Tax man putt rite and refund on its weigh! Mind you he is now asking for the inside leg measurement as well! Bee carfull!
Disappointed as nice from the sweetshop call centre on about my bank having mysterious transactions threw the phone down after 50 minutes as I was concerned about my Netflix account instead! He was wanting me to find a stream viewer, I kept saying I was watching steam trains on the UTube! Still stopped him ripping off another for that time. Please do not try this at home if you is not lick The Admiral! Remember your bank does not ask you to do anything with your money!
The Admiral is now packing his comb and kegs for the tour. Should be ok with that I thinks. No report until Wendsday!

DforV - yayy to the carer (we're trying to persuade MiL to accept a companion / carer) and lol to the cup of tea. only the one slice of cake? you saint.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. no plans but still occupied. Firstly with a walk over the fields. A lockdown walk we haven't done now for many months (also A Good Thing, no?)
2. Home for smorgasbord lunch (we are fond of a smorgasbord)
3. A pottery afternoon for me (not actual pottery, but pottering with a bit of this and that), OH went to do some chores for DD
4. cripes - an emergency plumber needed at DD's (not as a result of OH's chores, I hasten to add). Fortunately the financial damage was not as much as it might have been
5. garlic tomato prawns with pasta for tea, yum.
Have a great afternoon

1.🦚🏉 69 - 12!!!🏉🦚
We did it! Promotion AND League Champions - Men's and Women’s 1st XVs.
Party! Party! Last home match and all the boys did a wonderful thing for the Raffle Harridan after her season of bullying vileness. Up came Club Captain, said lovely, ridiculous, excessive, unnecessary things - made & cry. Peacock HQ in glorious uproar. & picked up, hugged and twirled around. Made their own presentation, card signed by the whole squad!+wine (when Lent is over!) All utterly and totally unexpected.
& has teased that promotion means Raffle ticket prices will double!😁
&'s rumtopf was consumed by prizewinners and friends very soon.....they all want more. Another's underway.
Singing and dancing and wonderful, on-and-on night and morning.
We are the Peacock 🦚 family - and 1st Ukrainian refugees have safely arrived within our orbit.

Last match of season away at Haberdashers Askes, 23 April, is going to be more, more, more.....
3. Then Palm Sunday. Strong, reflective service and 2 crosses to post.
4. This 1 daisy, huge, alongside &'s Scotsdales parking yesterday.
5. Just pausing after another emporium Food Surplus pick-up, 11 crates. Hooray! Sack barrow trolley tyre replaced after 5 months, at last. Still hefty enough luggery even so. & keeps fit one way or another.

Could do more but will stop at 5.
5 little bunnies have just popped out, running round &'s still place, with birdsong. That Richard Adams' Watership Down word for their this-time-of-day grazing - silflaying - is perfect.

All blessings, everyone 🙌.

Five recent pleasures:
1. I got all my accounts and receipts and bill paying right up to date and know to the penny how much I have (or have not!), but knowing's good.
2. Lovely buddha bowl suppers two nights in a row.
3. Good putting-the-world-to-rights phone call with best friend.
4. Have rediscovered a whole load of things I'd forgotten about that I might be able to sell.
5. Treated myself to one absolutely delicious organic orange.
Sweet dreams

3) Bagged up more stuff and took it to the charity shop.
4) Handyman came round and said all the jobs I need doing (including painting the front of the house) will take him 1.5 days. He'll be back in 3 weeks.
5) Made toad in the hole for tea.

hello peoples had a fabulous long weekend away in Edinburgh and at the last moment unpacked my laptop which i think was a very good idea. did mean i couldn't catch up though on all your fabulous news till just now. so a quick 5
1) back to our lovely B&B - mum, me and a friend sharing a room so works out very reasonable, yummy cooked breakfasts
2) Dorothy Dunnett Society AGM - lots of friends i haven't seen for too long we met up for dinner at a lovely Italian Friday night
3) Saturday was 3 very good talks (the Trinity Altar Piece, Scotland's reformation 1558/9, Dyeing up to the 16th century then a wonderful gala dinner
4) Sunday was actually seeing the Trinity Altar Piece (fascinating being shown by an art historian) then lunch with mum and 4 others at the Dome. I love The Dome and have already emailed gbf to say if he wants to take me there for my 60th next year...
5) 4 of us are 60 next year - one of them (also at the dome) is having several celebrations, including one for her Dundee friends in Dundee. She is a huge Shackleton fan and we are having dinner on the Discovery if all goes to plan. grin.

Ampersand - that sounds a magnificent day and night. League champions. You deserve the recognition and appreciation.
1. Roads are so quiet over the holidays during the rush hour- almost like being back in lockdown!e
2. Saw a colleague friend at work whom I hadn't seen in a while. Good to see her and catch up.
3. Long chat at end of day with someone. It is reassuring that I am not the only one who thinks as I do about work and he has considered leaving too and to do something completely different.
4. Home and spent time watering the garden. I enjoy it as gives me time to really notice all the plants.
5. Reading my book with a glass of wine. DH out music on instead of the tv. Very relaxing.10 -
Worthy appreciation for all you do Ampersand.
Your weekend away sounds wonderful DD, we loved our trip to Edinburgh
For yesterday,
Busy morning with surveys interspersed with chores.
A book ordered from the big river site arrived in plenty of time for beloved’s birthday in a couple of weeks time, had been told it would come the day after!
Drove over to DB and all four of us went on to a funeral, obviously not a pleasure but a catch up with family was, all of whom we hadn’t seen since before the pandemic.
Home and small dog very pleased to see us, can’t remember the last time she was left for 5 hours.
Watched and enjoyed the Mastermind final but no more Monday quizzes for a while now.10 -
Post lost, so back to & normal.😖

1. Fuelled up finally, over 4hrs later. Ma'am Controller apologised and explained tanker was a new type, not filling reservoirs⬇️by gravity, but up, by graduated suction. 1 hadn't worked - yellow Out of Order clamp thing - so override had to be authorised. Only 3 from 4 working meant more slowdowns. Friends in Spain saw &'s pic - their government is subsidising them 20c per litre, a real help.
2. Nearly finished!👏
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_of_the_Violin.
3. Last portion of use-up supper was delicious, with "Goodness me! how did that Turkish delight happen?" afterwards.😋 & loves Turkish delight, £land packs of 4 are very suitable indeed. Low-grade matters not, nor does the carp milk chocolate coating.
4. Passing emporium vouchers on.👏 & happily haggles at meat+fish there(walk away now to avoid embarrassment by association😁) but lean'n'mean healthy living & will rarely spend the required £40/£50/£60 triggers. Maybe for necessary rumtopf liquids....😁
5. A long call, +1hour, with recently widowed CS colleague after husband's delayed cremation, not an osp, but yes, still an osp. She is a dear soul and laughter plus her tears come into our calls.
