1) can report that the Emma mattress is very comfy
2) loads of cleaning at mum's and we managed 3 trips to the dump (sorted into the various skips) and have lots to drop off at the charity shop
3) ys jamie oliver pizza and salad for lunch
4) gbf phoned just as my energy levels were dropping - he came round, walked the dogs, vacuumed mum's house and loaded his car to bring more stuff to mine - what a sweetheart
5) so I treated the three of us to chinese for supper. mum has already gone up and i am wondering why on earth i thought getting the kitchen decorated this week was a good idea (oh yeah cos she was originally going to move in 20th August 😫)
decorator has kindly postponed till Tuesday cos it does need doing before the blinds come. oh but i'm tired!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

A busy day.
1. A trip to London to the Imperial War Museum. It had been a long time since we had been there. We spent most of our time in the Holocaust exhibition which was excellent and very moving.
2. In walk back to station we had to stop for an ice cream. I had pistachio which was very good. All were hand made. DH wants to go back in May next year when she will be making violet ice cream.
3. Another good train journey to rugby. We won by managing to hold on in the last play of the match. Season ticket holders next to me weren't there but a friendly couple were.
4. Walked to another station to get on train and got a seat before it became packed. Very friendly banter in the train.
5. Had a meal in London with DS1 and his girlfriend. A Greek meal which we all enjoyed.
6. As we walked on bridge over the embankment had to stop and cheer people on who were still doing the London Marathon at gone 6pm.8 -
Had to look up Fitchet pie Frith as hadn’t heard of, sounds tasty.
For yesterday,
My turn to get up early for small dog, lovely mild morning, prepped the beef for the SC.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge, oh my DD
Long, lazy bath whilst reading my book.
Tasty lunch then caught up on some programmes, inc ACGAS.
Evening walk with beloved and small dog, still mild but the colours are starting to change in the hedgerows, days march away.8 -
Hello. Monday evening.Beautiful sunrise.
Breakfast ( I have 2 bits of sourdough toast and melon …and a hash brown or two😆)
Swim: did 34 lengths mostly on my own, there was a brief period when an Olympian was in training! Strewth! And I only got out at 34 as a child was getting in!Went for a wander round a discount mall place. Got a pair of sandals.
Back to hotel to dump bags then took a wander round a museum. For some reason my back started aching this afternoon so didn’t go too far.8 -
Afternoon all!
Left work early as had a splitting headache (mainly due to the manager in my department, thinking about going to HR but that's another story!)
So I've collected the dog from my partners house on way home & we're now watching tv & mulling over my job situation!
Pleasures today....
1) Went to work in a great mood after a really good nights sleep (it went downhill about 2 hours into my shift!)
2) Left work
3) Had a good twine (that's the Cumbrian word for moan) at the dog about work & feel a bit less wound up now
4) Just finished jarring up my honey & my buzzy babies have down me proud this summer
5) Looking forward to melty camembert & crusty bread for supper tonight
Hope everyone is ok!

DD - there is (or was) another mattress called the same as smaller son!
VL - I haven't been to London since before the pandemic. One of my school friends ran the London marathon yesterday.
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Pottered around and vaguely tidied up.
3) Went to the English lesson at 2. My guys reappeared, so I must have been OK last week! Made much easier this week by using the 2 charity shop English - foreign language dictionaries I found plus google translate. We did dates and times (why is describing the time so difficult in English?) plus birthdays, good morning/afternoon/evening then we got talking about the weather and seasons and how every month in England is rain... I also told them the minimum temperature I have known here is -12 and they looked appalled!
4) Went to M and S for a cup of tea afterwards.
5) Pie and mashed potato with cheese for tea.
6) Bigger son is in Hungary! I'm bracing myself for when he goes to Auschwitz; I don't think he has realised how much that will affect him. I have emailed the Jewish side of my family (all in the US) in case there was anything they wanted him to do (or look at whilst in Poland) but they didn't really comment so I shall leave it at that.

Frith my DD2 ran the London marathon too - her first - she said the atmosphere was amazing and recommends to anyone whether they run or walk.
1) chose paint colours for kitchen (very pale pink as remember how pretty it looked with plaster before it was painted grey) and study (water lily which is actually a pale teal - i have teal blinds arriving on the 20th)
2) last of mum's things into my house hooray and the keys of her house handed over at 11:30
3) have been asked to do a job i really wanted to do at the uni - will be challenging but very rewarding
4) birthday lunch with colleague - other colleagues had arranged a cake and a big 50 balloon
5) 8pm ko and a much-needed Leicester win. Dr M was late (as usual, he blamed the bus)

Good morning. Been some lovely autumn days lately and it looks as if today could be another such
Recently
Visit from DS to have a natter and eat all our biscuits
Visit from DD to bring her partner's golf shorts to be shortened. I don't think she even owns a needle and thread!
Took some things to a different charity shop, Children's Air Ambulance. The staff in our usual one have become increasingly grumpy lately. Anyway, this one's better because we can park right outside. And they have a cafe.
Got my new hearing aids. Oh my word! I can hear everything. I actually had a headache by the end of the day, but am gradually adjusting them. Such an improvement. It's unbelievable!
Keep trying, and rejecting, new series on tv but are sticking with Karen Pirie and enjoying it. And the Scottish scenery.
Happy Tuesday everyone
