Pleasures for today
1. Doggie woke at 9.30 - a lie in.
2 lovely walk with doggie in the sunshine, met another dog that wanted to run round in circles too.
3. Cleaned house,looks much better
4. Train to Birmingham was on time.
5. On an event at the office in Birmingham-work paying for a serviced apartment, it’s really nice with a proper kitchen.6 -
Good morning. Very grey here.
Recent pleasures
Yoga. Always a good thing.
Proper winter food to cheer up dull wet days.
Tea with DGC at Pizza Hut. We don't see them as often as we used to as they are always busy doing something. But I'm pleased they are now allowed to do things after so long of being restricted by covid rules. And we're flexible enough to fit in the spaces. ( cos we're retired, not cos of yoga 😂)
A lovely programme about Covent Garden. Most enjoyable.
Mince pies.
Happy grey day everyone

For yesterday,
Woke up feeling distinctly like a cold was brewing, drove into the village for lemons and saw the children from the school doing their cycling proficiency tests.
Chat with Volunteer Network coordinator, she’s such a cherry person.
Lunch was minestrone soup with cheese toasties.
Feeling bit rough so snuggled on sofa with my book and small dog, lamps on at 3.45 it was so dark & gloomy.
Capt S did us a bit of tea but my appetite has dropped so must be ill 🤨6 -
Mine for today are -
Building Lego with my son.
Providing my family with a HM hot meal cooked without using the oven.
Having a text chat with my friend who moved many miles away and catching up.
A cheeky afternoon nap snugged up on the sofa with the Christmas tree twinkling beside me.
Doing some baking in a cosy kitchen while it’s dark and raining outside.6 -
1 I lost a post I thought I had posted up yesterday - hey ho. The jist was, I am making my way through leftover birthday chocolate cake if there is such a thing, had a lovely birthday, we went out to pizza hut to celebrate it succeeded in making me feel very old by having to photo the bar code and order on the phone, does away with any point of tipping in my humble opinion.
2 The birds are back, long taileds, wag tails, woody all down today.
3 I’ve just come back from a half-wasted journey, not wasted as I got a load to a CS shop, then I popped to the post office to change stamps where they don’t accept them and don’t dole them out anymore, they also wouldn’t pay my bagged-up change in like they used to, I’m only talking 3 bags here not a santa sack full. So, I was left disgruntled, as now I literally have no need for the post office at all, but not an entirely wasted journey.
4 I was sorely tempted to order in, but we are clinging on to pennies, trying not to end up too tight on budget so ended up popping everything in a casserole pot and into cook, although I do now wonder how much it costs to cook through..

Pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Watched the football on and off.
3) A second lady came to view our house so we sat in the car up the road!
4) Went to Telford to watch our football team (eventually) win 2-1.
There were probably other pleasures but I find it impossible to remember the next day.
Today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to my old job (school) to invigilate one maths exam. Was finished and in the car by 11am.
3) Went to Waitrose and had a little sit down in the cafe.
4) Our football team players have collected some clothes for the asylum seekers so I just need to drive there and pick the bags up.
5) Found a job advertised in the village shop, making and installing tree guards in the forest. Bigger son phoned about it and is to see the man in the morning for a chat.
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.
Photo to follow. We seem to have photobombed the entire football highlights video. I would like to point out I am actually 5 feet 7. I just look like I'm sitting down because I'm standing next to smaller son!

Belated birthday wishes PK 🎉
For yesterday,
Still feeling rough so mostly just a quiet day at home, dug out the echinacea and started taking that too.
Found an old film to download and snuggled with small dog on the sofa, pleasure of a HWB too.
A helicopter hovering low across the field, apparently it’s from the National Grid who check out the power lines, who knew!
Did get over to see lovely pony, not much done work wise but did give her a groom and got lots of kisses in return.
Tea was meatballs & spaghetti, watched a bit of footie afterwards but early night.

Rain was so thunderous on way back earlier that & was below 30mph, even on open road.
Currently waiting for DoR's 1st XV and Nomads teamsheets after tonight's training for Saturday's fixtures - a fair bit more Preview writing to sort out yet, too.
1. Right now - in bed and snug, feet on hwb and Melvyn Bragg on R4X. That's a lovely, simple, happy osp cluster for &.🙂
2. Five trad. Figgy puddings boiled to blazes yesterday and last 3 doing same now. They need around 3½ hours each and several will be chrimbo presents. All figs and walnuts home-grown, loads of both. Latter didn't shell themselves😖, which felt like a penance of sorts. You're used to &'s camera ineptitude by now.
3. Still the Majestic Tomato hangs on. Took another pic this morning.
4. Notice of £150 Cold Weather payment received, twice reduced by current colour of government, but will help nonetheless.
5. Odd supper of grilled steak, beetroot salad, roast onions and fresh baby plum tomatoes, all extremely rtc emporium fodder.
#
Just turned off those last puddings.
....then add a superb new2& loden, exceptional CS find. Love it.

Happy belated birthday, pk.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Another morning of invigilation.
3) Went to Waitrose afterwards.
4) Bigger son went to talk to the man about a possible job - and starts next Tuesday! They work in the forest making various objects and at the moment they have a huge order to make then install tree guards. They have worked for the National Trust in the past but I don't know who has placed this particular order. There is the chance for him to work more hours as well. He is chuffed about that.
5) One of bigger son's friend said he had spotted some chicken of the woods (a sort of fungi) so we popped to the next village to get a bit off the tree. It wasn't good enough to cook, sadly,
6) My brother said he will come for breakfast tomorrow for the Wales v Iran match so I got various supplies in ready.
7) We watched the Brazil v Croatia game then I'm a Celebrity.6
