For yesterday,
Fancied a fried egg on toast for breakfast so that’s what I had.
Chat with a friend, she’s just starting a round of chemo after finishing radiotherapy but is staying positive.
Over with the pony, bit of work done but don’t think my heart was in it so mostly just time spent with her.
A flurry of surveys boosted my earnings.
Bacon & egg quiche for tea, stuffed peppers alongside.
Promised myself a glass of wine if a certain person resigned but finally went to bed having consumed nothing but water.10 -

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied up and dried a load of washing on the line.
3) Went round the charity shops. One had the radio on for Boris Johnson's speech and we all gathered round as though war had been declared! Then we all cheered, then tittered and got on with our days.
4) Bought lots of cards - for upcoming birthdays and for all smaller son's teachers. Just got to make him write a line or two in each one now...
5) Ordered my sister's birthday present.
6) Picked currants, raspberries and strawberries on the allotment but it was too hot to do any proper weeding.
7) Got smaller son a Chinese takeaway for tea. The BSD continues for me, but with less dramatic effects as the weeks grind by...9 -
Good morning. It's absolutely beautiful here.
I knew he would never admit to being in the wrong! It's all someone else's fault! But at least he's going.
Mhagster - please tell me you're not now doing two jobs! There seems to be several more hours in your day than anyone elses!
Rude awakening this morning. Cramp! Did the cramp dance for a while, trying not to squawk and wake DH up. It didn't go off so limped into the kitchen and made a cuppa whilst hopping about and muttering. Gone now but my leg still hurts.
Got the latest Louise Penny book for 99p as an Amazon daily deal a few days ago. Think she's my favourite author at the moment.
Picked a few flowers to go on the dining table. Ours isn't a very flowery garden but just a few with lots of alchemilla (sp?) and leaves looks lovely. There's lemon balm in there too so it smells good.
Fish fingers and salad in pitta bread for tea. I made red onion pickle too which was ridiculously easy.
Don't seem to have picked a needle up for days. Will make some sort of sewing a priority today.
Happy 🌞 day everyone9 -
For yesterday,
Bit of a food shop ahead of weekend guests and dropped a bag of clothes off at the BHF.
Went to see pony, no work just a groom and fuss plus a carrot of course.
Out in the garden to dead head and tidy but getting hot so sat in the shade to read, I’m revisiting The Magic apple tree by S Hill and enjoying the summer section.
Warm, even in my north facing kitchen so tea was a Goats cheese and pepper frittata- just a posh omelette Admiral - with a bean salad.
Big glass of wine to toast the resignation of you know who!6 -
