1 Picked up a unit we plan to re purpose into a new ferret unit for them, from a lady clearing her mums house, we love the old properly made furniture. When we explained what we were doing to it they were tickled and reckon their mum would have approved.
2 Meal planned for the first time in a while, everything will be from scratch, grilled chicken with wraps, chilli and a roast joint for Easter.
3 Had a rather strange and unexpected food delivery, I do remember putting it together a long time ago now, but I must have moved it rather than cancelling. It’s all stuff we will use so it’s not a problem, and delivery was in a one-pound slot charge, I was annoyed at myself for forgetting thou, and I thought that a supermarket was supposed to remind you of an order to amend it but they didn’t we are just unexpectedly well stocked.
4 Returned a phone case that was really bad and the refund is through already.
5 DH just reminded me to register for the promotional bits and bobs that come with the new phone, that’s not an easy process but all done now.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a great sleep but had a lie in.
2) Did various jobs round the house.
3) Had a cup of tea in Waitrose.
4) Drove home through a different village to pause outside a house for sale. Obviously, I can't buy it, but I can't buy it a bit less than most other rural houses. A couple were looking round with an estate agent, damn them!!
5) Local FB had a post offering free plants, just down the road. There were many (50?) so I had three little currant bushes and 2 tomato plants. I also took the opportunity to throw rubbish from the car (into the bin!) while I was pulled up right outside my house.
6) Had pizza plus dough balls for tea.
7) Felt a bit gloomy today so I sat in bed this evening and watched Four Weddings and a Funeral. For some reason, I never got to see it whilst at university but our tiny local cinema here is always 3-4 months behind so I saw it once home in the summer (from memory). The cinema was packed out, with an extra row of chairs across the front. I went by myself as everyone else had seen it and it was a very jolly atmosphere!
8) I am trying to stay one step ahead of smaller son so I can answer GCSE biology revision questions (long time since I took it). Today, I learned what an autoclave is! Bigger son was convinced bacteria were observed growing on "Elgar jelly".
We're off to Chester on the train tomorrow to watch our football team away. This evening smaller son has criticised the train I have booked, that I don't know how far the ground is from the station (I know that perfectly well), the food and drink I was going to prepare and just about any other part of my plans. Also, I am incapable of reading a timetable, which was news to me as we have made it across Europe and back on many trains...11 -
Ahoy Admiral, enjoy your tour 😊
Horrible cold that I’ve had for over 3 weeks finally seems to be going and I managed a walk around favourite lake with friend on Tuesday.
Hair appointment cancelled as hairdresser has what I’ve had, so don’t know when that will get done.
OH now doing his summer hours so working Sundays and has Thursdays off, so yesterday we headed to the coast again, this time Brightlingsea.
New to us, it was a lovely sunny ☀️ day and we enjoyed a walk along the prom and back, admiring all the beach huts and boats.
Usual bacon roll when we got there and a pub meal later, managed to grab a table outside. Lovely day out.
OH working today and then off to see his team play Orient and mourn their decent out of the league ☹️ I’m going to have a pottering day at home and in the garden, as it is sunny ☀️ again may finally pot on fuschias and veg seedlings. Then round to friend’s for Chinese and wine 🍷 later.
Have a lovely Good Friday one and all 😊11 -
ahoy there Pirate Pete!
For yesterday,
Warm, sunny weather so windows open and the house got a good airing
Did a food shop, wasn’t as busy as feared and got a few rtc bits for the freezer.
Over to see pony and we worked in the school, around blocks and over poles, she was a little poppet.
An evening pub meal with three gf’s, tasty food and excellent company, what more could you want ☺️Driving home through country lanes and a barn owl flew out in front of my car, that heart shaped face.12 -

Pleasures for yesterday
1. a sleep in till 8.30! Unheard of! (though last night got it's own back 🙄)
2. pictures with DS - Dumbledore. Was ok, but glad we have Odeon unlimited so didn't pay. effects were good
3. OH went to see MiL - i think a pleasure is that i didn't, she wasn't easy apparently
4. Though once again she's given each of her grandchildren £500 (totalling the £3000 you can give away tax free). DD was especially grateful to be able to put something in her savings.
5. a fire - I suspect one of the last of the year.
Have a great afternoon / evening all. I'm off to the pictures again for a sleep to see operation mincemeatI wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Hello. It’s been a very Good Friday.Though I did wake at 4am stifled…DD2 had put the heating on last night after I’d gone to bed and forgotten to switch it off. I was not best pleased. My smart meter had been at 23p before I went to bed! Grrrrr!Anyway went to supermarket first thing. Then we went to garden centre. Used my birthday voucher. Got veggies and 2 nice plant pots and 2 marguerites. Then we did a bit of a country detour and popped in to see the beau’s mum…and 4 little kittens.Home to have lunch with the niecelys and DD2 friend and the beau. Was very pleasant and very funny! Much chatter and so much laughter. Had our Easter egg hunt early as I’ll be working. Had to chase everyone out the front garden ( normally would do it when my own kids were in their own rooms! ) so I could hide them. DD2 upheld her status as champion! She’s been doing it for 20+ years! They all went away and was just enjoying the peace when my boyo phoned. So chatted with him. He’s had covid but better now.Made a very nice pavlova for pudding this afternoon so may have another piece later on. Certainly don’t need dinner.
Brought washing in almost dry.Won’t be a late night as alarm set for early o’clock.12 -
