Art'noon all
Frith - we used to live in Chester, a walk around the walls was our 'go to' walk for all visitors. the house we couldn't get rid of for £60,000 in 1992 is worth about £375,000 now 😮
Sue - hugs
Pleasures for Friday
1. OH and i went to see Operation Mincemeat - enjoyed it and stayed awake thanks to a strategic cup of coffee
2. a walk up the lane and back in the sunshine
3. a walk to the cinema and back also - did 4 miles in all
4. gin
5. possibly the last fire of the season as it was too hot..
and yesterday
1. finished my book
2. went to the shops and it wasn't too painfully busy
3. finally finished DS's bedroom by giving him curtains as he often comes home from an early and needs an hour's kip (he had blinds but needed it darker)
4. lunch in the garden - homemade (by OH) soup
5. OH singing again so DS and i watched saturday night tv together.
and today
1. Breakfast out as it's OH's birthday tomorrow but we're going to Majorca at silly o'clock and the kids wanted to have a family meal of some kind
2. OH liked his pressies and the cake i made last night (carrot)
3. Easter eggs!
4. DS went to work but DD came back from 'Spoons with us and we had a bbq in the garden - first one of the year
5. have packed, showered, and defuzzed ready for my hols.
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -

Enjoy your holiday VJM
pleasures:
sunny ☀️ weather
Chinese and wine 🍷 at friends
OHs mum to dinner, not been for ages as dad too poorly, but he’s still in hospital. She really enjoyed a full roast dinner, wine and tiramisu!
A quiet, lazy day today with just a little bit of Easter 🐣 chocolate 😊
Watched the rest of Outlander.
My front garden is full of bluebells 😊

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Went to bed and left the window open. I can never sleep properly with it open but was woken by nice things - the dawn chorus, later by neighbours chatting then by a red kite!
2) Went to feed the remaining hen who is in her final days now. They always go one after the other, when their time is up.
3) Tasty food today. Chicken and salad sandwiches for lunch then a leek, bacon and pasta cheese for tea. Jack Monroe "liked" my tweet of my tea as it used 19p leeks, cooking bacon and pasta. Some left for my lunch tomorrow and 2 portions in the freezer.
4) Had a good tidy up and dried 2 loads of washing on the line. That is all the bedding done now.
5) Mum, dad and my brother popped round for a cup of tea. Dad has had identical symptoms to everyone else's coronavirus but never tested positive. He has the slightly out of breath thing now that I have. Hopefully he did have it, as we have been so worried about it for 2 years.
6) Phoned my school friend.
7) Am vaguely watching Country File now as a lot of it was filmed in Herefordshire.12 -
My pleasures for today
Good journeys to and from work
Mini egg Easter egg bought by supervisor at work
Sausage, Bacon & egg roll for breakfast
Puppy cuddles lovely apart from the sharp teeth
Sunshine today, then seeing the glorious moon tonight13 -
Good morning. Love all these sunny days
CJ - what a beautiful baby
VJ's mum - ooh Majorca! One of my( many) favourites. Enjoy!
We've been making the most of the weather and doing some garden tidying. The green bin is full now though so that's it until they come to empty it.
Have rearranged the living room and it feels much better. Unfortunately that left the tangle of wires from router, land line, alarm etc in full view so DH is having to sort that out, with much muttering!
Had Christmas dinner yesterday. The turkey crown, not eaten because DH was in hospital, has languished in the freezer since then. So we had it yesterday. And very good it was too.
DS rang and asked if we'd like some chocolate. That must qualify as the daftest question ever. A friend has given them some and they've too much ( another daft thing to say in my opinion!) so he's bringing some round for us. Diet can be put on hold for a while!
Happy Easter Monday everyone13 -
For Easter Sunday -
A No Gadgets Day
Lots of Walks and Talks
Munching on too much Easter Egg chocolate, but not feeling too guilty about it.
Full English Dinner
But a bit of a dispute of a word in Scrabble. I wanted to use "Maximize", thanks to "Maxim" being available. But my partner said I couldn't use it because that's the American way and not the British spelling. Checked the rules online for a clarification, but she wasn't budging, and I couldn't get rid of my Z or earn a few good points.13 -
Happy travels VJSMUM.
For yesterday,
Early morning walk with small dog, peace & quiet.
Capt S managed to get some petrol for the mower so cut the grass, deliveries are still very much hit & miss here in the east of England.
Laughing out loud at the Unbelievable Truth
Tasty lunch, duck legs in orange sauce, braised red cabbage and new pots, wine was also drunk
Watched the other semifinal, the Palace might have lost but they certainly out sung the opposition.
Evening walk, bit cooler but still no need for coats.11 -

My top 5 for today:-- Listening to my favourite rock band, Rush at high volume, via my Bluetooth headphones while cutting the lawn
- Appreciating life, despite all the problems associated with it. And how lucky I am to be living where I am compared to other countries.
- Appreciating my loving partner, who I desperately want to marry some day. But have always been put off due to the blinkered views of her parents.
- Getting to know folk on this forum
- Enjoying a cold beer in the garden while I slave away still cutting the lawn and helping de-weed the garden in order to keep my partner happy.
