Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) A lie in.
2) Cleaned house. First load of washed bedding is on the line. Second load is still going round in the machine.
3) Had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for brunch. Hadn't had that in ages. Meatballs in tomato sauce for tea.
4) Watched the Norrie/Djokovic match this afternoon.
5) A lot of my joints are too flexible and go "out of joint" (not literally) and have to go back with a click. My right knee had been out of place since before the pandemic started, necessitating a deep Teresa May style curtsey to get stuff out of the low kitchen cupboards. Stretched out as I've done hundreds of times - and it popped back in!

1 Today I’ve sanded, hoovered up, sugar soaped, taped up and now ready to start finishing painting the landing, it will be a pleasure when I have finished!
2 Bacon roll for brekkie and lucked out with a cooking bacon packet full of rashers.
3 Won 2 sofas of the bay, a 2 seater and 3 seater white leather with mahogany base and drawers in it, we need something to sit on while we shop for sofas as camping chairs aren’t cutting it. And 30 pounds for two sofas just seems ridiculous so we will see as picking them up tomorrow which should be entertaining in it’s own right.
4 Washed a lot of dirt off from the above decorating and sat in the sun for my hair to dry.
5 Only achieved half of my own to do list today, pfft doesn’t matter.

Pleasures for last few days
1.Seeing family up North
2. Walking the pup round the park that I played in as a child & hung out on as a teenager. It’s still fabulous.
3. Watching Simply Red & Lisa Stansfield in concert after obtaining last minute tickets cheaper.
4. Lunch out with dd & ds1.
5. Seeing a friend who I’ve know for over 23 years who gives the best advice for free.11 -
For yesterday,
Mushrooms on toast for breakfast, bit of a set us up for the day thing.
DSS and lovely gf arrived, we changed into our finery and set off for a day at the races.
Hot sunshine, more Pimms and some decent winners, DSS found a £2 coin on the floor, added the necessary extra 50p and popped it on a 100/1 shot each way, it came second!
Then all the pleasure went out of the day for me when a horse broke down on the line and had to be destroyed, the dark side of racing 😞
Home and time spent out in the garden, pleasantly cool after the heat of the day.8 -
Good morning - just
This weather seems to be encouraging a lot of cleaning!
Topsy - everyone needs a friend like that
PK - wow sofas sound fab!
Have oiled the garden bench today. You could almost hear it slurping the oil up. Looks good now though I'm a bit hot and bothered!
BBQ for tea so I just need to do some salady bits this afternoon and leave the cooking to himself. Then he'll be hot and bothered!
May spend the afternoon on said bench with Louise Penny
Happy 🌞Saturday everyone9 -
1 Up early to collect the sofas in multiple trips, got them home, I still can’t quite believe we picked them up for a whole £30 I still cleaned them both up, wood wax feed on the base and leather feed for the top. Ordered in some Ambersil, the god send in leather cleaning. I think it’s also safe to say we both agree we have reached the point where we are too old to be hoisting sofas around. The lady we purchased them off re decorates and changes all furniture every 4 to 5 years no matter what, literally everything goes??
2 Leftovers for lunch, and grilled chicken and salad for tea.
3 Made a batch of chocolate brownies, no sugar, just because well who needs a reason.
4 No painting today as I ran out of time before we would need to walk on it, the amount being painted has expanded already thou.
5 Remembered to put in a repeat prescription, also remembered to be in it to stand a chance of winning it.

Hello! A busy day however with a bit of me time thrown in 😆
Up early and lovely doggy walk first thing just us and the birds.
Round at mums early to load car.
A walk round the big pond at the park in town, met some I used to work with years ago so had a chat with them.Back to fat camp! Had only put in half a pound ( I’ve not been doing it at all but think my nonstop current lifestyle is keeping the weight off! ) anyway I have things to be skinnier for coming up so back on I must…just not today 😆
Then straight to tip for drop off number one, there was a drop off number two and then a huge charity shop drop. Update on declutter thread.Home and hello doggy and DD2 for half an hour then back round to mums for an ‘hour’ that was more like two and a half. There is now a clear and hoovered floor in one room upstairs. This was the room of doom and a blooming achievement even if I say so myself…and I have to say so myself as it’s only me that sees it!Popped into NDN for a chat and an update. She’s been worrying about me so I like to reassure I’m okay! And home. And out to my garden sofa and may have snoozed. Then showered and off a gallivanting I went…to the pictures all by myself! Went to see Top Gun. I’d intended going the week mum died and obviously didn’t. Well I thoroughly enjoyed it ( and I’m not a one for an action movie) and thought it was excellent!Popped into supermarket on way home and got RTC flowers for my bedroom and may have also got magnum type ice lollies…hence why I’m not getting skinny today! Now in bed and alarm is set for silly o’clock! Of course it is!10 -
Pleasures for today
1. Not happy when the alarm went off for work just after 4, but had a clear journey in at that ridiculous time.
2. Home made Tuna Salad for lunch
3. Got out 20 mins early and Return journey was good too.
4. Had a sore throat and headache - tested but was negative thankfully
5. Home and playtime and cuddles with the pup.6. Now in bed ready to sleep to do it all again tomorrow.9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Another bright, sunny day. Have now washed and (nearly) dried all the washing and bedding.
3) Watched the women's singles final.
4) Smaller son decided he wanted his hair cut. It needed cutting before his first exam, so now was nearly in a bob. He wanted it clippered at the back and sides then longer at the front (it has a bit of wave in it). I ploughed through it, sneakily whizzed his sideburns off while he wasn't looking. He swept the long fringe the way he wanted it, looked in the mirror and said, "I look FRENCH" ! This made me laugh for ages, as he really does! He's got black hair, black eye brows but green eyes and he now either looks French or as though he's in an early 80s synthesiser group.
5) Popped to Sainsburys for supplies and because smaller son has outgrown all his t shirts.
6) My brother has just come round on his way home from tea at someone's house and given us half a Victoria sponge with layers and cream, jam and strawberries. The BSD still applies; I have had a strawberry.9
