Pleasures for last few days
1. Not a pleasure initially as tested positive for Covid- pleasure now day 5 and feeling slightly better. Was meant to be running the London Marathon on Sunday but had to withdraw as know I’m not fit to do it.
2. Dog cuddles
3. Good friends checking on me.
4. Being able to Nap when needed.
5. Had Curry for tea, used a jar of sauce - helped with the head cold.
6. On annual leave so didn’t have to go sick.

Glad that you are starting to feel a little better Topsyturphy
For yesterday,
Hearing one of my favourite northern soul tunes on the radio as I drove into town, happy memories of dancing through the night in me yoof!
Continued with the autumn clean, this time downstairs, with the amount of cobwebs in the hearth I don’t need to decorate for Halloween 🙄
Met my brother for lunch, good two hour catch up.
Dropped into the farm shop on the way home and picked up a few bits from the butchers counter.
Easy tea, baked spuds with cheese & beans, bit of reading then watched Ambulance.

Good afternoon. Except it's not so good now. Raining heavily.
Welcome Mrs Farmer. Good to see you. Here is a good place to be.
I seem to have lots of admin things to do this week! Have sorted travel insurance, looked at higher value items on house insurance, ordered my repeat prescription and sorted out a mix up about a knitting pattern I ordered online. It downloaded in Chinese the first time I tried!
Been sleeping really well since we got back from the cruise. Very unusual for me and I wish I knew how to keep it going. Perhaps I need a cruise once a month! Should be on the NHS!
Keeping going with housework, spring cleaning style, whilst I've got the energy.
Began a new Elly Griffiths book but with a different detective. Harbinder Kaur? I'm afraid I just didn't get on with it and so gave up less than halfway through. Not like me to do that!
Sausages and bubble and squeak for tea. Nice and easy, and suitable for the wintry weather. Followed by jam roly poly and custard. Definite winter fare
Happy wet day everyone11 -

Welcome Mrs Farmer.
For yesterday,
Woke up to thick fog, makes the world quieter as it deadens the noise from the bypass.
Changed the bed and generally pottered around the house, did a paperwork tidy up and filed what needed to keep. Made an appointment that I’ve been putting off for a while.
Over to see my pony, she was already in as yard staff were racing to get others in ahead of the heavy rain forecasted. Did her feet, hung up hay net and mixed up evening feed then groomed as she ate her hay. The rain started and very cosy it was too, smell of fresh shavings and horse.
Home and decided on fish & chips for tea, thought that the heavy rain would put folk off but the village takeaway was rammed. Problem with their fryer as well so wait was 45 mins in the end but very tasty all the same, small dog had a few chips too.
Watched a bit of tv, then reading in bed, lost in 17th century Cambridge.

Good morning, everyone, and Happy October.Welcome on board, Mrs Farmer, I'm a newbie too and this is a great place to hang out.Recent pleasures:1) Feeling much better after some serious downtime. Think I had been running on empty for a while but did a lot of resting and sleeping and not much else for a few days and feel so much better.2) Felt well enough to get back into our regular walks again, the non-pleasure being I must have been more wobbly on my pins than I thought and took a real tumble. Now sporting a very swollen knee and some technicolour bruises but no broken bones or teeth, thank goodness.3) The sore leg was a good excuse to sit with my leg up and read without feeling guilty. Enjoying the new Maggie O'Farrell very much, love her style of writing and Hamnet was one of my most favourite reads ever.4) Definitely in autumn mode now, summer clothes away, autumn food and candles are back. We are very, very lucky and don't pay any fuel bills but doing our bit to economise where we can, so cosy throws are out on chairs and beds and the thermostats are turned down a notch.5) A night out last night at a new-to-us 'local' with live entertainment. Can't remember the last time I spent a Friday night in a pub but it was a great atmosphere, lovely food and surprisingly good group. Everyone was up on their feet dancing by the end of the night, love a bit of 'knocking on wood' and so on but have to say that this morning my knee is throbbing. I'm old enough to know better but, hey, letting your hair down once in a while is surely a good thing to do?!So, a hobble round the garden centre today to sort some autumn tubs and then leg up and a good read this afternoon. Bliss!Have a good weekend.8
