That made me smile about your son and his hair Frith ☺️For yesterday,
Lazy start and warm pastries for breakfast.
Our guests left around midday so I popped over to see pony, very warm by that point so we stood in the shade together and she had a little snooze while I rubbed her back.
Not much else done all day apart from a couple of loads of washing and a half hearted tidy round!
Too warm to have the oven on so we picked at leftovers and salad, ice-cream may have been involved as well!
A walk in the cooler evening air, gave small dog her sniff quota for the day and watch the baby bunnies diving for their burrows.9 -
A ragbag allsorts of 5osps, in no particular order.
1. Watching polo as I write -
2. Doing the watering before 5 bells these days. Essential. Feels good. Crazy growing surges again this year, especially the march of the volunteer potatoes. &'s centenarian gardening guru says to dig a few up. Will do ce soir.
.
3. Open Studios visit after terrific church earlier. Wonderful potter, internationally known, and & will somehow manage something, some little thing..... video'd round with permission and immediately sent>Spain. Knew P would love it all too. He does.
4. A dozen yummy escargots, very VERY V-E-R-Y rtc in the emporium, enjoyed by & with haricots verts, rien d'autre. Lush and scrum, eaten outside, during which first bean flowers were noted, pink sprig and red sprig on same borlotti plants!
5. Yesterday's ABs' defeat was a ghastly display amid all that's good at Peacock HQ. A certain amount of teasing ensued, needless to say.😁 If the utterly useless Foster is sacked, tant mieux - should never have been appointed. He's been 'in charge' for our 4 needless losses, all recent.

Hello and workety work day number one done. Very busy. Everyone coming in looking all cool and summery…me looking suitably frazzled!Anyway awake before my alarm went off this morning. Out with doggy nice and early and a lovely walk just us two and lots of birds this morning. Also out watering the garden very early & 💦🌸
into work early but nipped home for 20 minutes for no other reason than it just breaks my day! It’s a long day otherwise. And DD2 was there with doggy so it wasn’t as if I needed to walk him just came and sat in the garden!Excellent tips😊 it’s been a while since they’ve been excellent tips! ( what they used to be most days pre-covid) straight in to the jam jar.
Then hello doggy it is so nice to see you too! Glad that’s the first day over ( only another six to go…)
And alarm set early again…sigh.It’s a beautiful evening.7 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) House reasonably tidy.
3) Watched the Wimbledon final.
4) In a fresh hell, the wasps nest over the bathroom window has suddenly increased dramatically and you can hear them through the ceiling FROM A DIFFERENT ROOM. Despite keeping the windows shut on that side, a wasp still appeared in smaller son's room. I don't even want to think about where it sneaked in. The pleasure is I phoned a local wasp man and he is coming round tomorrow, for £55.
5) Tasty roast dinner, though hard work cooking it in this heat.
6) Just getting organised and doing my house insurance quote in good time. Also looking for a birthday present for my friend's daughter's 18th birthday.8 -
Not a pleasure, OHs dad died on Friday but at least he was in his own home with his wife of 65 years and is out of his suffering 😢 ❣
Actual pleasures:
its too hot 🥵 for me but beautiful blue skies and dips in the hot tub without feeling cold getting out.
Nice simple easyish food: chicken fajitas, homemade curry from the freezer, chicken tray bake.
Lots of cherries 🍒, especially as I got a 2kilo tray for £3.99 at the till not £6.99 as on the ticket 😊
Fan by my face in bed and another one downstairs.
Enjoyed the Wimbledon final although I’m not a fan of Novak, is it just me or is he on a charm offensive to try to win us over. Lovely tribute to Sue Barker, she will be missed after 30 years.
Night all 💤

3. ds2 had bought milk and bread
4. Hoping for a good sleep as on nights tomorrow
5. Air Conditioning in my car10 -
Sorry to hear about your FIL Paulie x
For yesterday,
Up early, plants watered and dog walked before sun was too awake.
So many butterflies on the hedge blossom, they keep coming into the cottage and beloved isn’t keen so much gentle cupping & releasing.
Lunch out with friends at nearby Hotel / Restaurant that came highly recommended. We had a great table that was by the big doors onto the terrace so not uncomfortable to eat, I had the best risotto ever, Black Bream and Seafood, oh my.
Headed home and cue much lolling on sofa with cool drinks.
Evening walk around field, still warm but small dog got loads of sniffs.

Fantastic weekend full of pleasures, spent with stepson and family in Buckinghamshire.
Convivial conversation with family on Friday night over big glasses of rose wine with ice.
Seeing our dog and their dog socialise happily, swapping food bowls, water bowls and squeaky toys.
Shopping in Bicester Saturday getting the 14 year old kitted out for his school camping trip, others shops were also investigated and enjoyed.
Interesting conversation with the 12 year old, who is interested in 20th century history, especially World War 2 and the Cold War.
Saturday night at Gifford's Circus, it had a Mexican theme and the acts were amazing.
Sunday morning an early ramble through the fields with the dogs, before it got too hot.
Barbecue lunch followed by fruit and clotted cream, followed by watching the tennis.
On the road again, arriving home at 21:30. Feeling very virtuous this morning because I took the time to put a washload on, using the timer, that will finish in an hour or so. I also set the bread maker going also on the timer, so we will have fresh baked bread this morning.
Final pleasure - I have two days to recover and enjoy the hot weather before going back to work on Wednesday. One life - your life - live it!10 -

Tuck the Albatross to her works this morning, I thinks as we has rid most of the roadworks, a new land speed record attempt is not far away! The Albatross does not recommend flooring your wheels and ...

Good afternoon
Was up and doing the ironing at 6:30 this morning. I'm not a big fan of ironing but even less so on hot afternoons so I thought I'd get it out of the way.
Then yoga. A very gentle version which was lovely in the heat.
Yesterday was DGD birthday party (2 now). A great time in the garden with a BBQ and Pimms ( adults only if course but a virgin version for younger people) Not had Pimms for ages and had forgotten how much I like it.
Nice easy leftover oven veg and chicken to use up as fried rice for tea. And birthday cake for afters.
Happy 🌞🌞 day everyone10
