Frith - the money from your Aunt has come at the right time.
1. A nice walk round the garden with a coffee first thing. Made me feel better.
2. Work was good at a different site. A patient was lovely as I had moved days and sites for her to come as I have a meeting in Monday. She was grateful though that daughter didn't miss school next week.
3. Drive colleague to pub for work social. Arrived early so had nice chat before others arrived.
4. A colleague who left in June turned up and was lovely to see him. He is enjoying his new job.
5. Decided to enter pub quiz - only 5 of us at this point and by some miracle came 2nd and win £30. We were lucky that we got a question right the fastest and top 3 all got it wrong so we leapfrogged into too place - then moved down in the last 3 rounds.8 -

As I said before Frith the money could not have gone to a more deserving person
1) The postie brought an envelope with 3 lovely pictures, 2 of Broughty Ferry and 1 of Dundee - many thanks to the very thoughtful person, and since you didn't (as requested) put your address for me to pay you the P&P I will pay that forward
2) Talking of which, got a nice letter from the Heart Foundation saying they have already made £80 + tax refund from my donations
3) porridge for breakfast, fried egg sarnie for lunch, hm stew for supper - nice to go away but nice to come home to home cooking
4) walked the boys down to meet DD2 - can't believe that's 2 weeks she's done already
5) and now I've lit the candles (partly used, free to a good home from church so very mse), made a cuppa and am watching episode 2 of The Great with 2 hours before it disappears from catch-up. I really do need to catch up!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good evening.More good news, Frith, but what an up and down week you are having! Some pleasures, in brief, I am tired and need my bed, not that I'll sleep anyway but, hey, let's concentrate on those pleasures:1) Eldest grandson had an induction day today at the college he really wanted to go to and all went well. He can do the A Levels he wanted to do.2) Another soft, autumnal day.3) Shopping order arrived so we are well stocked up.4) Used some of my freebie apples to make two crumbles, and a lemon drizzle cake used up two sorry for themselves lemons from the fruit bowl. All in the freezer away from temptation.5) Busy but pottering sort of day, enjoyed being at home baking, washing, ironing, sorting, putting thing in order, making plans, just 'being'. On a bit more of an even keel today, thankfully.Right, off to bed now with a new book - another pleasure!Enjoy the weekend.10

Shops local to here have closed overnight, due to the gas and electric bills for commercial premises, and it’s hard not to start panicking a bit when you can literally see it happening now. We are wondering what is going to happen, I am looking to reduce down a freezer, but I am not convinced it will make much difference in comparison to the way the rises keep going now.
Frith, So glad to hear of the inheritance turning up, just when it's needed.
1 Watching the ferrets play in the very long overgrown grass that’s now to wet to mow, did the washing line dance trying to get it all in before the rain got heavy. I also ordered up another pack of nemaslug things for the garden.
2 Upstairs is re cleaned, having ferret kits is a bit whiffy, not their fault but hormones are developing, and we can’t get them neutered until they are fully grown at Christmas, so extra cleaning it must be.
3 We’ve not been shopping since we got back but all okay meal planning wise, today was chicken wraps for lunch and toad in the hole with veg for tea. We did go to Aldee in the end and I really am very grateful to have been there at the right time, we were able to get 75 percent off all of the meat and the veg that we eat, where we bought extra and some vastly reduced cakes I’ve popped them in the freezer.
4 Watching Lucifer.
For today
1 DH took outdoor housework, while I did the inside, he got the garden strimmed, mowed, and tidied and the rain literally followed as he walked through the doors, I did the inside, changing all the ferret areas, sweeping and mopping and carried on cleaning out the van.
2 Yesterdays RTC chicken, is shared between the ferrets and us, for us it was sweet and sour tonight, for the ferrets it is chopped up in the fridge. Thought about the oven and lunch was cooked alongside the cupcakes.
3 Watching Tim Dunn enthuse over railway buildings, while eating a homemade cupcake.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son appeared in the van and drove me to the cinema (car still waiting for repairs). A cheery hello from Mr E. He looked happy to see me but perhaps it was just the surprise (I wasn't there to see him). Had the necessary training upstairs from a very quiet man who doesn't like shouting over the noise of the equipment.
3) Bigger son then dropped me at home - and set off for Europe... Took a video of his van driving away through the village. Went inside to have a little sit down.
4) One hour later - bigger son returned! He had forgotten various bits so had come back, with his girlfriend. Her mum had cried so much that in the end they had driven off. Then off they went again. They have driven a few hundred miles and have parked up not too far from Dover.
5) Had an Indian takeaway for tea.
6) Talked to my neighbour for ages about his house repairs and my very strange week!
7) Did about an hour of gardening.
8) Spoke to my school friend on the phone.9 -
For yesterday,
Not exactly a pleasure but got on the scales and have dropped half a stone in the last week, worry & stress I guess.
Another warm, sunny day, bed changed and all washing done.
Went to leave for the yard with Capt S, we were going to take both cars as picking up most of my stuff but his wouldn’t start so had to go in my mini. We did manage to get my big box in but poor old beloved’s seat had to be so far forward his nose was nearly touching the windscreen! Pleasure was when we got home and tried it again his car started.
My horse, calling as she saw me walking up to her field, nuzzling into me and generally showing a lot of love. She usually sulks when I’m away for a few days so this was different and suspect she is picking up on stuff, clever pony but made a little tearful.
Thai green chicken curry for tea, with poppadums & mango chutney to snack on while it was cooking, wine featured as well.
Watched the hundred, followed by Cats and Last Leg.

1. Enjoyed my dog walk - very peaceful. Long chat with owner.
2. Had massage - painful but much needed and feel much better after.
3. House much cleaner and managed to wash bedding and for it to be virtually dry before the rain.
4. Good train journey to watch rugby. Pre season friendly but at home sitting in our seats. It was fairly full and a good atmosphere.
5. The crossroads in the village are open. Cars should stop speeding past our house o on a road which is mainly single track.7 -

Done loads. Now ready to get off on Monday! Yes, via the block at the old skool! Such a sham that the one in care there once said no English, no place! Tuff! Now!
Did take the Albatross to her work on FryDay before Veterans breakfast! Scran and banter was had by all as well!
Home and watched the thirst [art of Escape from Alcatraz. It is true as it is filmed in colour. Wobblyades and cheeses were taken as well!
Off this morning to get provisions. Disappointed with the boo tick I has voucher four. They could not sell me the disposable barbecue! I only added two to make it up to £30, so left with nothing instead! Jobsworth? Still, got other bits from the discount surplus store!
