Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Made an apple and mincemeat pie and a fitchet pie. Also more potato than I need to have some mash for another day.
3) Pretty much all washing done - I had washed everything bought recently from charity shops as I had been meaning to do that for ages.
4) Our football team won 2-1 so continue their FA cup run.
5) Haven't heard back from my ex boyfriend but bigger son is now one hour from Vienna. I've suggested he go back to the coffee shop where I might have "borrowed" a side plate from, 25 years ago! (I still have it).
6) Took smaller son to McDonalds.
7) Hopefully Casualty will be on shortly.
8) Had a tour of works next door. They are replacing the kitchen and fitting under floor heating.9 -
welcome mrsfarmer we're a friendly bunch
wow well done on the swimming mhags
good you're starting to feel better TT are you able to postpone your entry till next year?
shame about the elly griffiths happycas I loved the Ruth Galloway ones. I'm currently enjoying Marion Todd and Hania Allen (both based in my neck of the woods, so many bodies starting to look like Midsomer!)
For yesterday
1) we did make the connection at Schiphol just, but our luggage didn't
2) we had a lovely chicken curry at Riyadh airport
3) mum was at mine when i finally arrived home and greeted me with a much needed cuppa then left me to have a nap
4) then came back 2 hours later and we went for a lovely walk round the nature reserve having dropped stuff off at the dump
5) then i went to see the luton match at mennies. Dr M sent an apology (meal with the lads in town), indeed sent 6 texts during the evening - this is the man famous for his lack of communication! I thoroughly enjoyed the match, then went home well before closing time very happy.
and for today
1) up feeling very refreshed and a lovely soak in the bath
2) treated myself to a taxi to get to diocesan synod. taxi driver was lovely
3) really good diocesan synod, so nice to be back in person then a lift back with a prof who taught me when i did my masters 2001 - the start of a fabulous academic journey at Dundee, i have much to be grateful for
4) mum has almost moved in - we did some sorting at hers then some at mine - i do believe we are past the absolute worst - then a trip to the dump to discover it had just closed as moved to winter times 1st October d'oh so we left the stuff in the car for tomorrow and went to the local hotel for a cuppa and a chin wag.
5) and now supper is done, dogs are walked, mum's already in bed and i'm about to sleep on my brand new mattress which mum had bought then decided she really wanted her old bed which is a very good bed with a very good mattress so guess who has the new mattressand i really did need a new mattress so all has worked out well

Now in Cornwall for our holiday.
Good journey and spent the first night in Newquay. Really beautiful views and the sun came out. Nice meal at the pub at premier inn.
Then onto Padstow on Friday for fish n chips. Had to eat them in the car as it started to pour with rain ☔️ but they were very good and Padstow not bad either!
Then on to our gorgeous cottage in lovely Cadgwith Cove. It is really super.
Visit to Mullion Cove today and delicious home cooked boeuf bourginon tonight.

Very jealous Paulie, we love Cornwall!
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by coffee & croissants.
A beautiful warm, sunny autumn day, helped Capt S break up a couple of pallets as he’s making me a garden planter, after seeing a video we used a car jack and it was most helpful.
Came in to do the second prove on my loaf and while it was rising popped some rock buns in the oven.
Over to see pony, she has a new neighbour and had obviously been whizzing around her field as a bit warm & sweaty when I went to get her in. Only downside of our new yard is that it’s on clay ( we were on sand at previous home ) so harder to pick out her feet as can get sticky in there but can live with that for all the other benefits.Chicken tikka with a chickpea dhal for tea, glass of cider with.8 -
Monday morning here!Had a quiet Sunday. Clocks sprung forward.Finished my book.
Walked a bit ( was very busy) and then took a tram to the beach which was much less busy.Tram back. Stopped at supermarket for a few things. Then back to hotel.Went to bed early.7 -
