And it’s bedtime as the alarm is set for stupidly early o’clock!Very helpful supermarket staff as I needed to return something and couldn’t find the receipt .Doggy walk round big park, a few more conkers found.Home! Then had to go out for doggy sitter coming in so niece and great nephew picked me up and we had a very splashy time at local woods. Lots of puddles. Lots of chatter. Lots of cuddles.Home! And GN and doggy played in the garden. And skiddled in water. Dogs bowl full of pebbles so need to remember to sort that tomorrow!Aunt and Uncle visited. They were stuck in traffic for ages. They had a cuppa then we went round to mums. Aunt wanted one last look and took some cuttings and some garden bits and pieces. They went on their way and I walked home.Sorted some stuff out. Then DD2 home from work. Then just in from her getting a new phone.Beautiful sunset.10

I have no idea why this happens to us Frith, we are both nice people yet romance takes one look and takes a detour far as i can make out. I have quite given up on Dr M. Video from your son fab - we also had lightening in Venice
1) slept very well, breakfast in the apartment
2) then all 6 of us went to the railway station to get our tickets for Tuesday - queues very long as there was a strike yesterday and people trying to get tickets changed / refunds. The 2 buying sent 4 of us off for a coffee - i had an aperol - then more coffee when the 2 buying arrived (i was still savouring my aperol)
3) a lovely wander and ended up goodness knows where and had a very pleasant lunch sharing pizza and salads. wandered some more then a Vaporetto then back for a snoozette and cups of tea
4) off to friends' apartment to listen to the King's speech and a toast
5) then off for a very nice dinner where the lovely owner passed on his condolences. We toasted the late queen and the new king and queen consort though we agreed that was a bit of a mouthful. And then we raised a glass to absent friends.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

DD - I had to go to a huge effort last night to kill off as many feelings as possible, going over every conversation and amplifying how it felt to be completely ignored. I had looked forward to seeing him for a week. In reality, he hasn't done anything wrong and probably didn't pick up on the fact that I liked him at all.
Should have said - bigger son couldn't get to the dentist before leaving the UK (she was on holiday) so excuse the lack of false teeth in his video...
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A good sleep!
2) Achieved little today but did hoover the floors and clean the kitchen etc.
3) Took smaller son to McDonalds.
4) Bigger son texted to say he was about to drive over the Pyrenees. He's probably in Andorra by now.
5) Went to B and Q for some plants. Did some gardening and put the new plants in.
6) Went through some photos for my brother's birthday tomorrow.
7) Mark Steel has been cancelled tonight (was going to see him where I volunteer) so I'm watching Gogglebox.9 -
@Frith when I was in school, i picked odd countries to do my reports on - sure that no one else would. Andorra was my favorite. I wrote to the President of Andorra and he sent me information about their national debt - they were going to issue another stamp to pay it off. I used to work for a stamp company and my favorites were small countries and countries that didn't exist any more - but a lot of them have come back into existence again.10

I was stopped in my tracks as the music on the radio changed and just knew what the announcement was before we heard it.
For the last few days
1 Opened the curtains to watch the amazing thunderstorm last night.
2 Continued sorting out the freezer, and continued sorting out clothes, a pleasure to be getting on with it.
3 Batch cooked a massive bolognaise / chilli sauce for both tonight and the caravan food freezer drawer, as we’ve decided to toddle off in the van again soon, for tonight I’ve made it into a chilli.
4 Remembered to do admin bits, filing company bits online, reordering my meds, and the animal meds. Also, despite usually never seeing a doc, at 6am this morning I was able to get a same day appointment and prescribed some strong antibiotics.
5 Took 5 ferrets for their distemper jabs to get Rhubarb and custard access to the garden.
1 We travelled to the in laws and took them out to St Margaret’s Bay and the weather was so kind bright and breezy, in contrast to the forecast.
2 MIL is babysitting a dog who is recouping from a major op, so I took it for a slow meander along the sea front, but it wasn’t allowed down onto the beach, as it would put too much stress for the recovery but really did seem to enjoy himself.
3 A lovely bacon sarnie from the café there for us all
4 Just enjoyed spending some time, with a scenic route back to theirs, our journey home was some back lanes to enjoy the storms that seemed to be all around in the evening.
For today - now yesterday??
1 I dusted the whole house as the spiders tried to take over, by dusted I mean ceilings and corners but not the obvious places where there’s still dust. And properly wiped down all the kitchen units
2 Today we let the kits get in the garden and it looks like it feels like to them we live in the best place in the world.
3 We had a grilled sausage in the ends of the bread for lunch and ordered in late.
4 Booked in for an autumn camping break, which is lovely to look forward to.

I too lost a post.
Frith - where we go in France is South of Andorra on the coast. I love the area and the scenery of the Pyrenees is fantastic.
1. Have picked sunflowers as the plant had fallen over as had too many flowers in it I think. I have 9 in a vase from same plant and left some for the birds to eat the seeds.
2. Chat with my Mum she is recovering from minor surgery on her leg. She is doing ok.
3. DS1 had tickets for cricket on Thursday which was rained off. He is an expert in covers coming on and off though.
4. House is still tidy. Have started decluttering.
5. Enjoyed a dog walk and saw a couple of deer with antlers against the skyline.
The shock of the news on Thursday even if it was expected.8 -
Good morning
I surprised myself by how upset I was about the Queen. But I must confess I am not watching the wall to wall coverage on tv.
Sadly two of the biggest days in our town's racing calendar have been cancelled /postponed. This will affect so many people from businesses which were already struggling to folk who did a few hours casual work to boost their income. I do understand why, but it's very sad.
Managed to get my hair cut this week. The price has gone up so much I put it off as long as possible but he's the best hairdresser I've had for years. I think I should explain the law of diminishing returns to him!
Went to see a friend who's struggling. She's not well, and there's been a family fall out, so she's feeling lonely. I've offered to go with her to a local coffee morning in the library to see if she likes it. I hope so, because she's feeling very isolated at the moment.
Still working through frozen leftovers, which always seems to generate more leftovers! E.g. Cooked some bacon to go with a small portion of leftover liver and then had leftover bacon! Anyway, that went in a carbonara next day so that's all gone!
Had been looking at ornamental grasses in the garden centre but couldn't justify £30+. Went to BnM for cleaning supplies and found a beautiful one for £8:50. Snapped that up!
Happy weekend everyone

For yesterday,
Tackled Mount Ironmore then changed the bed and gave the cottage a good hoover / sweep.
Started a new to me book, Song of Achilles.
Over to see my equine girlie, still keeping 🤞but she seems very settled already which is far quicker than I anticipated, suspect she had been picking up on my tension and now obvious relief, she’s a smart cookie. We had had rain on and off for most of the morning and she had obviously had a fine old time rolling so was covered in mud! Stood her in the sunshine and gave her a long groom, she fell asleep! Nice friendly people stopped for a chat.
Home just in time to see our new King give his first address to the nation, I thought he was very good.
My appetite is nearly back to normal and thoroughly enjoyed my paella tea.8 -
