Chatters with people when I’ve met them.Dog snuggles.Have a nice day!SS hope you feel a bit brighter soon x7 -
For yesterday,
These quiet autumn days do seem to be mostly the same, quick trip into horsey town for a few supplies.
Some sunshine, very much welcome after days of rain although that did come back in the late afternoon.
We ate main meal at lunchtime as beloved had late meeting, courgette & goats cheese baked gnocchi, very yum.
Did the early evening walk with small dog, rain had cleared & stars were out.
Watched the Brazil game.

Good morning. It's sunny 🌞
Welcome Funky Fairy. Good to see you. And a great name too.
D Doll - I do hope all is well and it's just busyness and football keeping you away.
S Sue - fingers crossed for some answers and solutions. Feeling whammy ( medical term!) all the time is no fun.
Well, another day, another burst pipe! Three in as many weeks! The pleasure is that the water board came out quickly and mended it straight away.( The water turned off followed by muddy brown water was not a pleasure, but it's cleared now)
Finished Wisting series 1 , just before it vanishes from iPlayer. Now got a year to watch Series 2.
Christmas shopping coming together. Bought an 'escape room' game yesterday for Christmas day afternoon at D D's
Finished my current poetry anthology ( on Kindle) so bought a new one. I read one poem each morning so a book lasts ages, but I still have to hunt for a bargain! I honestly think bargain hunting is so ingrained, I'd still do it if we won the lottery!
Going to cut down greenery today ready for wreath making on Sunday. Better do it quick while it's not raining!
Happy Friday everyone6 -
Hi everyone.
SSue - sorry you are still feeling so unwell, hopefully the blood test results will help the doctor to sort a plan of action quickly.
My small pleasures:
1) Shopping trip yesterday to the big shopping centre, very busy and very LOUD. Still, managed to get quite a bit off the list and a lovely candle for me - basil and neroli, yum - just because I am worth it!
2) Treated ourselves to lunch to break up the shopping into more manageable chunks. Nice to have some 1:1 time with hubby.
3) My new book, couldn't get into it first time round but persevered this time and now enjoying it.
4) The torrential rain highlighted a problem with the roof on my mum's bungalow. Luckily DH tracked down a local to the area builder who had done some work for them previously. He isn't taking on any new work but very kindly came and sorted for us, not totally sure what he's done, something to do with flashing, felt, tiles, but the photos of the finished job look smashing, he has done a very thorough job. Good job we got it done before any surveys, etc. Another viewing tomorrow but sister is going to do that one, saves us another trip as hubby was there with my brother today.
5) Lovely, peaceful home alone day today. Bit of a rarity but nice to have a lazy day wrapping pressies, updating lists, pottering with a bit of tidying and sorting and then a very big read of my book with no interruptions! Just roused myself to start preparing tea for when himself gets home.
Friday has come around very quickly this week, hope everyone has a good weekend.5 -
Another day most quiet.
Walked a friends dog to help her out.Dropped off two things to two different friends. Doorstep deliveries.
A cold wind but wild enough to hang washing out for a few hours.Slogging through The Crown.Dog cuddles.6 -
Recent pleasures:
Referral to physio for my legs and back that don’t want me to walk! after a quick phone chat with GP, could be a long wait though ☹️
Finally got my eyebrows waxed and tinted and a haircut on Thursday.
we are now in Yorkshire for a week, staying in a lovely cottage on a golf club. Stopped at Belvoir Castle, near Grantham half way up here, to visit their Christmas 🎄 Cinderella display, it was beautiful.
Home cooked boeuf bourginon for dinner which I brought with us.
Plans include York Christmas market and minster etc on Monday and Castle Howard at Christmas on Tuesday. Should be a great week, just hope my legs and back hold up.
Have a great weekend everyone 😊6 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son made a cooked breakfast with every possible component.
3) My brother came round to watch the Wales v Iran match with us. Sad times.
4) I went in to town to get the clothes from the football team and was met by an incredibly rude man who denied all knowledge, then made an incredibly rude phone call about it in front of me. After that, I had a cup of tea in M and S, where no one was rude.
5) Saw a house I liked online so drove there and sat outside. It is too expensive for me, really. I booked an appointment to look round next Tuesday.
6) Went to see my sister for a cup of tea.
7) Got home and someone has made an offer on my house! £15,000 less than the asking price (which isn't very high). Not sure how to proceed.
8) Watched the England v USA game and needn't have bothered.
9) In bed with 2 hwb and will watch TV for a while.5 -
For yesterday, a day of football and horses!
Changed the bed and got stuff done before the Wales match, oh dear.
We had sunshine and lots of it, really lifts the spirits.
Over to see pony, washed down her legs although they will just get dirty again when she goes out this morning but like to check that there is nothing nasty lurking under the mud, cuts etc.
Home, easy tea of pizza and winter slaw.
More football, oh dear again, at least Gogglebox afterwards was reasonably entertaining!
Eta hope you have a lovely break PH5 -
Well, to everyone ⚽️, commiserations. Hopefully, & in 🦚+Raffle Harridan mode today won't be needing own medicine by end of match v Medway. First time we've ever played them, so.....
On verra.

1. What a beautiful sunny day was yesterday, all day long!
2. Tight timings and P&R all worked obligingly before final 'birds with broken wings' biz at end of day scuppered &'s FNL presence. Someone else will have done the scoreboard,🤞. Managed wonderful lost time here. Will be returning -

Bought some decorations from the tree and had such good chat with some potters. & loves this annual exhibition. Recommend!
3. Em reply from local internationally renowned Potter who made Communion cup for us. We'll sort mutually convenient time for & to choose a small personal Merci for our wonderful S, retiring January.
4. Heard this brilliant play earlier, R4X. Absolute parallel for now, with bonus of Roger Allam(Cabin Pressure😇, vjm):

5. During 2, while standing right by Christmas tree in All Saints and choosing from the studio pottery baubles - all money going to Jimmy's Night Shelter, not far away - took call saying I'd won an earlier Christmas raffle, church fundraiser elsewhere for Emmäus! A perfect circularity there, ditto timing and significance.💝🙏🤶👣

Frith, what disgusting behaviour from those 2 at the club. I should think your initial contact will be horrified. Wearing another & hat, this would be a handsome publicity piece for your team, with high local news feelgood factor 🌟!
Thankyou Sue🤞- nothing in bank yet. Deceptively worded letter, will keep checking. In the meantime, CWP is confirmed as en route to Ovo, who are in a constant mess of extremes. Threats on one hand, over £424 credit on the other!
Was also sent Age UK online forms for 'local grants. Do apply or the funding is clawed back by the government'. Did so, but have missed both their rtn calls over past fortnight - driving. No particular hopes there.

Right must dash, especially as just hearing our Hospitality Manager is extremely vomit-y ill on this big fully-booked lunches home match day......😱
Extra hands on deck asap.
