Hello.
I had a thumping headache a few hours ago the pleasure is it is less so. Been a bit headachy last few days but have managed to nip them in the bud with paracetamol however didn’t have any with me today and it got worse and worse and it was noisy and busy where I was which didn’t help! Anyway feel better now.Rubbish sleep. Having just said to friend yesterday oh I’m sleeping right through the night! Er…not last night!
Had set alarm and kept pressing snooze. Went to an mindfulness session today. Was very good. Just down the road from where I’m staying and it was free ( why I went!)
Then out to meet friend. Met at the big art gallery and it was busy and hot and head was starting to ache and we went for lunch and it was busy and hot and so noisy and a baby was screaming in an ear piercing head busting kind of way. Anyway lunch was nice and friend kindly paid ( I’d got the bill last time) was glad to get out in the fresh air after 5 hours of being inside.
Even if the fresh air was of the wet kind!Popped into my bank to sort out a few things that I couldn’t do online. And to close a few accounts. I’d had little savings pots when I lived here and couldn’t cancel them online. The lady who helped me was so nice.Back to hotel. Painkillers and a dark room for a bit. Waiting on DD1 coming over for a sleepover.8 -
evening all
pleasures recently
1. Being in ICT for the first time in an age. I 'needed' to go and loved being there
2. lots of very social meetups - breakfast, two meals out and a walk followed by lunch
3. working out how to pump up my bike tyres - with the help of J. May on Youtube
4. Stopping on my cycle ride home to gawp at the fabulous starts
5. an evening in alone.
6. going twice to the pictures - The Woman King and Mrs Harris goes to Paris. Both very watchable
7. a real fire
8. fridge fairy has returned same time as me - funny that
9. morning out on the steam railway local to here, with breakfast.
10. OH has put in a new laundry line after the old one broke.
Have a nice evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) So much rain that I took 2 loads of drying to the launderette. All done in half an hour!
3) Had a cup of tea while I waiting for the washing.
4) Pie, parsnips and potato for tea.
5) Worked at the cinema showing a live stream of a ballet. Talked to the man working at the front for a bit then we realised we are (possibly) the only non Conservative, non Brexit voters so we had a chat about that and the fuss over the Queen.
6) 2 hwb ready.9 -
Pleasures for Wednesday
1. Pleasant dog walk through the fields
2. Another eBay sale
3. Sorted out mot for car
4. The dishwasher - love the way I can hide things away.
5. Feeling almost human again apart from sinus pain10 -
For yesterday,
A very windy day, tried to dry washing on the line but after a shirt detached itself and ended up in the hedge I gave up and put it on the airers.
Chores, bathrooms cleaned and floors mopped.
Made a big pan of veggie soup and we had some of that for lunch with a slice of cheese on toast.
The rain came over and beloved finished work early so we had a cosy afternoon catching up on Hjerson.
Memories all day of my lovely big brother on what would have been his 60th birthday, he was a smashing chap and still missed by so many people ❤️8 -
For past few days pleasures mainly from yesterday though.
1. Watching a puppy being so excited about going for a walk. He didn't know what to sniff next.
2. A patient very happy with result of her treatment and she couldn't stop smiling. I was definitely happier too.
3. Taking my own lunch into work everyday. Much tastier and cheaper.
4. Support of some people at work. It was much needed.
5. Discussion with manager and line manager. It resulted in me becoming upset but I have hopefully started some changes. They seem happy to spend money changing layout of a room but are saying that may not be able to give me all access to work recommendations. I don't really understand the thinking.7 -
many thanks dfv and warm wheat bag in bed sounds very welcome. For the 5th
1) dentist - sadly need to have 2 teeth out, the good news is the dental school is very close and these are unerupted / partially erupted so i doubt I'll notice re chewing power
2) then picked up library books i'd reserved online while in the Netherlands
3) mum cooked supper (she is settling in nicely, she cooks, I clear) then I headed off for
4) footie with the lads at mennies and who should be there but the Principal, Senior VP and Rector's Assessor. Once I'd ascertained they were there for a drink after official business I crashed their table
5) 9:20 the musicians arrived - this is informal ceilidh every Tuesday, much busier when the students are back. A lovely evening
And for yesterday
1) dog ill again, this time 6am and managed to jump on my bed - the good is that it was only on my pillow i was going to replace anyway and not on my new mattress!!!
2) painting finished and got them to move old mattress outside and heavy desk to music room and table from new office to old office (will be mum's office)
3) which meant i could move Billy 2*2 to new office (has my vinyls in and record player on top, was tucked into not very accessible corner, now in very accessible corner hooray
4) kitchen now pale pink and love it
5) and back to Mennies for Man City game

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned and tidied the downstairs of the house (and the actual stairs) and it looks a lot better for it.
3) One load of washing almost dried on the line.
4) Bigger son sent me a couple of messages and has released (?) a new video! He has done Slovenia, Austria and Hungary and is in Slovakia now.
5) Went for a cup of tea at the local museum and saw 2 mums from sons' primary school and 2 of bigger son's friends! Had a chat with all of them (though not all at the same time).
6) Popped to M and S.
7) Went to my sister's as she needed some conkers for a school project and I had also picked up a painted conker someone had left for others to find so I gave that to my niece.
8) Made rocky road with smaller son.
9) In bed with 1 hwb ready to watch some television.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNSJthLtf2Y

Friday already!Yesterday DD1 had stayed over and we went for breakfast and then for a tram to the zoo. I don’t think I ever need to go to a zoo again. Obviously I’ve not been there in a while, but was a tad disappointed! And I think if they told you as you come that there were several areas closed for improvements rather than discovering as you went along that various bits were closed. And pathways were closed so you couldn’t get full viewing access. And the whole captivity v wild thingy? Anyway was nice to spend time with DD1.We then went over to her friends for a couple of hours. I’d seen her briefly on Friday and we’d agreed to go over to hers for a cuppa. She’d made lovely chocolate and walnut cookies. We laughed as we watched a stare off between one of her cats ( from the inside) and a neighbours cat ( on the outside)
Nice walk from hers to the train station, there was a little library ( in an old fridge) near the station so I grabbed a book. Just loving the spring flowers and trees and bushes. Wisteria, wattle, jonquil, bluebells, gazanias, osteospernum.Came back to hotel to grab her things then walked her to the train station and then back to the hotel.Quick chat with son when he came in and then I went to bed! And slept reasonably well!7 -
someone told me there are 3 times in your life you go to the zoo mhags when you're a child when you're courting and when you're grandparents - my son's visit to the zoo is what told us he was courting 🤣
1) got together our 6 items for the council uplift so mum could organise (up to 6 items for £27, 12 for £45 so we went for 6)
2) lunch with a work colleague i haven't seen in person since pre-conference - we had a great catch-up and did the work we needed to do
3) RSNO concert with gbf - invited him for supper, he picked me up from work then we picked up dd2 from station then home for yummy steak pie and to the Caird in plenty of time - love it when a plan slots together so well!
4) met friends and had a catch-up at the interval
5) sadly dog had the runs again but shut in the kitchen which is much easier to clean - apart from that he seems very well.
will take him for last walk then he can sleep down here again.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
