My five:-
- a rather gorgeous Hunter's Chicken, followed by a ice cream sundae down at the local pub
- Have started watching Peep Show, to see what all the fuss is about. Looks very good so far
- Dusted down the skirting boards, doors, door frames, architraves throughout the house; and then emptied all the kitchen cupboards and drawers and gave them a good clean to.
- Ordered a bunch of flowers to be delivered tomorrow for my partner as part of the Easter celebrations
- Beat my partner at Tennis and 10-bin bowling on the Wii this afternoon, Yay!!!

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep but an earlier start than usual.
2) Got the train from Ludlow to Chester. All trains packed out today. Also the bus journey from the city centre up to the football went smoothly.
3) Had lunch in a cafe.
4) Had a quick walk along the city walls. Lovely weather today.
5) The football started badly (2-0 down) but we equalised. Poor security (I often find this) with one Chester fan running around the pitch then running over to swear and dance about in front of our fans. Security and the police just wandered around so it held the game up for ages! One of our players had an horrific ACL injury last year and has only played for a short time in 3 matches, after 9 months off. Unbelievably, he wasn't tackled today but just twisted his ankle and he has torn the ACL in his other leg.
6) Lovely views on the way home. I tried to photograph the moon over the Long Mynd but it was difficult through the moving train window.
7) In bed now and will watch HIGNFY. They hardly need to be satirical this week, they only need read out what has been happening. Camps in Rwanda, anyone?11 -
Away again in France.
1. Flight was ok. Only bumpy in usual Place and was ok at the airport not too long waits.
2. Sun and warmth. Beautiful blue skies.
3. Went wine tasting and may have brought some bottles.
4. Fish at local restaurant good as always.
5. Relaxing.11 -
For yesterday,
A full night’s sleep with not one disturbance, rare as hens teeth these days.
Busy morning, dug out a fleece horse rug from shed as a possible covering for pal’s new equine pal, my big shouldered Bertha just grew out of it.
Cut back my sage, fed all the other herbs and did a general tidy.
Despite #1 enjoyed a post lunch snooze on sofa.
Made a tea loaf plus a bread loaf, malted with seeds.
Afternoon walk with beloved and small dog.
Paella for tea.
Full moon rising behind the beech trees.10 -
Good morning. Beautiful sunshine today.
Admiral - I'm jealous. Love NY.
S Sue - lovely to see you. I wish I could say something wise, but I'm not very good at that. I'll send you love and hugs though and hope that the clouds start to lift soon.
Yesterday's excitement was a visit from all three DGC.
DGD (13 going on 30) and I made a recipe she's found. Essentially it was a brownie.with halved cream eggs pressed in the top, runny side up. Very rich but she was pleased. I sent it home with them!
DGS (8) played with the quoits set and had a real maths workout adding up the scores.
DGD (18 months) transferred pebbles from the path to her toy baking set and threw some in the pond
We had a pizza picnic in the garden followed by strawberries and ice cream.
DH and I had a quiet glass of wine after they went home ( and after we'd spent a good half hour clearing up the chaos!)
A perfect day 😀
Happy Easter everyone

Hello! Bedtime! Yes really as the alarm is being set for just after 3am! I’m getting up around the same time as the Easter bunny! oooooooooft!Anyway this mornings alarm went off early and quick doggy walk and just us and a lone blackbird singing at that time.Couple of hours in work and then home and walked my doggy. Birds all awake by that time.Sorted out the pots at front door. Filled my new pots. Swept up. Looking better.Cut grass.Put up parasol and put garden sofa cushions out. Took the greenhouse out ( one of those plastic thingies) Slightly more room in the garage. Gave away the paddling pool that was bought for the dog but he didn’t appreciate it!Hoovered downstairs. Then there was a knock at the door…my boyo was there. So we’ve had a lovely afternoon, the dog was delighted to see him. Not seen him since November. Got a few big squeeze hugs out of him to do me till I see him next!Gave him his Christmas stocking fillers!Chattered and then he sorted out the garage ( I may have been moaning on the phone last night! Certainly wasn’t expecting a visit) his car is full and my garage is emptier!I planted some herbs in my veg patch.Went to L!dl. Got the boy a pile of stuff and a few things for us but we didn’t need much. Still £14 my usual spend. And then over to the ice cream shop!Home and a rake through the larder cupboard and filled a bag for him!And he’s just left with an absolutely stuffed car! No idea where it’s all going to go but it’s away from me!Night!12

1. First mow of year and mower - lives outside in a Ridgeons bag - started instantly. Planted both Belfast sinks with garlic again🤞. More fig pruning. Bits showing buds plonked into sludgy rainbutt water. They'll likely take. Birdie visitors singing all day today.
2. Wonderful Maundy Thursday service included 🎶Happy Birthday to K, with his fave Lemon Drizzle cake made by J. K is &'s veg. garden advice man and splendid - 100 last Wednesday!😇😁👏👍👌 He's keen for his cataracts appt.in a fortnight, so he can do his crossword again.
3. Some very, very rtc hot cross emporium buns, enough to pass on.
4. The Heidelberg youngsters, girls and boys - U13s/U14s/U15s, arrived yesterday for the Club's Easter🏉weekend, staying with 🦚Club families. & spectated yesterday, after a special Good Friday service outdoors. It's the Tournament's 21st birthday after 2 years missed due to Covid. Marvellous to see them play, hear goodwill and great support all around.
5. Another glorious sunny day with layers against a chilly wind, then a magnificent full moon. Feels as if it's come round very fast this month.

Lovely to read of your happy times in France, vl.🇫🇷. Well-deserved and well away from work stresses.
- Chatted last night at rugby with Addenbrookes charge nurse friend, just off duty. Covid is rampant, despite tory denials. There is not one icu bed left in the whole country. They are disgusted and furious about Fabricant's 'party after work' comments. Hard to see him as Andy Street's other half.
- More lovely pics Paulie.😀You are so good with your collages. &'s wandered around Brightlingsea in years past.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Was having a good sleep, until the early arrival of bigger son!
2) Hens OK.
3) Bigger son and I went to town to buy some paint, go to the ironmongers, then look for charity shop clothes to him to dress as one of the Peaky Blinders for a fancy dress party tonight. He got a waistcoat, suit jacket and flat cap.
4) I got a new pack of socks then we went to M and S for a cup of tea.
5) Went out to Sainsburys later where loads of things were cheap/reduced. Got lots of 29p packs of vegetables then reduced (19p) packs of butternut squash and, also for the freezer, a reduced fruit loaf.
6) Made colcannon for tea which we had with sausages.
7) In bed with a cup of tea and about to watch Casualty.11
