Oh, I is back! Red yous posts!
And now, this!
I nose, suffered from plumbers bum in me yard trousers and to bee honest, they has two get to the bin! New ones, after 25 years of paint, wooding and things!
Done loads since last missive so here is yours version of the life of the Admiral!
Watched the football on FryDay, Ayr vs Dundee (sorry DD, butt the Admiral was at Somerset park while he got his certificates!) Wobbleades and chesses were taken!
Watched moor then one flix on the box. Father Figures, St. Vincent and Top Gun. All very good while having some wobbleades and cheeses. Recommended. So later this weak weshals be watching the new Top Gun, when the price drops again!
Has lots of things done as well!
On Thursday we were out to the Italian for scran. A few years back on the radio thing, someone was complaining about paying £50 a head for some dinner, and paying for water! Well mes and the Albatross has good food, she has the whine all for less than £20 a head! And it was excellent as well, not lick the greasy fast non food joints either! As usual we has our barbecue of chicken tikka with a couple of snorkers as well! To good brekefest were has as well. On SunDae we has stake pies, with minted tatties, swede carrots and collie flower. Pan gravy topped the lot!
Monday we has the prawn poodles for dinner. Fresh king prawns, tossed inn a mushroom, onion, celery mix. Inn a sweet chilli cause tossed with stripped peppers! Poodles were stirred inn! Very tasty as well!
Now buck to normal, tuck the Albatross to her work this morning. I did her packed munch box as well with good things!
I think that is enuff, I doesn't wants to ...
Jen has a few four you!
On then?
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!11 -
Hello!Just in and it’s dark. And I’ve had to drive home in the almost dark…oh I hate it! The dazzle of the headlights! Gah!Anyway my day! Rubbish sleep as per usual. Up with doggy then dozed off again.Had to drop DD2 spare glasses off for her at her work. Grrr! Anyway took dog in the car and we went there and then back to mums where I did a final hoover and polish. About to go live and up for sale.Quick nip into supermarket. Dropped a bag of shoes that son had left into shoe bank in the car park.Home. And was all full of good intentions when the door went and it was my friend so in she came and we sat and chatted for a couple of hours! Then I hung out the washing.Picked a big bunch of sweet peas and lavender and verbena.Steak pie and a leftover potato from work and sprouts! ( real food)
Then DD2 came in and I went out! Had to pick up my second pair of sunglasses at optician which is way the other side of town. Phoned friend to see if she was in and popped into see her.
We went out a walk and had a good blether and then mindful of the failing light I left before it got too dark. Popped into supermarket ( had forgotten a banana for the dog and loo roll earlier) and came out and it was dark! Nah! I hate the dark!Anyway home , hello doggy it’s almost bedtime again!10 -
Another busy day at the conference
1) breakfast then some emails - uber booked for 10:30
2) great morning of networking then lunch then my talks - pecha kucha on planetary health then short communication presenting student's work on emotions of tutor giving feedback
3) someone came up to me and said best talk of the whole conference - i have fed that back to my student (now in his 4th year so sadly couldn't make it to the conference)
4) walked back to my hotel with colleague so we could drop off my bag then off for yummy tapas meal
5) we had a great evening, just us two laughing our heads off (my boss sadly has sinusitis and other colleague also not feeling good)
and now in my room listening to the archers. Luton is 2-0 up, boss not feeling good so has changed her flight to tomorrow (no champagne lounge on way back 😢) so I'm covering a session for the boss tomorrow - bed calls!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Tuesday). Day 6 of waiting for the missing GCSE English result...
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son popped in to have a shower. I went out to the van to chat to his girlfriend.
3) Posted an Ebay item.
4) Went to Ludlow for the charity shops (bought nothing) and had a pot of tea.
5) Had a few fairly humorous emails throughout the day from the teacher/exam man at smaller son's college. He had raised a complaint with Edexcel. At about 4pm, he thought he would log on again (I presume he can see all the results of the pupils at his college) and smaller son's result had appeared! I think Mr P probably got emotional all over again,
Drum roll.... he got a level 8.That was... unexpected.
6) Zoomed off to get him another Chinese takeaway! Phoned and texted everyone who had been waiting.
7) Then to the cinema to be the projectionist. Spoke to MrE for a good hour.11 -

Congrats to Friths son.
Caught up on posts, we were literally MIA as the steam fair we were at had no reception at all, no data towards the end of the week it didn’t worry us anymore.
The drive home was one of the worst we have had in a long time, 130 miles took 6 hours, we are not best pleased, but happy to be home.
1 We are both looking healthy a lot of time outside and socialising, as covid aware as possible.
2 Just about to hang the second wash load out.
3 Looking forward to putting a conditioner pack on my hair and having a bath, as the steam fair was as dusty as we’ve ever seen.
4 All the animals happy to be back, with Rhubarb and custard immediately dunking themselves in the water troughs as soon as they were in, I can’t say I blame them I can’t wait to do the same.
5 Looking forward to our proper bed and duvet tonight.

Frith, drum roll? You need an orchestra with cannons and fireworks! So many congratulations all round.
Hope Mr E was impressed too
I've not been posting here for a few months because I've been overcome by a surfeit of overwhelmedness (that's the best technical description I can come up with!) Feel quite a bit better now though.
Am getting back on track again, although there's a lot of day-to-day sameness going on, but here's five pleasures for the last few days (in addition to the Frith-family news):
1. Watching a very shabby, end of summer, little robin taking it's time to eat a fallen pear in the garden.
2. Making some money (£40) selling decluttered possessions.
3. Accidentally bought three books from the charity shop: two from my gigantic 'want to read' list and one that was about the history of WW2 food rationing which kind of links to some of the academic work I did last year. Oh well. The book buying embargo can restart tomorrow.
4. Nice chat in the wholefood shop.
5. Saw a single morris dancer wandering down the street in full regalia playing a melodeon on Friday. Didn't see any others. Have been left wondering ever since if he was just going for an evening stroll by himself and fancied dressing up, or whether the rest of the side had disappeared off to dance somewhere else and had forgotten to wait for him. Mystery.
Sweet dreams (and lots more cake, Frith)
