Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Big meeting at potential new college for smaller son. I was thinking as I drove over that it was strange that I wasn't as stressed about it as I would normally be. Parking was an absolute nightmare, then I trudged through torrential rain - to find that they had a perfectly good car park!
The admissions lady gave me a tour round (umbrellas in use) and I got to see their barge on the canal, the workshops, cafe etc. The arts and crafts stuff isn't really smaller son's style. However, it sounds like they would follow his EHCP and actually do all the OT and SALT stuff that all other schools have ignored completely.
They also have an off site farm and do day trips, shopping etc. Smaller son hasn't been "to play" at anyone's house since he was 8 and has been either at home or taught 1 to 1 for 4 years, so anything social would be good (and a shock).
At the end of the talk, she said he was a suitable student but that Worcestershire CC had made EVERY PUPIL go to a tribunal to get in (and they all had). How disgusting, and what a waste of time and tax payers money.
3) Had a cup of tea in the cafe (run by students). Then got home and had to hide all paperwork and change my clothes into normal scruffy clothes so it wouldn't be obvious that I had been to a secret meeting...
4) Went to an National Gardens Scheme open garden with my mum while my brother took the opportunity to walk down the lane and look at a new hydro electric thing.
5) Had lo meatballs and sauce in a pitta bread for tea.
6) Took smaller son to look round PCWorld and Sainsburys.
7) In bed now and will watch the Great British Sewing Bee.
8) Bigger son is in Snowdon with his girlfriend and they are going on the zip wires tomorrow (not in Snowdon).10 -

Recent pleasures:
We went to see Downton Abbey film, very enjoyable and used my Clubcard points.
Last night we went to see Rumer (singer) in concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank. We had cocktails and dinner at Strada beforehand which was lovely. This was all my Valentine’s present from 2020! It was a great evening and London looked spectacular in the sunshine (after lots of rain) and at night.
OHs day off, so swimming this morning and eye 👁 test this afternoon.10 -
Good afternoon
Several pleasures rolled into one. We are slowly getting top side of the pesky covid. I'm feeling not too bad at all, though very tired, and DH, who was more badly affected, is beginning to feel a little better. I'm very aware that, although nasty, ours was quite a mild infection. I really feel for those who had it badly.
More good news. A sliver of wild garlic that I 'foraged ' from a car park last year has taken in our garden and has a lovely white star flower. Only three leaves so far so won't be making pesto this year!
I thought our council was going for no-mow May ( and March and April!) of the grass verges but they came and cut them yesterday. No grass box on their big mowers so now we have 'hay' all over the paths!
Have managed to do some housework today, not too much of course, so think I need to spend the rest of the day reading!
Happy afternoon everyone

happycas it seems our council have done the same! Drove to pick up DD2 yesterday and thought woah that’s long and then went to local tip this afternoon and thought woah that’s a blooming mess! Grass just left in the wake of a mower! What a state!Anyway another day another alarm clock going off early. In at work till 1pm today. Voice still rubbish so not able to chat as much as I’d really like to!Grabbed a cup of soup on the way out the door…was yummy ( I made it of course it was! )
Home and hello doggy! How very nice to see you ( currently stretched out at my side)
Took old blinds and all the blooming boxes the chap left to recycling centre. Thought they might have cleared that as part of the job. Anyway it’s all done.Optimistically hung out a washing ( sticks head up to see if it’s still dry and it’s not! Grrr)
Friend called for a chat. Oh you sound dreadful. Thanks.10 -

"Did you know that the hatters did that on a squad costing £1.5 million!" indeed BOP. Fulham the parachute club on the other hand... so another horrendously busy week though did fit 2 football nights with DrM.
1) yesterday managed 3.5km run with dd2 and we chatted all the way - furthest I've run since covid
2) as I knew today would be too busy even to get food cooked lunch and dinner at breakfast - hot and sour chicken soup with some veg that needed finished and last of the chicken - it's my absolute favourite soup at the mo - and veggie chilli for supper
3) very good annual review with my dean - he's approved my training request that I thought would be too expensive but he thought was really reasonable and totally fits with how he thinks I should be developing yay
4) 6:30 finish - should have had 30 mins for supper but was chairing a non-work AGM at 7 (online) and speaker had to pull out - I found out 6:38 - offered to do the talk instead (must learn to keep mouth shut!) so finished my easter egg while I spent a frantic 22 mins pulling together a talk on Sense of Belonging for
5) agm - talk went very well - agm finished just after 9 then finally got my chilli - yum - and now in bed with The Archers
Tomorrow is a very big day 🙃
