For yesterday,
A good nights sleep.
Coffee & croissants then spent the morning in the garden, cut some grasses down a bit but left everything else as cover for insects etc. Planted over 100 spring bulbs, bit tedious and my knees hurt by the end but will 🤞be worth it next spring. It was a mild, sunny day and small dog sat next to me on the garden seat for a while. A red kite flew overhead which was rare as we usually only see buzzards.
To the yard in the afternoon, walk around with my girlie then settled her down with a hay net while I cleaned tack. By the time I left it was dark and the fog had come down which made for a spooky drive home through the country lanes.
Tea, Strictly then a few games of Yahtzee.8 -

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Pretty much all the housework is done.
3) Bigger son sent me photographs of the extensive welding he has done underneath his van.
4) I picked up brochures/catalogues from B and Q and Next and made resources ready for the English lesson tomorrow. (We will be doing the names of rooms of the house and the furniture within).
5) Met my sister in town and had a cup of tea in Costa.
6) Finally bought some printer cartridges (I've been going to the library to do printing for years) to help with 4) above.
7) A tasty tea and used up some pears by just frying in butter and brown sugar for pudding.
8) In bed with 1 hwb and looking forward to I'm a Celebrity.10 -
1 We did the remembrance parade
2 Admiring the moon.
3 Proper hand and knees playing with the animals, and they wouldn’t leave me alone for hours, I ran out of steam quicker than they did.
4 Food planning for the week and trying to escape the go to’s, tonight was a home-made curry and turmeric rice, with enough leftovers to mangle up a lunch and rice to go with tomorrows main. Actively trying to snack less
5 We took another car boot of 2 bin bags of books, and 3 bin bags of clothes to the sally army bin, and I think just for now I have reached saturation point of giving things away, we have a load for CS’s and a tip run next week, we’ve done well but I need a break from it after next week.
6 Our “old gal” has made nothing short of a miraculous recovery at the moment, not out of the woods yet but cautiously happy.

For yesterday,
Up early and settled in front of the tv ready for start of the cricket, 4 hours later and still in our PJ’s but England not only OD world champs but now T20 too, Woohoo!
Fog took ages to clear, cosy in the kitchen as I put together a roast chicken dinner which we ate listening to the Archers omnibus.
Nice afternoon so we did a walk around the fields, they were harvesting the sugar beet and we stood for a while watching the huge bit of machinery. Lots of seagulls following and we noticed the kestrels sitting on wire waiting for their opportunity too.
Home for a cuppa and some reading.
Watched the Strictly results followed by the Larkins, wine, cheese & biscuits with. Still in two minds about the Larkins as it’s such a sanitised version of the Pop Larkin Chronicles but nice in a frothy kind of way.

Recent pleasures:
Managed 2 swims and 1 exercise class last week. Swimming now up to 38 lengths which is good as walking is difficult 😊
OH’s dad’s interment was postponed as his mum is in hospital, so we visited the other crematorium to remember my my mum, dad and brother 🌹. It was a lovely sunny morning so we had a stroll around the small lake there. We had the planned for lunch afterwards, but just the 2 of us.
Yesterday we went to local lovely park to remember the fallen as they have a statue of a WW1 soldier and a tank there. A small gathering of about 15 of us observed the 2 minutes silence. We had a bacon roll and cappuccino there.
Managed to rescue the second half of the chicken stew from Friday that had caught on the pan. Browned some more onion and garlic, added it to stew with half a tin of tomatoes, herbs, stock cube and half a teaspoon of sugar. More or less worked to take away the burnt taste, couldn’t waste it as there were 4 chicken breasts in there!
Have a good Monday everyone 😊8 -
Working week done! Hurrah! In a bit earlier as had extra stuff to do. Very busy. Good company. Laughter and chatter. And a toasted leftover scone for my tea!Tips in the jar.
Hello doggy. He had his big sister for company today so didn’t need a mid morning visit from me.7 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went out for breakfast with bigger son then we printed out some photos in Boots (don't think I have printed any off in years!) Had a look at the decorations in TKMaxx.
3) I asked the local football team (via email) for some donations - a job I had been putting off for ages.
4) The estate agent rang and the lady who looked round my house on Friday liked it and is just finding out whether she can have a mortgage! No one else has booked in to view yet.
5) Went to the English teaching session and was glad I had done a lot of planning. I had to explain why I support Wales in the World Cup and got a bit carried away, saying it was the best national anthem with the best singers in the world!
6) Went to M and S for a cup of tea afterwards.
7) Tasty bit of tea.
8) Waiting for I'm a Celebrity now.9
