No-one and nothing is near dfv, Sue.🤲💞
&'s posts are mere patchy catch-ups in an increasingly dysfunctional world, occasionally making it through from a connectivity blackspot.
Years ago, I could post simply and quickly.
Yesterday's mob. surgery was akin to infectious invader removal, from USA and Pakistan, then Portugal, but not a virus or hacking.
Yet again, all their 3 techie heads puzzled over successive failed attempts to fix the &mob. There's still a nuisance glitch, in that I have to pass through 3 stages to 'see' anything at visible size on a page shape, but it's 70% workable, needed as I've just sorted the first of Friday's Preview articles out🙂and successfully em'd it for lay-out.....🤞

harvest looks yummy ampers
love Mark Steel frith I was listening to his visit to the Isles of Scilly last night. and so for yesterday
1) gbf dropped by to walk the dogs at lunch time - he was surprised i was still at home so cadged a lift to Ninewells
2) everything is slotting into place at work and my Dean is respecting my timescales which is very encouraging
3) the risotto lasted both lunch and dinner - clearly the BBC recipe is for even bigger appetites than mine!
4) packing done
5) still couldn't get eVisa to work (10 minutes my foot!) so walked the boys then gave it one more go - worked with no problem at all - trip isn't till 26th but I'm away on holibags till 21st. So my updates may be sporadic. A week in Venice then a week with my eldest in Dordrecht

Good afternoon. Sunshine after the rain here
Highdays - the joy of retirement has still not palled after 15 years. And as an ex teacher, I still greet September with a happy grin.
Unlike our Admiral - happy return to work! Enjoy!
Ampersand - glad you managed to post. And what an epic post. But , ouch. Your poor car!
S Sue - it's so difficult if walking anywhere is painful. Has anyone given you a possible time scale for an operation?
D Doll - travelling again. And to Venice! Just a bit jealous
We're back home after a lovely long weekend at the caravan. Did very little except relax - which was the reason we went.
I used the laundrette to do the bedding before we came home. Not very MSE I suppose but good to have it all sorted quickly. I don't have a tumble dryer so laundering bedding needs careful planning with an eye on the weather forecast.
Lots to watch on tv at the moment( makes a nice change). We've just watched the first series of Capture. Yes, we'd seen it before but had forgotten most of it. Now ready to watch Series 2 but might watch a few other things first. Better not leave it too long though or we'll forget it again!!
Happy teatime everyone

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A day of organisation! The most complicated bit was signing smaller son up for Universal Credit, for now. We've both got to go in to chat to the lady.
3) Also answered various emails, including signing up for board game playing with the asylum seekers locally. Had an email of congratulations from smaller son's science teacher.
4) Changed the bunk beds and did all the washing.
5) The car is fixed! I have really missed it (since last Thursday). They mended the brakes first and I removed their "brakes don't work" handwritten note to themselves as I got in the car! After that mammoth job, they MOTd it and, to my astonishment, it passed! (Well, it really shouldn't have failed on the brakes). My car is now 19.
6) Bigger son phoned from France! He has been to his old job (still closed), swum in the sea, used one of the beachside showers to have a full shower and hair wash, to the amusement of some French people. He said there was "a kerfuffle" in a French supermarket but turns out that the self checkout swallowed his 20 euro note so he had to see the manager and explain it using Google translate! They are going in to Nantes tomorrow then will travel on to Andorra then Spain. The van is holding up well.8 -
1. Watched Only Connect first thing. Answered some questions.
2. Saw some lovely patients at work - shame about some of the staff.
3. Left work on time. Left loads of stuff that needed to be done.
4. Managed to finish all the ironing. Pleased it's done. I now have a much wider choice of clothes to wear!
5. Lit candles.9 -
Good morning! This time yesterday I was in the queue for a bus!I’ve just woken up having slept ( possibly even in the same position(unheard of so maybe not 😆) all night!
Anyway for Tuesday :
Nice doggy walk, the robins singing all the way down the road as we walked. Then I’d to get in a bus to go to the city! I’ve been on one local bus last year when my car went for it’s MOT and I’ve not been on the big bus for 2.5 years. This bus was veering off to the university so wasn’t going in to the bus station and I’d to get off at bottom of city and walk up hill to my destination! Anyway I got there before my appointment time. Was seen promptly then had to hang around for a few hours till I went back.
So I’d to mooch around ( not expecting to have to go back thought I’d be coming straight home ) for a few hours. I hate big shops. Went in a few but they just annoy with their heat blasting out, the loud music, the over-pricedness of fast fashion. Went in one charity shop but the choice was poor so straight back out. So loitered in one cafe and had a nice chat with the girl behind the counter and then loitered in another for an hour or so just people watching and stretching my drink out!Bus was waiting in the bay when I got back to bus station so that was good. And much quicker going home than there in the morning. I’m so fortunate that I don’t have to do that drive every often. Thankful for my short drive / walk.Hello doggy. He’d had a doggy daycare visit anyway so that was fortuitous as I hadn’t expected to have to stay as long. And then the rain started! So I’m glad I missed that by all of 15 minutes of getting home. I’d have been soaked! And very thankful I got my washing in just in time too! First thing I did when I got in as I knew the heavy rain was forecast .
Then a quiet rest of the day pottering around. We had a house viewer so hope to hear something from that this morning. I’m not doing the viewings, the estate agents are.Chat with friend on phone till gone 11pm ( maybe why I slept all night though it doesn’t always work that way😆)
Have a lovely day. I currently have no plans so shall see how the day progresses!9 -
For yesterday,
Pleasures 1-5, moved my equine pal to her new home!
Transport arrived just before 9, she hesitated for a minute at the bottom of the ramp then walked straight onto the lorry, hurrah! Loaded up our belongings etc, no sign of toxic yard owner and didn’t even come out to say goodbye or thank you for 4.5 years of loyal business, rude!
Arrived at new home, girlies eyes on stalks looking at everything, walked her out to new field, trotted up and down a bit calling to new neighbours who answered back hello, then head down grazing, she hadn’t seen much grass for months.
Packed away our belongings, talked through meals, routines etc with lovely yard staff.
Headed home, bit of lunch as no breakfast then promptly fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours!
Back over to see her, happily munching hay in her new stable, people stopped by to say hi and admire Princess pony ☺️
Phew, all done.10
