Glad to hear that your DM is ok TopsyTurphy
For yesterday,
Quick food shop, not really a pleasure as prices are so ouchy nowadays but stuck to budget, just! Did see a friend for a quick natter and both laughed at a squirrel climbing up a wall with bulging cheeks.
Bit of housework then out in the garden, picked the few remaining green tomatoes and put them on a sunny windowsill. Sorted through the windfall apples, piled up the really bruised ones and left for wildlife - we get deer in the garden - rest will be cut & frozen.
Over to see pony, she was excited to come in and it was like having a horsey kite on the end of a string!
Tea was Arancini with roasted veg.
Watched Ambulance then off to bed to read.

1) the lovely Lewis was able to bring my hair appointment a day earlier so 8:30 this morning snip snip snip
2) mum made lunch and dinner - i am spoiled!
3) my office is working out well - he's coming back tomorrow to continue with the storage
4) needed a break so went to the botanics for a talk - who should arrive slightly late but Dr M who came sat next to me. We walked back through his garden (envious his garden backs onto the botanics!)
5) saving the best till last..... I am now Professor of Medical Education. I am sooooooo thrilled. Knew last week but had to keep it confidential so have been bursting!!!! Got my letter from HR and the chair is backdated to 1st April.

Pleasures for today:
1) got a chunky stamp duty refund this week as we sold our old house. We filed and paid our self assessments early (no December panic YAY) so some went straight back to HMRC, then bought new axes for wood chopping, tucked away cash for Christmas and my birthday, sent DHs granddad's omega off for repair and put money into the oil category on YNAB. I'm also going to order some electric blankets for the two beds that dont have them and jump on the airfryer trend too.
2) REALLY enjoyed work this week. Get such a buzz out of it. Feel very lucky!
3) Food shop came. Managed to fill cupboard to bursting and have a nice meal plan for the week. Some will end up in freezer as DH has to go to England twice for work next week. I almost did too, but my team are flying here instead, that would've been a hectic week!
4) DH was stressed after a tough day at work so took it out on our woodpile and cut down a few days worth of logs5) Yummy friday night treat. Vegan 'southern fried chicken' salad wraps and HM sweet potato chips.8 -
Many congratulations, Professor DD! I hope it is like Casualty, where you get your new name plate screwed to your door within minutes!
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Met my sister at her Quaker meeting house where they had a coffee morning. Not many people went, but that seems to be the case with a lot of things, after coronavirus. They want to make it into a "warm space" every so often over the winter.
3) We went to the museum afterwards and had a jacket potato and spoke to bigger son's school friend.
4) Torrential rain for about an hour in the afternoon. I popped in to Sainsburys. Astonishingly, nowhere leaked in the house.
5) Had a good tidy, hoovered and cleaned the bathroom.
6) Finally given permission to cut smaller son's hair. There is so much of it. His shaver doesn't hold enough charge to do all of his beard in one go. We had a white hot chocolate with marshmallows to celebrate.10 -
@DundeeDoll - congratulations Professor.8
