Hello again.
Frith - I'm sure you never stopped to think before you jumped out of your car to help that lady but what you did was a rare and very kind thing. I have been that person in the road and it was quite shocking, lying there, how everybody turned a blind eye. I fell whilst out walking with my son and finished up flat on my face half on the road and half on the kerb. The traffic was at a complete standstill in a queue and nobody was going anywhere. I couldn't get up, I was completely winded, my knee was agonising and I was scared to try to put any weight on it. My son on his own couldn't get me up so went off to try to get a signal to phone hubby to come and help. Not one person got out of their car to help him to get me up and bikes came along, saw that I was blocking their way down the inside of the standing traffic, and went between the standing cars to get by. Not even a single passer by stopped to help, even when I was laid there on my own. I finished up sitting in the gutter - literally - til hubby arrived. So I know just how grateful that poor lady will have been. Seems there are two types of people in this world...well done you!
Some pleasures:
1) There are some lovely, caring people here.
2) My meds finish tomorrow, thank goodness as they have made me feel very not good (Grammar! Sorry!).
3) Hubby's am-dram play is going well at the local theatre. He does set-building, lights and sound effects for a local rep company in his spare time and their production is on this week so he is there every night and having a whale of a time. All being well I will be going tomorrow night to see for myself what has kept him so busy for the last few months.
4) Littlest grandson came in to watch some Lego competition on the telly that he just knew I would be desperate to watch as well (!) so we snuggled up and marvelled at the creations together.
5) Not felt up to much this week so spent some time drawing up lists and making plans. Feeling quite organised now, mentally at least.
Enjoy the rest of the evening.

Pleasures for today
1. day 1 of work done, 1 more day shift then 3 nights to go.
2. Took all meals into work, non spend day.
3. Fantastic neighbours who walked my dog this afternoon and gave her a bath and dried her.4. Doggie cuddles when in from work.
5. Now in bed ready for sleep.8 -
1 We dropped off DH’s car for repair, and so pleased at the unexpected, the other driver has admitted their part in rear ending, which means they have covered the excess as well, phew, its tight this month. We picked up what is politely known as a courtesy car, more over a death trap.
2 I made a salad for lunch, and dinner is a spaghetti carbonara, it used to be my all-time favourite meal but it just seemed to disappear of my making list over the last couple of years.
3 More tidying progress, I used up old ferret bedding and thew it out saving re using clutter and cleaning. Office progress, I filed the “to be filed” paper. Cleared a drawer in the filing cabinet and put a load of empty files in it. Popped the fax machine in the back of the car to remember to take it to the tip. Wondered if I should sell it as “vintage/retro”, saying that also in the tip run are “cassette holders”!!
4 We loaded the car up and got everything we needed into it with clever packing, and dropped it all off at the tip, just as the heavens opened, ah well we needed a rinse.

Morning. I went to bed early last night as had a bit of a headache. Gone now thankfully.
Wednesday. Was bright and sunny. But cold. But just nice to see blue sky.
Went out to buy curtains for living room. Which I got however the traffic was at a standstill ( backlog of traffic from a fatal car crash on one of the main roads. So it was a case of one shop and one shop only.It was like sensory overload with all the Christmas stuff in this shop…excuse me? Do you still sell curtains? As I couldn’t find them. Yes they’re upstairs just now. Now I love Christmas and I love Christmas decorations but this was way too much stuff! I think my tolerance for stuff has declined since I dealt with mums house. Anyway curtains chosen, paid for and out of there! Traffic still backed up but I was heading the opposite way.Into Home Barga!ns to get washing powder and it was Christmassy but nicely so and not overwhelming! Walked over to charity shop. And had a mooch but just got 3 books for a pound.Home. Hello doggy. Keeked in at a poorly DD2 but she was sleeping ( until I started hoovering later!)
Hung up curtains. Had also bought new front door mats so old ones replaced at back doors. The previous mats had been seriously vomited in when dog was seriously ill in the summer. And had been chucked. So older mats moved to back doors and new mats looking nice at front door. New curtains/ newer mats at door…do not vomit on these said to the dog…
Walked up to colleague/friend to drop off the couple of books I’ve read past few days. And she can pass them on. Had a nice chat for half an hour or so and then walked home.
Started reading one of the new to me books.Head starting to get a bit achy, so went to bed and then woken at 9.30pm by DD2 shouting the dogs been sick! I don’t know what to do! I may have a tad ungracious! Anyway it was not on the mat nor the curtains! Between her and the boyfriend they managed to clean it up ( and it wasn’t much!…I’ve seen much worse😆) and the dog has slept soundly ever since8 -
Good for you Frith, my DM was on warfarin and it’s scary when the blood won’t stop.
For yesterday,
Few chores and then off to cathedral city to pick up a parcel from post depot and a visit to Sainsbobs for a few bits that I can’t get at the emporium.
Lunch and then over to see pony, she’s had a deep rooted fear of being hosed down since I’ve had her and tbh being on sand at previous yard meant there wasn’t much mud to deal with but now we are on clay it’s a very different story so I’m working on getting her used to it. She was the same with anything long & straight and it still hurts my heart to think what what happened to her when she was young 🥺 Anyways, she is so loved & cherished now.
Tea was chilli from the freezer, I might have added more chilli flakes so was a tad hot and sinuses were cleared!
The wind had changed direction so when I opened the door for small dogs last visit to garden the grass was covered in beech leaves.
Reading in bed, all cosy with the wind howling around the cottage.

Hello. A day of this and that. Damp and cold to start and damp and cold to finish but managed to get dry bits in between.Up early. I’m having the most extraordinary strange dreams. I’ve always been a very vivid dreamer but these are just plain weird! I often wake up quite discombobulated!Went in to town. Parked at supermarket in town. Was going in specifically to buy something that they had a couple of weeks ago but no longer had. Clothing for great nephew’s Christmas gift. However I was able to source it cheaper online with a 10% first order code and it was also in the sale. Got something for friends baby grandson, something for other great nephew and something for Great niece. I’m nearly as done as I’m doing!Walked down in to town centre ( downhill which of course means walking back steep hill on way back) went to bank to pay in a cheque for my son from HMRC. Very helpful chap helped me with that. And paid in my tips too.Round to favourite florists for some eucalyptus, last lot lasted me 5 weeks. Nice chat with two of the girls who work there.Back up the hill. And home.Sat and read for a bit. Then went to hairdressers with DD2 to make appointments and grab shampoo then we went to supermarket for me to return pillows I’d bought yesterday…opened them up to discover one was only partially filled! Hmmm. Got some RTC flowers so I’ve just spent last half hour sorting my vases. I love having flowers in my home. Always have.Read some more. Tidied kitchen. And just going to read some more…I need to read when I’m in a reading mood!8

For yesterday,
Rain, lots of rain, doesn’t seem to have stopped this autumn. Into horsey town for a food shop, used a voucher to buy some chocs & biscuits for the festive season, will be hidden away.
Long chat with my bf.
Made a loaf, new flour to me, malted with sunflower seeds, smelt good.
Over to see pony, she had been out all day and was hungrily eating her hay so just changed her into a warm fleece & sat in her stable with her.
Tea was baked cannelloni, then watched Only Connect followed by Between the Covers with my favourite Siegfried, Sam West.6
