For yesterday,
Cleaning, cleaning in the morning, only a pleasure when it’s done but TMS kept me going, what a chase!
Was mopping the wooden floors upstairs when Capt S left for a meeting, when I went into his office he had lifted his heavy office chair onto the desk for me, it’s the little things isn’t it ❤️Lunch and then I cycled down to the garden centre in the village for a cuppa and a catch up with a friend, we sat outside in the warm sunshine, cake may have been involved as well.
Picked up a sad looking Hebe in the reduced plant section, hope to resurrect and plant out.
Tea was baked pumpkin ravioli with added veg, love a one pot meal.10 -
Hugs to DFV 😊
Recent pleasures:
Watching lots of great tennis 🎾, although it’s very time consuming!
Lovely home cooked food: chicken and pork with new potatoes, veg, lemon and oregano tray bake, apple muffins, bolognaise pie (with mash and cheese on top, not pastry) .... trying to use small oven or hob, thinking of investing in a ninja oven.
Numerous flower pots are looking beautiful and very colourful and now eating chard and salad leaves from the garden. Hope the runner beans hurry up, had 2 early ones then nothing, they are in flower though.
Several dips in the hot tub, very relaxing.
Walk along the river and lunch on the white water rafting terrace with friend yesterday, although there was no rafting and the taverna was closed so ended up with a sandwich 🥪☹️
Have a great day everyone 😊9 -
Morning all
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Plasterer finally began - though it was a lot more destruction than construction
2. good journey back - better to leave plasterer to get on with it as he otherwise spends a lot of time talking!
3. OH picked me up in his new to him car. We don't need it but he wants it. I've christened it the Unnecessary Car (anyone remember Chickenopolis from this thread and her OGV? Ostentatious German Vehicle - well this is a UGV, Unnecessary German Vehicle). But he's happy and it's red!
4. made a nice tea of chorizo, prawn, potato and tomato mallorcan stew - everyone loved it.
5. watched the first episode of Sherwood - we're in!
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -

We has the Haddock Kedgeree last nite for diner. Proper smoked haddock from the discount surplus stores! To peaces used, chopped. Finely chopped onions (Yes I do not always doe toe nail still!), some sweet corn and peas. Long grain rice, remember that bascarpi is only long grain too rip you off! Fired inn the pan, then the haddock tossed inn, with the boiled rice, and wished round with the egg! Very tasty. Then summer fruits, strawbs, blackberries, raspberries, and ice cream! Good for you. Water was taken. Enuff haddock leftover for too day!
On the subject of the discounted surplus store, the haddock was £3.19 against about £8 at the boo tick. How can w8r5 justify that? All the fish comes from Grimsby!
Watched the final act of Rigoletto. Very good! Waters and cheeses were taken. Then watched Man vs. Bee Very good on the flix system! Has a twist as well!
Has mes bisket of weet inn iced milk, tee for brakefest and set the Albatross off with her full lunch box!

Good afternoon
Sorry. Been MIA. Can't think of a good excuse or reason why either!
DfV - the last thing you need at the moment is other people's admin being awkward! I do hope it starts to run more smoothly.
S Sue - hope all is well and you're gradually beginning to feel more like 'you'.
Recently
Back from the caravan and back to yoga. Three consecutive weeks. A definite record this year!
Getting in a major tangle with travel insurance. Our annual policy won't cover a new problem! That's two hours of my life gone, and still not resolved! I think the pleasure is we can see a way forward. Maybe!
Patio door glass replaced. These were new in January following a burglary. One was blown, and had lots of condensation so they've replaced all three. At last.
Managed wordle today. An achievement as I hate double letters and today's was worse than that!
Paprika chicken tray bake for tea. Chicken marinating as we speak. New recipe so fingers crossed.
Happy afternoon everyone

DD hope you’re okay and just keeping busy! And my Wednesday has been a busy one ( is there any other kind of day?)
Quick sniffy walk this morning! In at work a bit earlier. But was leaving earlier so same amount of time. Parked for free.
Straight up to mums to take stuff to tip. Update on declutter thread.
Then round to boss’ to drop keys off and some paper for her daughter. Chatted for ages.
Was almost blooming 1pm by this time!Home. Hello doggy. Let’s go to granny’s to do some more!Back round. A bit more sorting. And there is a difference I can see that but oooft at all the stuff! Still loads!Got soaked ( weather is frightful!) so had a shower and jammies on and fell asleep sitting upright on my bed!More roses and hydrangeas.
Also bought some RTC white roses and some not RTC white stocks and gypsophila….cos I’m worth it!
Doggy in hairy mode just now. So hoovered again. And could knit two wee Yorkshire terriers with what I hoovered! Just as well I love him!
And just done a washing that I’ll need to hang indoors which I hate at this time of year but it’s utterly ghastly. I’ve a thick pair of socks and a big jumper on. I ain’t putting the heating on in July!Found 2p this morning in supermarket car park and then was given a tenner for running around doing work stuff in car last week.9 -
Elisheba - it's higher drama now!
VJsmum - I remember talk of the OGV.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the bathroom and tidied up in a way that could only mean the valuation man was coming to see my house.
3) Valuation man appeared and seemed more on the ball than the last chap. Then he gave a valuation of £15,000 more! He is also selling the new houses being built opposite and they are going to be £380,000. Strange, modern dormer bungalows with no garden - madness.
4) Went to town to look at a community cafe that does various clubs and workshops. It has been there for years but I've never got round to it. Very interesting. I asked for a cup of tea but a Nick Frost look alike man showed me round the workshop bit and talked about all the courses they run. Stained glass and jewellery making would be my courses of choice, but all outside what I could afford.
Whilst chatting, Nick Frost said they do lots of homeschool groups and there were in fact 3 teenage boys there, making mosaics and bird boxes. I said I would like to say my younger son was home schooled but in reality, he is "just homed", which made him laugh. We got talking about that (he also works at the sort of unit smaller son frequented and enjoyed in the past). It was such a jolly place. I took a leaflet and it turns out they are looking for volunteers to serve teas and possibly make a cake or two in the kitchen. I'm pondering whether to ask more about that. It was nice to not have to justify why your son isn't at a mainstream school and why few plans come to anything. I did feel a bit like crying in front of Nick Frost, but pulled myself together.
5) Drove on to Sainsburys.
6) Finished painting the bit round the front door, standing on a chair. Not pleased to see a wasp nest in the eaves right above me.
7) Have thoroughly enjoyed the rolling news coverage this evening... Maybe he will have resigned by the time I have finished typing this!11 -
Frith I’m giving up on the news coverage and going to bed! Just blooming well resign! How stubborn can one buffoon of a man actually be!I just wanted to see the actual moment he came out and said ‘I’m in the wrong . Goodbye👋 ‘ but I’ve an alarm set for the morning 😆10
