Some nice surprises today:-
- Being told to work from home (again) after another covid outbreak at work
- A surprise KitKat left on the kitchen table on my return from work, thanks to my lovely thoughtful partner
- Currently watching Fleabag on my nasbox, one of my fave sitcoms
- robins nesting in my garden again
- A lovely home-made Korma curry and naan for dinner tonight
- (an extra one. I found a £1 coin down the back of my sofa. I can instantly tell its mine
)

Happycas awh sorry to break your illusion of me …I had a huge 2 hour nap at lunchtime!Rainy start to the day but stopped mid afternoon. Was out in garden for a bit and filled two buckets full of weeds etc.
Really didn’t do much else!Had toast for late breakfast, watched some more Outlander so I’m all caught up…it had a rather gruesome ending which ended up in my dream whilst I was napping!Finished book I’d borrowed from friend so took that back to her…popping in for five minutes about 45 minutes later I left!Picked DD2 up at work ( seriously who wants to drive at that time of day in traffic? )Just been a quick doggy walk and I’m now in bed!12 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) My new to me handbag came from Ebay. I loathe and detest handbags (one step to getting a shopping trolley) but needs must with a purse, phone and pen. Old handbag is in the washing machine.
4) Did lots of jobs whilst out. Went to B and Q to look at paint and buy door handles and a new bulb for the kitchen spotlights. Had my hair cut. Went to Sainsburys and M and S for various food stuffs.
5) Did a roast for tea.
6) My brother popped in.
7) Wrote to my MP about Partygate. We're very long overdue a change.

shopping at well known store A**I and having a ready made lasagna for tea, it was rather tasty.13 -
Welcome ZolaBuddy
Amen to that change Frith
Pleasures for last couple of days, hope they will stick as having broadband problems so have jumped on phone’s hotspot,
Washing out and dried on the line.
Cleaned out the water feature aka the bird bathing facilities, topped it back up and switched on, within 10 mins the whole sparrow squadron were having a bath.
Time spent with my equine pal.
The bats are out hunting at dusk again.
Off to Uni City for a haircut, my hairdresser is looking to relocate out of the city, no more parking fees!

Good morning all and welcome again ZolaBuddy🙂👋 Did so like your 'I can instantly tell it's mine '😁 Found money was long called a 'reverbe' here, after an osper who logged her frequent finds.1. Woodpecker and cuckoo heard early at &squat.
2. Emailed PARTYGATE letter to Tory constituency MP. Everyone should be emailing their MP. Did so at wonderful Scientists for the EU Prof. Mike Galsworthy's urging:
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=520446669453355&id=100044640780513
3. Emporium pains et patisserie. Bonkers rtcs taken - 5p/9p - and mostly delivered to old uni friend. One or two may be hiding in &'s fridge for a petit déjeuner or 2.😁😋
4. Stayed out for connectivity - as usual - for long hold on a long call and what became an apology eventually, after a worrying letter 'was sent in error'. Next, call to widowed friend as sun set, just as wren hedge-darted and bat swooped close above. Barely outlined/ seen as darkness fell.
5. Kitchen floor majorly degunked, kitchen kelim carefully double-washed and mostly line-dried, kitchen plughole replumbed. All most satisfactory.#Lateral extra🙂 - & opened a new bit of post, dated 19 July 2021, to old NZ schoolfriends (posts passim), now 10mths back in Central Hawkes Bay. Letter and £1.34 refund chq. Shall &send it as curio? 'No.'😁CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Morning all - I slept in and haven't got going yet. You can cross me off your busy people list today, Happycas!
Admiral - I love the Highline, lovely to do and one of the the few FREE things in NYC
mhags - love the sound of the doll's house. Are you totally caught up with Outlander? Like, new series and all?
Pleasures for Monday
1. did a bit of cleaning - though a pleasure it's done am getting a bit fed up with being the only one who cleans. There's three of us here and one doesn't work at all!
2. watched 'manhunt: Unabomber' on Netflix (some at least) - i enjoyed the 'forensic linguistics' part particularly
3. omelette for tea, nicest and fastest fast food i know
4. did some shopping for OH's birthday. What to buy the man who doesn't want anything?
5. found my green shorts - they've been missing for a while (under a pile of stuff in the wardrobe).
Tuesday
1. OH and i walked more of the Thames path - Abingdon to Oxford. Some very lonely but lovely stretches
2. enjoyed the bus ride from oxford to Abingdon - top, front, RHS of the double decker. is there any other seat to have?
3. reading my book on the train.
4. Enjoyed our picnic by a lock - smoked salmon GF wraps.
5. Finished the unabomber as OH was out singing in an Easter service.
And yesterday
1. More birthday shopping and a bit of holiday shopping for good measure (hopefully going to Majorca on Monday - COVID permitting and touching wood)
2. met friend at the arboretum for lunch and a walk - it is so beautiful there.
3. we didn't get wet, despite many showers around
4. DD got her DNA analysis results back. Turns out I'm her mother 😂 and, despite having a Welsh grandmother, she's more scottish (11%) and norwegian (3%) than she is Welsh (2%). She was especially pleased about the Norwegian. What i can't understand is that, if i'm 28% Irish, why is she only 4%?? You'd have thought she'd be 14% minimum.
5. out for a birthday meal for OH and two of his friends who all have birthdays in April. It was nice to catch up with friends but my food was a disappointment. didn't get home till 1 - i'm normally going to bed at 10!
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
This morning thus far....
- a playful pillow fight with my partner, who cheated by underhand tickling
- Flowers, trees and plants in my garden all coming into bloom with an array of bright and cheerful colours
- Removing all the light timers now that we have much lighter mornings and evenings (also removed electric blanket)
- Have dug out my old Nintendo Wii plus a few games. I haven't played with it since moving up here. But I have set the agenda for tonight as an alternative to watching TV
- There is a KitKat Easter egg sitting on my kitchen table courtesy of my partner, but only to be opened at the weekend according to her bold 64 font size Post It note stuck on the lid I am fighting temptation... but... but.. the more I think about it....must...resist...Saturday is so far away....must... say... no......
