Have a good trip DD
Pleasures for Friday
1. dog walkies and coffee and catch up with friend.
2. dusted downstairs.
3. went to cinema with kids - we went to see 'Don't Worry Darling'. the pleasure was when it finished, truly one of the worst films i've ever seen.
4. curry with kids after.
5. with some left for the freezer.
and saturday
1. drove down to sussex to do some oxfam stewarding for 'Trailwalker' sponsored walk. had a really good drive singing along to the radio
2. volunteering was fine, chatted to some lovely people
3. Excellent food provided - a fellow volunteer offered her lentils / quinoa / roasted veg concoction as an alternative to the pasta on offer and later on a curry arrived
4. Making the decision to stay rather than drive back again. Felt it wouldn't be safe. it was the right thing to do and luckily i'd packed the car in preparation.
5. GOt some sleep despite how bliddy freezing it was.
yesterday
1. up at 7 (feet were still like blocks of ice) and away at 7.50.
2. a service station very welcome coffee
3. deciding to pop into sister in law's for an hour as i was passing. Was lovely to see her.
4. watched a film with DS - The King's Speech
5. nice tea of a veggie bake with roasted broccoli and tomatoes.
Back into work mode today - have a good one all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Lost 1 lb last week.
3) First of six English lessons for the asylum seekers. Felt sick with nerves before I started but it went fine. One of the other ladies (a high school teacher for decades) suddenly told me she had felt nervous as well.
4) Had a pot of tea in M and S afterwards.
5) Took smaller son out for a kebab!
6) Finished watching series 4 of Ghosts.10 -
Glad it went well Frith.
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a food shop and had a quick coffee with my friend.
Cashed out on my prolific account and tucked away in savings.
With my horse, she is shedding her summer coat like mad now that the cooler weather is here.
Tasty tea, mackerel pie with broccoli.
Cold so grateful for long PJ’s and bed socks plus a HWB on brushed cotton sheets.10 -
Hello! Home in Melbourne after a wonderful few days in my very special place.Checked out of hotel but left our bags there till later.Went for breakfast this morning.Wandered about town.Went to the Maritime Museum.Went for lunch and overlooked the sea. Sat for a while. Then back up to hotel , grabbed bags, caught airport bus, flight back here and airport bus back to city here. It’s been great to be away but it’s also nice to be back to a bit more space than we had. Think tiny! Which was fine for what we needed it for , a place to sleep.9

Why hello there from Riyadh.
1) economy very cramped but very welcome announcement over tannoy that we were under capacity so once seat belt signs off we could spread out subject to us returning for landing. i got a 4 seat aisle to myself!!!
2) watched Belfast which i had missed at the cinema - very good - then started Matrix resurrections while eating dinner
3) then slept out flatand woke just as cups of tea coming round
4) finished the matrix resurrections just before we i had to move back.
5) no problems through border control and to hotel albeit after midnight
for today
1) very comfortable bed, sad when the alarm went off, quick shower and down for breakfast
2) then off to the College (medicine, nursing and dental schools) - i was first up with curriculum alignment and the whole morning went very quickly - a good sign i think
3) after lunch a tour of the facilities and a meeting with the dean then back to the hotel for a bit of work and a quick nap
4) out for a wonderful meal sitting on the floor in a room made to look very traditional
5) and now i have caught up on the archers and writing my talk for Thursday.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got lots of necessary housework done, including removing all the kitchen drawers from their unit (?) and scrubbing them out, all cupboard front and edges, sides of the cooker, under the cooker etc.
3) Had to turn the heating on (first time) to try and dry the washing. Very slow to heat the downstairs radiators but at least it all swung into action ok!
4) Did the charity shops and was absolutely astonished to find one of the books I was looking for. I was looking for dictionaries for the asylum seekers and there was one - English to Farsi!
5) Had a pot of tea in Waitrose.
6) Had some messages from bigger son and a new video has been released. Link below.
7) Sitting in bed now listening to the Harriers away match. The wonderfully named Nathaniel Knight-Percival was hurt in the first minute and has gone off, but will be OK.https://youtu.be/Ximga42vCuc

For yesterday,
Must be something in the air as I too cracked on with house chores, bit of an autumn deep clean with lots of washing down and hoovering of tricky bits, as always the pleasure is when it’s done.
Made a loaf and popped the last of the pie in to heat up for lunch.
Visit to my elderly friend, took her a bunch of Mums as it was her birthday last week plus a bag of our apples, included some big’uns as she had said how much she liked them baked. Met her eldest daughter and we admired pictures of each other’s dogs ☺️Quick visit to pony.
Lentil and mushroom bake for tea, then fresh bread & honey for supper as it was bread week on GBBO!9 -
Recent pleasures:
Have not posted for a while and got a bit behind on reading here, but big pleasure catching up and enjoying reading of the travels and especially the videos!
Cooking using own produce: big batch of rich tomato 🍅 sauce, stewed apples 🍏 for sponge pudding adding some bought plums which weren’t good for eating raw, loads of runner beans picked, some eaten some frozen. Cooked a delicious chicken casserole for last night and tonight. Cooked a large boeuf bourginon to take away.
Covid jab last week, ok just tender arm and a bit tired. Eyebrows waxed and tinted, look scary at first but settle down after a couple of days 🤣
Preparing and packing for going to Cornwall tomorrow, first night in Newquay and then down to our beloved Cadgwith Cove for a week staying in a dinky thatched cottage overlooking the sea!
Have a good Wednesday everyone 😊9
