Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Achieved little during the morning. Had breakfast in the museum cafe.
3) Did a load of washing and nearly dried it on the line. It is just finishing off hung up in the living room.
4) Smaller son's new football shirt arrived.
5) Bigger son stopped in Andorra overnight. He messaged me that it is "small and mountainey".
6) Went to my parents' for my brother's birthday tea.
7) In bed now and hoping that perhaps Casualty was shown on BBC2 and that it will be on iplayer.9 -

For yesterday,
A very welcome lie-in.
Lazyish morning, did make a loaf, warmed up some sausage rolls for lunch and prepped our evening meal for the slow cooker.
Capt S came over to see horse in her new home, took the last of our stuff over and gave girlie some attention. We all went for a little walk and noticed so many blackberries around so must remember some containers for next time.
Home, took small dog for a walk around the fields.
The chicken tikka was yum, first time I had done it in the SC, no rice but did have a small naan each with it, followed by Limencello gelato.9 -
1. Met a friend and had good catch up. Hadn't seen each other in ages. We met in local garden centre and I didn't buy anything other than a coffee.
2. Planted some seeds in the garden- spinach, lettuce and some cabbage. Hopefully some will be successful and grow.
3. Picked more tomatoes. They taste so much better picked straight from the plant.
4. Driving to see friends in the evening DH stopped the car as the view across the river looked superb and was a strange light.
5. Great evening and meal with friends. Great talking and laughing during the evening.9 -
Hello. What a week, inevitably sadness seems to be all around and I feel very raw and overwhelmed with mine and everyone else's emotions. However, recent pleasures:1) Some lovely autumnal weather, soft and gentle but still some warmth in the sun. The rainbow over Windsor Castle was stunning.2) Took little grandson to feed the fishes again, others had the same idea and the poor fishes could barely manage to eat all the fish food. However, one of the lovely volunteers told us of a secret garden so his mind was taken off the fishes as we went on a hunt for the hidden gem.3) Been doing some sorting and moving of units in my son's kitchen, it all works so much better now and it is all arranged as he wants it. Some building work to be done next year but, in the meantime, it doesn't feel quite so temporary and gives him time to think how he will want it laid out when the time comes. There are walls to be knocked down and steels to be put in but then he will have a lovely big kitchen, dining, sitting room with bifold doors and all that jazz, it will be amazing when it done. Everything we do is helping him to move on in his new life.4) Hubby is currently putting up some shelving in the utility room, I am beyond excited about this for some reason!5) Batch cooked a load of meals, all portioned up in the freezers for busy and 'can't be bothered' days.Enjoy the rest of the weekend, I'm off to fill some new shelves!9

Hello. Currently lashing with rain so grass never got cut today ( should have done it yesterday)
lovely walk this morning. As a beautiful sun was rising .And a big full moon still in the sky.And in to work. And for some reason we ended up over staffed so I took one for the team and said I’ll go home 😆
So was home at midday which was very nice!Had a few bits and pieces to do so did them. With the Queens final journey on in the background. I’d had it on at work from 10am but the young pups I work with on a Sunday didn’t really get it so I’m actually glad I was at home.Quick chat to friend. And just about to pinch a bit of birthday cake. It’s DD2 chaps birthday so I’ll have a bit even though they’re out 😆9 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did a few jobs round the house.
3) Went to carpet town and read my magazine whilst having a pot of tea in M and S. Then popped to Sainsburys for a few bits. Stopped at KFC for smaller son on the way home!
4) Did some gardening. When we had the really hot weather, the farmers rushed to get everything in so my front strip of garden had nearly disappeared under straw that had fallen off the trailers. Swept that up and did some weeding. The old cat deigned to have a fuss on my knee for a while.
5) Had macaroni cheese and garlic bread for tea.
6) Spoke to my school friend on the phone.
7) Just remembered I got some YS sausage rolls from Sainsburys for this evening! How exciting - I'll heat them up just now!
8) Had various messages about the board games afternoon with the asylum seekers tomorrow. Looking forward to that, hopefully some chess.8 -
