but Prime keeps playing up so I've not managed any more. Alfred Molina is Gamache. It seems more plot driven than the books but hopefully the characters will develop over the series. It's not as good as the books - but probably never could be for me!
Started wrapping presents. Such a back aching job I can do only a few a day, but over halfway now.
Happy chilly day everyone
