Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in.
2) Got all washing dried and put away.
3) Made chicken tikka for sandwiches for lunch.
4) Had a Chinese takeaway for tea.
5) Watched television this evening.9 -
&'s usual Notspottery, Connectivity Bleughh, and Things Disappeared, have applied to & in person this week.
1. Big all-day Careers Fair involvement Wednesday, but woke knowing & santé way out of kilter. Dkw. Ah well...passed pharmacy en route, £20 on dolly mixture of meds. Doped self to eyeballs for 15 hours and managed.
2. 12 covered trays of surplus refreshments left at Jimmy's Night Shelter by midnight. All were beautifully made, many dainty, distinctively decorated - maybe to your high standards, Mhags. Relayed back the excited and appreciative comments - 'Are these for us? All of these? Even the fancy ones? Really?' Young night warden came out to double-check and be sure. Passed compliments and thanks back to those responsible, equally thrilled.
3. Yesterday and today in bed - whatever it is, it is. & felled. Never happens, but has. All will be well and all will be well and Mother Julian the rest of the way.
4. Have cancelled several things. Can't be out and about like this. Annoyed that one is a brilliantly reviewed staging of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, looked forward to for months. Don't see self at rugby either. Even bed to kitchen+rtn was too far yesterday.
5. A no finesse o/n allsorts casserole put together earlier. Propped self at kitchen bench and managed. 'Back in bed' is sole & aim. This week's Preview vaguely subbed, desultory at best. Notspot failures and slowness, but no driving out for signal this week.

Lainey, was quickly gripped by this:

Thought I was hearing a Town of Horse !!!!!! Francis at first, but no. Dave Sheasby's observation+writing around an unlikely couple's introduction and immersion into racing and ownership is great stuff. Stands the test of time. Looking forward to other episodes.

Oh Ampersand. Please look after yourself. Rest and more rest. Sleep yourself better ( another of dad's sayings) . ( Ironically I started this post an hour ago and then lost all internet connection! Never happened here before😂)
DfV - Thank you.

Back at the caravan. Had two unbelievably warm days. Sat by the harbour yesterday and was too hot! In Bridlington! In October!
Went to the RSPB place. Not so many birds about now of course ( and apparently they've been badly hit by avian flu) but it's a beautiful wild p!ace with majestic cliffs and it was extra beautiful because we were almost the only ones there. Now that Albert Ross the albatross and all his groupies have gone!
Fish n chips for tea. Compulsory at the seasude, you know. Definitely not a cheap meal, but worth it for a treat.
Was woken early by rain hammering on the caravan roof. Always sounds a lot worse in a caravan, but makes you feel very cosy and snug in the dry and warm.
It's stopped now but we won't be going far today.
Happy Saturday everyone

Sending lots of get well wishes Ampersand thanks for the recommendation, will take a listen.
For yesterday,
Rough, rough night so yes please to big pot of coffee!
Change of bed and then over to see pony, surprised the hare in her field again, one of my favourite creatures, long legged beauties.
Home, lunch and then a snooze on sofa.
Capt S finished early so off to farm shop to visit butchers counter and he treated me to tea & cake, my marble cake was yum, his Biscoffi cheesecake was huge!
Neither of us could face a cooked tea after the above so cheese & biscuits with a glass of wine it was, watched ACGAS and then played Yahtzee.11 -
Good morning.
The pleasure for me today - and it's a big one - is that the week is over. I know you shouldn't wish your life away but nevertheless I am very glad to see the back of this week.
I haven't caught up yet on all your news, but thank you for all the kind thoughts that were a massive, massive help in getting me through Wednesday. It came and it went, a long and emotional day but it's done.
Now to look forwards. In the fullness of time (as my dad would say) plans will be made and sorting and organising will be done but, for a little while, a quiet space to reflect and recover from the last year seems to be needed. We have nothing that needs to be done urgently so pleasure will be found in pottering and resting, hopefully no panics or dramas for a while, just lots of 'Monday Tea'.
Will catch up soon, hope everyone is ok. Have a good weekend.12 -

Ampersand, get well soon wishes x
1 I got in contact with a subscription company who were really helpful, they gave me a full refund as I had a 12-month free subscription so can’t fault it.
2 Homemade spaghetti bol using lentil pasta was lovely.
3 More clothes sorted, and a cupboard freed up. I also started packing away the summer things, those boxes always look so bright and colourful.
4 Meal planning achieved from the freezer.
For today
1 Did some deep cleaning, and tidying, fresh bedding for us on, but was distracted by lunch.
2 Then I was distracted as Rhubarb and Custard waking up and started playing about.
3 Trying to create a bit of a capsule wardrobe and failing, but I have been ruthless, and it feels great to have cleared some space. Feeling quite proud of myself for moving things on. I have kept 2 dresses to sell rather than donate.
4 Dinner from the freezer tonight.
5 We had a Mr T delivery, very much a luxury now, to stock up on fresh items and for 2 parts of the Christmas cake, the ingredients are now soaking in cognac making the place smell lovely.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Tidied up a bit.
3) Went to the football (4th qualifying round for the FA Cup). Finally equalised then got one ahead. This led to jumping up and down. Then the other team equalised (a magnificent goal, to be fair). So a rematch on Tuesday. I'm not sure we can afford a trip to the Lancashire coast but it'll be on the radio.
4) A KFC for smaller son.
5) Have been watching television in bed then bigger son's video from Germany...https://youtu.be/-WBfkhlSIKw
